Jurnal Gesture Seni Tari ini memuat tentang penulisan ilmiah dan penelitian seni tari tradisi dan tari non tradisi di Nusantara, hingga menyinggung persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan perkembangan pendidikan seni tari pada abad ini. Sebagai Jurnal Seni yang hadir ditengah-tengah lembaga Prodi Pendidikan Seni Tari; dalam hal ini jurnal gesture akan selalu konsisten untuk berupaya menampung segala bentuk karya tulis ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan bidang (Pengajaran, Pengkajian, Penyajian, Penciptaan, dan Pengelolaan) di Pendidikan Tari FBS Unimed.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the textual study of the Buku dance to Muslim communities in Lahewa District, North Nias Regency. The theories used in this study include the theory of textual form by Y Sumandiyo Hadi. To describe the dance of the book being studied in the form of; choreographic analysis consisting of (forms of motion, motion techniques and forces of motion), structural analysis (motives of motion) and symbolic analysis (meaning of motion). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Descriptive aims to describe or elaborate textual studies on the Buku dance The method used in data collection is by means of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of the study said that the Buku dance is a traditional dance in the Muslim community in North Nias Lahewa which is shown at the Mamedadao night event, which is the art night when initiating. In terms of choreographic analysis consists of (1) for motion, form is a form as a result of dance elements, namely motion, which includes forms of motion based on energy, space and time. forms of motion that there are eight variations in the Buku dance, namely; mangowai, lafabuku, fafuta banahia, lahehea, lafangasa fafuta matonga gaolo ba afonu, lafali and fandroho. (2) Motion technique, a technique that means the whole process both physically and mentally that enables dancers to realize their aesthetics in a composition or choreographic, motion techniques that include hands, feet and body in the Buku dance, namely; saluting, bending, turning in place, swinging, dragging, turning half circle and full, wrapped around and closing. (3) the force of motion, the force in this understanding is more directed to the context of characteristics or patterns contained in the forms and techniques of motion, the motion force is more dominant towards the motion of silat which leads to the context of a characteristic. From the structural analysis of the Buku dance, verbally recorded there are 29 motifs, 29 phrases, 22 sentences, 10 clusters and 1 form. From the symbolic analysis side, it can be understood the meaning of its motion to signify unity, that every human being will always need others to help each other. Keywords: Buku dance, Textual, Mamedadao, Lahewa, North Nias.    ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian tekstual tari Buku pada masyarakat muslim di Kecamatan Lahewa Kabupaten Nias Utara. Teori-teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi teori bentuk tekstual oleh Y Sumandiyo Hadi. Untuk menguraikan tari Buku yang dikaji dalam bentuk; analisis koreografis yang terdiri atas (bentuk gerak, teknik gerak dan gaya gerak), analisis struktural (motif gerak) dan analisis simbolik (makna gerak). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Deskriptif bertujuan untuk menggambarkan atau menguraikan kajian tekstual pada tari Buku Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian mengatakan bahwa tari Buku merupakan tarian tradisi pada masyarakat muslim di Lahewa Nias Utara yang ditampilkan pada acara malam Mamedadao yaitu malam kesenian saat berinai. Dari sisi analisis koreografis terdiri dalam (1) brntuk gerak, bentuk adalah wujud sebagai hasil dari elemen tari yaitu gerak, yang meliputi bentuk gerak berdasarkan tenaga, ruang dan waktu. bentuk gerak yang terdapat delapan ragam dalam tari Buku, yaitu; mangowai, lafabuku, fafuta banahia, lahehea, lafangasa fafuta matonga gaolo ba afonu, lafali dan fandroho. (2) Teknik gerak, teknik diartikan seluruh proses baik fisik maupun mental yang memungkinkan penari mewujudkan estetisnya dalam sebuah komposisi atau koreografis, tehnik gerak yang meliputi tangan, kaki dan badan pada tari Buku, yaitu; memberi hormat, membungkuk, memutar ditempat, mengayun, menyeret, memutar setengah lingkaran dan penuh, melilit dan penutup. (3) gaya gerak, gaya dalam pemahaman ini lebih mengarah pada konteks ciri khas atau corak yang terdapat pada bentuk dan teknik gerak, gaya gerak lebih dominan kearah gerak silat yang mengarah pada konteks ciri khas. Dari sisi analisis struktural  tari Buku dicatat secara verbal terdapat 29 motif, 29 frase, 22 kalimat, 10 gugus dan 1 bentuk. Dari sisi analisis simbolik dapat dipahami makna geraknya untuk menandakan bersatu, bahwa setiap manusia akan selalu membutuhkan orang lain untuk saling membantu.Kata Kunci: Tari Buku, Tekstual, Mamedadao, Lahewa Nias Utara

Abstract

ZapinPecahTiga dance is dances from Malay tribe in Labuhan Deli. The dance have characteristic on floor pattern is triangle and figure three. Research purpose is describe about arrangement of motion Zapin Pecah Tiga dance based on concept of choreography Zapin dance, Malay dance movement, dynamics and application of floor pattern. Theory used is theory choreography, choreography on the concept of Malay dance, Zapin dance, Zapin Pecah Tiga dance, dynamics and floor pattern. Time study for two months, began early in December 2014 until February 2015. Where research in sub-district Medan Marelan. Population research is people in Labuhan Deli, artist and dancer, sample is artist and dancer  that know about Zapin Pecah Tiga dance. Data colletion technique is observation, interview, documentation and then analyzed with use qualitative descriptive method. Research result is the dances have concept Zapin dance movement is tahsyim, alif, sambar elang tahtum. And concept Malay dance movement is tandak, tari, liok. It’s have characteristic in choreography is floor pattern is triangle have meaning “tongku tiga” as a balance in life and the dances were three people. Keyword: Zapin Pecah Tiga dance

Abstract

ABSTRACT – The use of an interactive module for the subject of Basic Dance Practice is aimed to help online learning so that it can be conducted optimally, and learning objectives can be achieved as expected. The interactive module for the Basic Dance Practice course was chosen due to the fact that it is the basic learning of dance movements that must be fully mastered by students before studying other dance practice materials. This study belongs to a development research (R&D) using the ADDIE learning design model which has 5 stages: (A)nalysis finding out the problems of learning dance practice related to learning resources and the media used, (D)esign planning for making interactive modules and features in it, (D)evelopment processing materials that will be included in the interactive module, starting from dance videos, sounds, music, quizzes, etc. Then, it is proceed with compiling and finishing the interactive module, (I)mplementation starting with the socialization of the interactive module to students so that it can be used properly by students on their cellphones or laptops, and (E)valuation evaluating the module and the results of using the module for students in learning the practice of basic dance movements. The results of this study show that the interactive module of the Basic Dance Course can help the learning process for both lecturers and students to improve their practical skills. Key Words: Interactive Module, Basic Dance Practice    ABSTRAK – Penggunaan  modul interaktif untuk matakuliah praktik Gerak Dasar Tari dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk membantu pembelajaran daring agar dapat berjalan maksimal dan tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Modul interaktif untuk matakuliah praktik Gerak Dasar Tari dipilih karena mata kuliah gerak dasar tari merupakan pembelajaran dasar gerak tari yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa dengan sempurna sebelum mempelajari materi praktik tari lainnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) dengan menggunakan model design pembelajaran ADDIE yang memiliki 5 tahapan  yaitu (A)nalisys, mencari tahu tentang permasalahan pembelajaran praktik tari berkaitan dengan sumber belajar serta media yang digunakan (D)esain, merencanakan pembuatan modul interaktif dan fitur-fitur yang ada didalamnya, (D)evelopment, memproses bahan-bahan yang akan dimasukkan kedalam modul interaktif. Mulai dari video gerak tari, suara, musik, kuiz dan lain sebagainya. Lalu dilanjutkan dengan menyusun modul interaktif hingga selesai (I)mplementation, dimulai dengan sosialisasi modul interaktif kepada mahasiswa sehingga modul dapat digunakan dengan baik oleh mahasiswa pada handphone atau laptopnya masing-masing dan (E)valuation, melakukan evaluasi modul dan hasil dari pemakaian modul bagi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran praktik Gerak Dasar Tari. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa, modul interaktif mata kuliah Gerak Dasar Tari dapat membantu proses pembelajaran baik bagi dosen maupun mahasiswa guna meningkatkan kemampuan praktiknya. Kata Kunci : Modul Interaktif, Praktik Gerak Dasar Tari

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the form of presentationTortor in Gondang Naposo in District Pangururan Samosirregency. The theoretical foundation of this researchsubscribes to the theory that were examined, the theory ofpresenting the conceptual framework as a translation problemcontained therein.This research is a qualitative descriptivestudy. Data collected by field observations, with videocapture, documentation, and conduct interviews with sources,as well as complete the data through research in the area ofthe District Pangururan Samosir by making artists and localtraditional leaders as the population in the research.Theresults based on the data that has been collected can be seenthat Tortor in Gondang Naposo a means to buildrelationships of young generation and maturation spirit ofindependence and often the scene of the discovery of a matewho follow the customs of Batak Toba. Gondang naposoevent held for two days and started before parnakkok nimataniari (sunrise). The first day of the three materials areimplemented; martonggo raja (inviting parents to participatein the event), ulaon na hohom (only sound gondang) and oldmambuat ni gondang (hasuhutan invoke blessings on MulaJadi  Na  Bolon).  The  second  day  gondangnaposoimplementation. In Godang naposo tortor there are seventortor, namely; tortor mula-mula, tortor somba, tortormangaliat, tortor sibunga jambu, tortor hatasopisik, tortorsimonang-Monang, tortor hasahatan sitio-tio.

Abstract

Abstract−This study examines the semiotics contained in diharsitarlak in Simalungun society. The goal is to explore the meaning contained in the sararar and interpretation of meaning seen through the theory of semiotics. Sitarlak is a martial arts that comes from Simalungun who became the performing arts for the community that is as a welcome dance for accompanied by music and using a special outfit. The theory used relates to the research topic of Suzanna K. Langer theory which discusses the motion and the theory of semiotic de Saurrsure to express the meaning. The research time used to discuss the semiotics was held in Simalungun society was done for 2 months ie end of August until October 2017. The research place was SanggarTortor Elak-elak in Kelurahan Sirpang Dalig Raya, Raya Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency. Population in this research is artist as well as adat character, sambual (pemusik), pandihar (people who bersilat) who understand about diharsitarlak. Data collection techniques include literature study, observation, interview and documentation, and then analysis with qualitative descriptive method. Based on the research conducted, the form of diharsitarlak is a series of silat movements consisting of 7 main motifs yaitu sombah, throw boxing worship, marsimbur, mangindo (top level), mangindo (lower level), lakkasitolu-tolu and cover worship. Clothing that is used in the sitarlakdihar is long shirt and trousers (black, red, and mixture of black, white, red), yeast pane, suri-suri, and gotong salalu. The accompaniment of music on the sitarlakdihar gondrang haro-day, parahot, and gual porang. As for the semiotics contained in the scarred sitarlak poured through the sign (sign) seen from the form of motion in the series of presentation, marker (signifier) is a form of motion as the main motive in the diharsitarlak, and signified (signified) is the meaning contained in diharsitarlak. So it can be interpreted the overall meaning in the absolute sarar is the actualization of life of the people of Simalungun in various conditions, such as giving thanks to God, facing temptation, being polite and humble, respecting and appreciating others. Keywords: semiotics, signs, signifer, signified, diharsitarlak

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk seni tari yang terdapat pada masyarakat Mandailing adalah tari (tor-tor) yang dilakukan pada upacara adat perkawinan, salah satunya adalah Tor-tor Tepak. Tor-tor Tepak dilakukan pada saat upacara perkawinan Horja Godang Haroan Boru (datangnya pengantin/Horja Godang untuk Perkawinan). Tor-tor Tepak adalah jenis tari persembahan atau tari pembuka untuk sidang adat pada masyarakat Mandailing yang dilaksanakan pada saat upacara perkawinan Horja Godang Haroan Boru, yang dilaksanakan selama tiga hari tiga malam, atau tujuh hari tujuh malam pada zaman dahulu dan diwajibkan untuk menyembelih kerbau atau lembu, namun karena perkembangan zaman dan faktor lainnya, sekarang Horja Godang Haroan Boru lebih sering dilaksanakan selama paling lama tiga hari tiga malam. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is about the influence of body work on the quality of dancers' movement in Sanggar Cahaya Permata. The purpose of this study is to see if there is influence on the quality of body exercise of dancers in Sanggar Cahaya Permata. The theory used in this research is the theory of body work from Sumedi Santosa, as well as the theory of motion quality from Soedarsono, and the theory of dance movement from Y. Sumandiyo Hadi. All of which are used to analyze the effect of body work on the quality of dancers' movement in Sanggar Cahaya Permata. This research was conducted for two months, starting from July to September. The location of this research was conducted at Sanggar Cahaya Permata Tanjung Morawa Kec. Deli Serdang Medan. The population in this study is all members in Sanggar Cahaya Permata. The sample in this research is 20 dancers and 1 trainer. The research analysis used is quantitative. Technique of collecting data is done by observation, interview, documentation and literature study. Results of research based on the data obtained show that the exercise is one of the important activities to do. Body exercise process done routinely with stages ranging from warm-up exercises, core exercises, closing exercises then the results of the quality of motion of dancers are seen after the process of exercise by observing the ability of dancers to perform dance moves according to the technique. The results concluded 84% that there is a positive and very significant influence between body exercise and the quality of dancers' movement in Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Keywords: Body, Motion Quality. Penelitian ini adalah tentang pengaruh body work terhadap kualitas gerakan penari di Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh terhadap kualitas latihan pengolahan tubuh penari di Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kerja tubuh dari Sumedi Santosa, serta teori kualitas gerak dari Soedarsono, dan teori gerak tari dari Y. Sumandiyo Hadi. Kesemuanya digunakan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kerja tubuh pada kualitas gerakan penari di Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama dua bulan, mulai dari Juli hingga September. Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di Sanggar Cahaya Permata Tanjung Morawa Kec. Deli Serdang Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua anggota di Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 20 penari dan 1 pelatih. Analisis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa olahtubuh merupakan salah satu kegiatan penting yang harus dilakukan. Proses latihan tubuh dilakukan secara rutin dengan tahapan mulai dari latihan pemanasan, latihan inti, latihan penutupan kemudian hasil kualitas gerak penari terlihat setelah proses latihan dengan mengamati kemampuan penari untuk melakukan gerakan tarian sesuai dengan teknik. Hasilnya menyimpulkan 84% bahwa ada pengaruh positif dan sangat signifikan antara latihan olahtubuh dan kualitas gerakan penari di Sanggar Cahaya Permata. Kata Kunci: Tubuh, Kualitas, Gerakan.

Abstract

This research explains about the Sikambang arts in Sibolga coastal area, and aims to recognize the multicultural aspect that is implemented as cultural identity of Sibolga coastal society. To support the research analysis, the writer mainly uses the theory of Salad Bolw. Specifically, she (the writer) applies Acculturation Theory and Adaptation as supporting theory, and also Dusek’s theory of Identity. The obtaining-data process of this research was conducted from July until the end of August 2014. Its samples include some cultural figures and artists who have deep comprehension on Sikambang arts in Sibolga coastal. The research data was collected through field-work method which consists of several aspects: observation, interview, library research, and documentation. Subsequently, she analyses it by using a descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research is, Sibolga coastal society is heterogeneous that consists of various tribes such as Minangkabau and Malay. The multicultural process is manifested from trading activities that in a long-term make an impact to cultural acculturation, like the wedding processions which performing Sikambang arts by every Muslim ethnic in Sibolga coastal. Sikambang arts acculturation can also be seen in Randai dance, originating from Minangkabau. Another example is Kapri dance, originating from Melayu. Those dances reflect the sense of respect and sense of belonging, as well as becoming cultural identity of Sibolga coastal society. Keyword: Artistry of Sikambang, Multikultural, Identity

Abstract

ABSTRACT, This study aims to describe the stages of packaging and produce learning products Sibolga Coastal Sweep and Dance in the form of audio visual media based on Edmodo E-Learning for students of grade x high school (SMA) in Medan. The theories used in research topics namely packaging theory, learning, audio visual media and Edmodo E-Learning. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) research method. The population and sample in the study are Sibolga Coastal Handkerchief Dance as research objects, for the research subjects using two students of 2015 Whip Dance Education Study Program and for product trials using 2 students / i and testing using 10 students / i Amir Hamzah Private High School Medan. Qualitative data collection techniques include field observations, interviews, documentation and literature and quantitative studies including research instruments that use questionnaires to test the feasibility of material, media and field trials. The study was conducted at the Dance Studio of Dance Education Study Program at the Department of Language and Art, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Medan State University and Amir Hamzah Medan Private High School and was conducted in July 2019 to September 2019. This study used a Likert scale to calculate the overall average in data analysis. The results of the study revealed that there were 9 stages in packaging the learning products of Sibolga Coastal Handkerchief dance material in the form of Edmodo E-Learning audio visual media for grade X high school (SMA) students in Medan consisting of (1) Potential and problems , (2) Gathering information, (3) Product design, (4) Design validation, (5) Design improvements, (6) Product trials, (7) Product revisions, (8) Product trials, (9) Product revisions. In the product validation phase, it involves 2 material expert validators and 1 media expert validator. This product gets a very good category with a detailed score of 4.6 from the material expert validation test, a 4.7 score from the media expert validation test and a 4.3 score from the student use trial. The score proves that this learning video product is very good and feasible to be applied in the process of learning Cultural Arts especially in the field of Dance Class X High School. This learning video product is packaged in the form of audio visual media that is uploaded into Edmodo E-Learning application that is used by utilizing the internet network. However, the learning video can still be used without an internet network by uploading it into a CD / DVD Room, flashdisk and so on. Keywords: Packaging, Learning Media, Printing Magazine, Pendet Dance.      ABSTRAK, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tahapan pengemasan dan menghasilkan produk pembelajaran tari pendet dalam bentuk media cetak majalah bagi siswa/i kelas xi Sekolah Menengah Atas di Sumatera Utara. Teori-teori yang digunakan dalam topik penelitian yaitu teori pengemasan, media pembelajaran, media cetak majalah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Populasi pada penelitian adalah satu orang Mahasiswa/i Prodi Pendidikan Tari Stambuk 2015. Teknik pengumpulan data kualitatif meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan meliputi instrument penelitian yang menggunakan angket untuk uji kelayakan materi, media. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Studio Tari Prodi Pendidikan Tari Jurusan Sendratasik Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Medan serta dilakukan pada Agustus 2019 hingga Oktober 2019. Penelitian ini memakai skala likert untuk menghitung rata-rata keseluruhan pada analisis data. Hasil Penelitian diketahui bahwa ada 3 tahapan dalam mengemas produk pembelajaran tari pendet dalam  bentuk media cetak majalah bagi siswa/i kelas XI sekolah menengah atas di Sumatera Utara terdiri dari (1) Pra-Produksi, Menyusun ide, Wawancara, (2) Produksi, Pengumpulan data, (3) Pasca-Produksi, Tahap Editing dan Layout, Validasi Desain Produk, Revisi Desain Produk, Naik Cetak. Pada tahap validasi desain produk didapat hasil sebagai berikut :(a) Uji validasi ahli materi mendapat nilai skor sebesar 4,7 dengan kategori Sangat Baik, (b) Uji validasi ahli media  mendapat nilai skor sebesar  4,8 dengan kategori Sangat Baik. Pada tahap validasi produk melibatkan 2 validator ahli materi dan 1 validator ahli media. Produk ini mendapat kategori sangat baik dengan rincian skor 4,7 dari uji validasi  ahli materi, skor 4,8 dari uji validasi ahli media. Skor tersebut membuktikan bahwa produk media pembelajaran ini sangat baik dan layak untuk diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran seni budaya khususnya bidang seni tari Kelas XI SMA.Kata kunci : Pengemasan, Media Pembelajaran Cetak Majalah Tari Pendet.

Abstract

The research discuss about transformation of bungkus dance in Simelue Regency. The Bungkus dance is one of traditional dance in the Simelue Regency that comes from Sibolga Costal region. The Purpose of the research is to understand the history and transformation bungkus dance in Simelue Regency.In the research discussion, used consist of three Sumaryono and Acculturation theory by Koentjaraningrat. The method that used in this research discussion is Qualitative Descriptive method. The time research of Bungkus Dance transformation has done two month since september untuk october 2015. The population of research is all of Simeulue Society and the sample of this ersearch is the lkeader of tradition, informan, artists and general society who know about bungkus dance. Based on the research that has done know that the transformation  bungkus dance can be seen from style, feel, and sense.
