Abstract

This research explores the empowerment of women in political and governmental participation, analyzing the barriers they face and the policy interventions that can enhance their roles in decision-making processes. Despite significant strides in gender equality, women continue to encounter numerous obstacles, including cultural norms, economic constraints, systemic biases, and legal limitations that hinder their full participation in politics. Through a review of existing literature, the study identifies gaps in policy frameworks and assesses the effectiveness of current strategies, such as gender quotas and financial support for female candidates. The research emphasizes the importance of comprehensive policies that address these challenges, including legal reforms, economic empowerment, and educational initiatives, to create a more inclusive political environment. By highlighting the potential societal benefits of increased women’s participation, such as enhanced diversity in decision-making and greater attention to issues affecting women, the study concludes that strengthening women’s empowerment in political and governmental roles is essential for achieving sustainable development, social justice, and democratic governance. Ultimately, this study advocates for continued policy innovation to empower women, promote gender equality, and contribute to democratic and sustainable governance.

Abstract

In social media, food references may come from multiple sources, including algorithm-induced content (for-you-page, FYP), culinary accounts, and friends' posts. It is not known, however, which source exerted more effect on the food purchase decision. This study investigates the influence of social media on food purchasing behaviour among young adults, focusing on the impact of content exposure from these sources. A total of 73 respondents from the final year student population participated, predominantly female (mean age = 21.79 years). Results indicated that 76.7% of participants spent more than three hours daily on social media, with 94.5% exposed to culinary content from for-you pages (FYPs). Interestingly, while exposure to FYP content was massive, it did not significantly correlate with food purchases (p=0.138). Instead, content from followed culinary accounts and friends showed significant positive correlations (OR: 3.17 and 4.35, respectively; p<0.05) with purchasing decisions. After further analysis using binomial regression, only friends' posts persisted as a predictor for food purchases. The findings suggest that peer influence plays a crucial role in shaping food choices, highlighting the need for public health initiatives to promote healthier eating behaviours among young adults.

Abstract

The preservation of oral traditions in the digital era presents a complex and multifaceted challenge that intersects tradition with technology. This research delves into the dynamic interplay between oral cultures and the digital landscape, exploring how digital technologies shape the preservation, transmission, and evolution of oral traditions while also examining the broader cultural implications of this intersection. Drawing upon insights from cultural anthropology, folklore studies, communication theories, and digital humanities, the research uncovers key findings that deepen our understanding of the opportunities and challenges posed by digital technologies. While digital platforms offer unprecedented opportunities for the documentation, dissemination, and revitalization of oral cultures, they also present challenges to their authenticity, integrity, and sustainability. The research offers recommendations for policymakers, cultural organizations, and community leaders to support the sustainable preservation of oral traditions in the digital era, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, innovation, and cultural sensitivity in navigating this evolving landscape.

Abstract

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a crucial role in regional development by addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges that governments and the private sector may not fully address. This study examines the contributions of NGOs to regional development, their collaboration with governments and private entities, and the challenges they face. Using a qualitative research approach, data was collected through case studies, interviews, and literature analysis to assess the effectiveness of NGO interventions. The findings indicate that NGOs significantly contribute to poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. Their collaborations with governments enhance policy implementation, while partnerships with private entities provide funding and technical support. However, NGOs also face challenges such as political interference, regulatory restrictions, and financial sustainability issues. The study highlights the increasing use of digital technologies, social enterprises, and innovative funding models to improve NGO operations and ensure long-term impact. Comparing this study with previous research, it is evident that while traditional NGO roles remain relevant, the strategies and operational models have evolved. Community-driven development remains effective in rural areas, whereas hybrid models involving government and private sector partnerships work better in urban contexts. The study concludes that strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships, improving financial sustainability, and maintaining NGO independence are essential for maximizing their impact on regional development. Future research should explore long-term sustainability strategies and assess the role of technology in enhancing NGO effectiveness.

Abstract

Economic inequality remains a critical challenge in many countries, reflecting disparities in income distribution, access to resources, and opportunities for social mobility. This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of social policies in addressing economic inequality, focusing on key policy areas such as poverty alleviation programs, education, healthcare, labor and wage regulations, and taxation and redistribution systems. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of inequality indicators such as the Gini coefficient, poverty rates, and Human Development Index (HDI) with qualitative analysis of policy documents and implementation practices. The findings indicate that social policies have a positive but uneven impact on reducing economic inequality. Short-term interventions, such as cash transfer programs, are effective in alleviating immediate poverty, while long-term policies in education and healthcare contribute to human capital development and improved economic opportunities. However, the overall effectiveness of these policies is constrained by several challenges, including corruption, mis-targeting of beneficiaries, limited funding, and weak institutional coordination. This study also reveals a gap between expected and actual policy outcomes, highlighting the importance of effective implementation and governance. The research concludes that while social policies are essential tools for reducing inequality, their success depends on integrated, well-targeted, and sustainable approaches. Strengthening policy design, improving transparency and accountability, and prioritizing long-term structural reforms are necessary to enhance their impact. This study contributes to the understanding of how social policies can be optimized to promote inclusive and equitable socio-economic development.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the solidarity economy in enhancing community resilience in the aftermath of social crises. In many post-crisis contexts, conventional economic systems have proven insufficient in addressing the complex challenges of economic recovery, social inequality, and weakened community structures. Data are collected through interviews with community members and cooperative leaders, surveys to assess levels of social capital and economic stability, and case studies of selected rural and urban communities affected by social crises. The analysis focuses on three main dimensions: economic impact (income recovery and employment), social impact (trust, cooperation, and participation), and institutional impact (community governance and local organizations). However, challenges such as limited funding, weak policy support, and lack of skills may hinder their sustainability. The research contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of resilience by integrating economic and social perspectives within a unified analytical framework.

Abstract

The digital transformation of public services has become a key strategy for improving governance, particularly in enhancing transparency and accountability. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of public service digitalization policies in increasing transparency, identify the factors influencing their implementation, and evaluate the gap between expected and actual outcomes. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data collected through questionnaires distributed to public service users and qualitative data obtained from interviews with government officials and document analysis of relevant policies and reports. The findings indicate that digitalization policies have a positive impact on transparency, particularly in improving access to information and enabling users to monitor service processes. However, the overall level of effectiveness is categorized as moderate, as the benefits are not evenly distributed and are influenced by several factors, including technology readiness, human resource capacity, infrastructure availability, and digital literacy. The study also reveals a gap between the expected outcomes of digitalization such as full transparency and seamless service integration and the actual implementation, which is often constrained by fragmented systems, incomplete information, and limited accessibility. In conclusion, while digitalization has significant potential to enhance transparency in public services, its effectiveness depends on comprehensive implementation and supportive conditions. The study recommends strengthening policy integration, improving system design, expanding infrastructure, and enhancing digital competencies to achieve more optimal transparency outcomes. These findings contribute to the development of digital governance practices and provide insights for policymakers and researchers in the field of public administration.

Abstract

The digitalization of public services has become a central strategy for governments to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. However, the extent to which these policies promote social inclusion remains a critical concern, particularly in the context of persistent digital inequalities. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of public service digitalization policies in fostering social inclusion, with a focus on accessibility, usability, coverage, equity, and user satisfaction. A mixed-methods approach is employed, combining quantitative data collected through surveys of digital service users with qualitative insights obtained from interviews with government officials and citizens, as well as analysis of relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that while digitalization has significantly improved service efficiency and expanded access, its impact on social inclusion is uneven. Urban populations and individuals with higher levels of digital literacy benefit more from digital services, whereas rural communities, the elderly, low-income groups, and people with disabilities continue to face substantial barriers. Key challenges identified include limited internet infrastructure, low digital literacy, resistance to technology, policy implementation gaps, and budget constraints. The study concludes that the effectiveness of digitalization policies is moderate and highly dependent on supporting conditions such as infrastructure availability, user capability, and inclusive policy design. To enhance social inclusion, the study recommends strengthening digital literacy programs, expanding internet access in underserved areas, designing user-friendly and accessible systems, and maintaining offline service alternatives. Ultimately, the research emphasizes that digital transformation in public services must be accompanied by inclusive strategies to ensure that its benefits are equitably distributed across all segments of society.
