Abstract

Grounding rod is more practical than grounding plate or grounding strip. Grounding resistance value must be set as small as possible. But, it is hard to approach the standard grounding resistance value. There are some methods used to reduce grounding resistance like paralleling ground rod, extending ground rod, or enlarging ground rod diameter. This paper explains the effect of length variation of delta cage electrode (dimension of delta side is 1 meter) on single ground rod resistance value. In this paper, ground rod’s length and diameter are 1.5 meters and 10 millimeters respectively. Ground rod is planted on the ground while the but is on land surface. Grounding resistance value of that single ground rod then is being compared with grounding resistance value of the combination of single ground rod and the delta cage electrode (dimension of delta side is 1 meter). After this research, we can conclude that: (a) delta cage electrode (its side 1 m) with three edge rod (length 0.5 meters, 1 meter and 1.5 meters; diameter 10 millimeters) can minimize grounding resistance value of single ground rod (length 1.5 meters, diameter 10 millimeters) by 33 ohm, 45 ohm, dan 50 ohm; (b) delta cage electrode (its side 1 m) with six edge rod (length 0.5 meters, 1 meter, and 1.5 meters; diameter 10 millimeters) can minimize grounding resistance value of single ground rod (length 1.5 meters, diameter 10 millimeters) by 45 ohms, 52 ohms dan 56 ohms.

Abstract

Application for collecting survey data utilizing SMS technology is used to facilitate the process of survey and data processing. Surveyor can simply send the data via SMS and the results are immediately processed in the server, then displayed via computer browser. This system is proposed because the current survey system is done manually using paper, therefore it is more risky in validity and processing. Operator must entry and process a huge amount of data, then show the result. The web-based application is build to help users operating the system easily. In addition, this application is also made generic, and can be implemented to more diverse survey. This survey data collection application is build using programming language PHP with CodeIgniter framework, javascript, and MySQL database for data storage. This application allows users to conduct surveys and data processing. The application can also minimize various problems that usually arise in manual process with a paper-based survey.

Abstract

As a very valuable asset, human resource needs to keep improving the performance of human resource management (HRM) in organizations. For instance, by integrating information technology in automating HRM business process, which is known as the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The embodiment of HRIS in Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan Republik Indonesia (BPK RI) is a web-based Sistem Informasi Sumber Daya Manusia (SISDM). The users’ acceptance level of SISDM is still low, meanwhile, it is a determinant factor of successful implementation of the information systems in several studies. Based on the conditions above, this study aims to analyse the factors that influence the successful implementation of SISDM at BPK RI. This study integrates the model of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT) and the DeLone and McLean’s information systems success model. The population of this study was all the employees of BPK RI who have used the SISDM as the end-users. The sample was selected by using the simple random sampling technique. Data gathered from 255 respondents were analysed by using SmartPLS version 3 software. The results show that the successful implementation of SISDM is influenced by the usage intention and users’ satisfaction. The intention to use SISDM is affected by the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, system quality and users’ satisfaction. While the user satisfaction of SISDM is influenced by the information quality and system quality.

Abstract

In this paper, the development of Android-based Indonesian Text-to-Speech (TTS) utilizing API Google for English TTS as a data voice has been proposed. Using this approach, a lightweight and mobile Indonesian TTS application can be realized. The utilization of English data voice is carried out by cutting off (hyphenate) Indonesian words into syllables using Finite State Automata method, then searching for equivalent syllables in English which have similar pronunciation. Using FSA method, this system is able to hyphenate all Indonesian words up to 95.19%. This application has Mean Opinion Score (MOS) value of understanding the words criteria of 3.31 and MOS value of smoothness pronunciation criteria of 3.46 (in a scale of 5).

Abstract

Revolution of technology makes information demand through internet increases. This has to be followed by implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO), therefore, sites that contain good information can get top rank in search result by the search engines. This paper describes implementation of structured data markup method to implement an SEO in a website. The objective is to analyze the effectiveness of structured data markup method to increase pageview of a website. Testing is done by building two identical news portal sites and implementing structured data markup on one of those sites. Benchmarking of success is carried out using Google Analytics for 31 consecutive days with the pageview as parameters. The results show that the sites implementing this method has pageviews 5.7% more than the sites that do not implement this method. On the 31st day, guratpena website, that implementing structured data markup, has 871 pageviews, while suaralensa website that does not implement the method only has 822 pageviews.

Abstract

Recently the switching mode used in a buck converter is controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM) which has relatively higher efficiency compared to a linear power supply system. In general, there are two problems that often occur in the buck converter, First, the difficulties in controlling inductor current which has considerably large ripple, and second, a transient output voltage that appears at the start-up. By using fuzzy logic control in PWM switching mode, the inductor current and output voltage of the buck converter can be controlled. Using Mamdani method fuzzy logic with 2 inputs, i.e. Error and Change of Error, the system produces 1 output, which is duty ratio. The results showed that the fuzzy logic control decreased the error of the output voltage of buck converter by 3%, and decreased the ripple in the inductor current by 1.5% up to 3%.

Abstract

In the present paper, a dynamic resource allocation scheme in orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) femtocells is proposed. In the proposed scheme, each femto base station dynamically selects the most appropriate subset of resource blocks (RBs) in a decentralized manner in order to mitigate the downlink cross- and co-tier interference. A game theoretic approach is used to model the interactions among autonomous entities, where each player attempts to maximize its own utility by choosing the best subset of RBs among the available RBs. The proposed utility function captures the cooperative behavior to manage the cross- and co-tier interference, which can be formulated as a potential game and demonstrated to converge to a Nash equilibrium. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme guarantees the convergence to Nash equilibrium and facilitates the femtocells to improve the throughput where the average 50% of user throughput above 7.3 Mbps, while minimizing the cross-tier interference to the macrocell network.

Abstract

Congestion is one of the symptoms of inadequate road conditions and interaction between the traffic elements that affect the performance of the highway. Methods of measuring the performance of the highway have been reported in Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia in 1997. Highway performance measurement parameters that can be used are speed and time delay. Floating Car Data (FCD) is a method to retrieve data such as speed and time delay quickly and efficiently. While Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) can be used as a method of measuring the performance of the FCD method. In this study, the FCD method is applied to the segment of urban roads in the city of Malang by utilizing the GPS feature on a mobile device carried by the rider. The results of data recording by FCD are tested using ANFIS with two input parameters (speed and time delay) and one output (congestion level). Results of experiments using 70% training data and 30% test data are able to obtain maximum performance, with the lowest MSE is 0.43, while the calculated travel speed results of the FCD method compared with the base flow speed (based on MKJI) is 68.22% during spare time, and 43.96% during traffic jam.

Abstract

This study analyzes the speed of propagation time performance capabilities of the integrated circuit type of standard Dual 3-Wide 3-Input TTL IC AOI on the characteristic levels of forward common emitter current gain (βf). Simulation is carried out using SPICE software with capacitor load (CL) of 15 pf and levels of forward common emitter current gain (βf) are 5, 10, and 15. The simulation results show that tPLH (transition low to high), tPHL (transitions high to low), and mean time propagation produced differ for each βf. A propagation time of 1.59ns is obtained for βf of 5, slower than βf performance of 10, which is 1.53ns. Furthermore, βf performance with a value of 15 is 1.50ns, faster than others’. But this βf has greater power dissipation, which is 29 mW. Power dissipation produced by βf of 10 is 27 mW, and βf of 5 produced 26 mW. Therefore, IC designing must consider the characteristic level of the forward common emitter current gain (βf) value. Higher βf values produce larger power dissipation.

Abstract

Indonesia as a big country is facing electricity demand increase as the economy is intensively growing. Along with the economy growth, the electricity demand is also increasing. This should be balanced with the growth of power plants installed, but power plants can not be built in a short time. This growth may affect the stability. Stability is one of main problems of power system. Power system can be represented by simplifying it into Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB). Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) is one of the solutions to enlarge the capacity by compensating the reactive load. By installing the FACTS, the dynamic characteristic of power system also changes. The result shows that system has better dynamic response with FACTS than without FACTS. A proper control is subsequently needed for tackling those phenomenons, e.g. using PID-POD controller. In this type of controller, the PID constant is needed to be determined. Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is then employed for solving such problem. As the newest metaheuristic method, FPA has shown better characteristic than other methods. The results show that FPA can be used as a method to find the optimal PID controller constant in a simple power sytem, such as SMIB.
