Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) exacerbates peripheral artery disease (PAD) and can affect the diagnostic accuracy of the ankle-brachial index (ABI) due to arterial calcification. Alternative examinations such as toe-brachial index (TBI), toe pressure (TP), and ankle pressure (AP) require evaluation to compare their effectiveness post-angioplasty in PAD patients with and without DM. This study aims to compare the changes in the values of these four parameters before and after angioplasty in both groups of patients. Method. This retrospective cohort study involved 78 PAD patients (39 with DM, 39 without DM) at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Hemodynamic parameters (ABI, TBI, AP, TP) were measured 24 hours before and after angioplasty. Bivariate analysis and linear regression are used to assess changes and their predictive factors. Post-angioplasty, all parameters showed significant improvement in both groups. However, the delta differences between groups were only significant in ABI and AP, not in TBI and TP. Preangioplasty parameter values were the main predictors of the magnitude of post-operative changes (p<0.001), while age had only a significant effect on delta TBI and TP. Conclusion. Angioplasty significantly improved ABI, TBI, TP, and AP values in PAD patients with and without type 2 DM. There was a significant difference between the delta parameters of ABI and AP in both groups after angioplasty. The value of the clinical parameters of preangioplasty had an effect on the delta value of each parameter, while age only affected the change in TBI and TP. The finding that TBI and TP did not show  significant delta differences  between the DM and non-DM groups implied that these two parameters were more robust and less affected by the condition of diabetes, making them worthy of consideration as a more reliable assessment tool, particularly in diabetic populations at risk of arterial calcification.

Abstract

Productivity in construction work is one of the important factors to be able to manage the expenses of a project. One way to find out work productivity is by conducting simulations. This study specifically conducted a study related to the productivity of alloy piping work in the Muara Tawar PLTGU project. Considering that this work requires a lot of resources, and is on a critical track of project completion schedule. Based on CYCLONE modeling and the results of EZSTROBE software simulation, a productivity of 10.66 diainch/day per team was obtained. However, these results can still be optimized up to 15.99 Dia inch/day per team by adding resources to the fitup job.

Abstract

This study aims to explore internal and external factors influencing the implementation of Dynamic Managerial Capabilities (DMC) at PT. Bixbox Teknologi Perkasa, a technology-based startup. DMC refers to the ability of managers to sense opportunities, seize them strategically, and reconfigure organizational resources in response to environmental dynamics. This qualitative research adopts a single case study approach, using in-depth interviews with key informants in managerial roles. The theoretical framework integrates the Dynamic Managerial Capabilities Framework (Heubeck, 2023a), the Entrepreneurial Learning Framework (Lecler & Kinghorn, 2014), and Emotional Intelligence Theory (Goleman, 1995). Initial findings reveal that entrepreneurial experience, emotional intelligence, and organizational culture serve as critical internal factors shaping managerial cognition and decision-making. Externally, technological disruption and market pressures act as driving forces for strategic adaptation through DMC processes. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of micro-level enablers in developing dynamic capabilities within the context of digital startups.

Abstract

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) can lead to lower extremity amputation. The WIfI (Wound, Ischemia, Foot Infection) classification is used to predict the risk of amputation, but the ischemic component is often assessed using the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) which has limitations on non-compressible arteries. The Popliteal Brachial Index (PBI) is proposed as a more accurate alternative because the measurement location is more proximal and less affected by arterial calcification. The purpose of the study was to compare the predictive values of ABI and PBI in the classification of WIfI against the incidence of major amputation in PAD patients. This study is designed as a Diagnostic Test using medical record data of patients with a PAD diagnosis that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria for admission to the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in 2024 – 2025. The data were analyzed univariately to see the distribution of the characteristics of each variable, and bivariate analysis was performed using the ROC curve and the McNemar Test to assess the predictive accuracy. The ROC curve analysis for ABI showed an AUC of 0.786 with a p < 0.05 and a 95% IK (0.690-0.881). Meanwhile, the ROC curve for PBI shows an AUC of 0.76 with a p < 0.05 and an IK of 95% (0.66-0.86), and with  a cut-off  value of both of them of 0.5. The McNemar test of the two methods showed no significant difference. These results show that both methods have an equal level of accuracy in classifying amputation risk based on the WIfI system. There is no comparison between the ABI and PBI values based on the WIfI classification system as a predictor of major amputation in PAD patients at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital.

Abstract

Endovenous Microwave Ablation (EMA) is one of the thermal ablation modalities to treat chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). The effectiveness and safety of EMAs in large-diameter saphena magna veins (GSVs) still require further research. This study aimed to compare the rates of recanalization and post-EMA complications in CVI patients with GSV diameters of <8 mm and ?8 mm. This retrospective cohort study used data from 54 patients from a multicenter (January 2023 – May 2025). Statistical analysis was performed with an unpaired t-test and a Chi-square test. The rate of venous occlusion reached 100% in both groups. The recanalization rate at 3 months post-procedure was higher in the GSV group ?8 mm (11.1%) compared to the GSV <8 mm (3.7%), although the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.299). There were no significant differences in complications of ecchymosis, thermal skin injury, and paresthesia. However, pain was reported to be significantly higher in the ?8 mm GSV group (33.3% vs 7.4%; p=0.018). The EMA is effective in achieving occlusion in a wide range of GSV diameters, but patients with a GSV of ?8 mm (especially ?10 mm) have a higher tendency to recanalize and post-procedure pain. Additional strategies are needed to be considered to increase effectiveness and comfort in the group.

Abstract

This article critically examines the conflict in Wadas Village as a representative case of legal and ecological tensions arising from the implementation of Indonesia’s National Strategic Projects. It interrogates how legal reasoning can be restructured to support justice in state-driven development projects that encroach upon local communities’ land, ecological security, and political rights. Employing a normative juridical method grounded in critical hermeneutics and socio-legal perspectives, the study analyzes constitutional norms, statutory regulations, gubernatorial decrees, and environmental planning laws. Findings reveal that procedural legality has often been used to legitimize state coercion, undermining participatory governance and spatial justice. The article argues for a transformative legal reasoning framework that incorporates ethical deliberation, legal listening, and principles such as Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC). It concludes that legal reform must reorient law toward substantive justice and democratic accountability, particularly in contested ecological landscapes.

Abstract

This research employs a mixed methods approach to assess ESG program implementation at PT X, using qualitative analyses of documents, policies, and interviews with stakeholders, including management, employees, and community representatives. The study evaluates the impact of ESG on corporate reputation through both qualitative data, such as media analysis and stakeholder perceptions, and quantitative data that examines correlations between ESG performance indicators and reputation measures like media sentiment and investor confidence. The core assumption is that a well-communicated ESG program enhances a mining company's reputation. The study aims to analyze PT X's current ESG implementation, identifying strengths and challenges, while also determining its impact on corporate reputation across various stakeholder groups. Additionally, it seeks to suggest improvements to PT X's ESG strategy. Existing literature links ESG performance to corporate reputation and financial success, emphasizing transparency and stakeholder engagement. However, specific studies on ESG in the Indonesian mining sector are limited. This research aims to fill that gap by providing a detailed case study. Expected outcomes include a comprehensive assessment of PT X's ESG initiatives and their effectiveness, revealing their influence on reputation among stakeholders and identifying key perception drivers. Practical recommendations will be provided to optimize PT X's ESG strategy, enhancing its corporate reputation and sustainability. Ultimately, this research contributes empirical evidence regarding the relationship between ESG implementation and corporate reputation in Indonesia's mining industry, offering insights for companies in emerging economies on leveraging ESG practices for sustainable value

Abstract

Abstract

Financial technology has revolutionized access to capital for marginalized communities, particularly women entrepreneurs in rural areas. This study investigates the impact of ultra-microfinancing on poverty alleviation among women in Indonesia through a case study of Amartha, a peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform. The research explores the regulatory environment, economic impact on woman and technological accessibility affecting financial inclusion in underserved communities. Women in rural Indonesia often struggle with financial exclusion due to lack of credit history, collateral, and formal employment. Traditional banking institutions have largely ignored this demographic, leaving a gap that fintech platforms like Amartha aim to fill. Amartha provides microloans to women entrepreneurs, enabling them to start or expand businesses, thereby increasing household income and fostering local economic growth. Since its inception in 2010, Amartha has empowered over 1.5 million women, demonstrating the transformative potential of fintech in poverty reduction. This research is driven by key questions regarding business strategy and economic impact. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. Primary data includes surveys and interviews with Amartha’s management and mitra (partners), while secondary data is sourced from company reports, academic literature, and regulatory documents. The research also integrates economic models, financial inclusion frameworks, and risk management theories to assess Amartha’s effectiveness.
