Abstract

Cibatok 2 Village in Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency, has significant agricultural potential in its abundant cassava commodity; however, its use is still limited to selling raw materials, resulting in suboptimal economic added value. Local UMKM also operate with simple business models, lack professional management, and make minimal use of digital technology for marketing, leading to low product competitiveness. The UMKM digitalization extension program and local product innovation workshop for cassava leaf jerky and ecoprint crafts by the KKN-T IPB group aimed to improve UMKM owners’ understanding of digitalization and the development of cassava by-products into high-value products. The implementation methods included an initial survey, digital UMKM socialization (computerization, digitalization, e-commerce, and digital marketing), local product innovation workshops, and evaluation involving active community and UMKM groups (PEKKA) participation. Pre-test and post-test results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, with the average score increasing from 2.435 to 3.080. The program enhanced participants’ understanding of digital UMKM and the importance of local product innovation for business sustainability, resulting in innovative products such as cassava leaf jerky and cassava leaf-patterned bags using the ecoprint technique. Participants’ enthusiasm and positive feedback are expected to motivate the development of local products combined with digital marketing, thereby increasing product value, expanding market reach, and encouraging local economic growthowner. Proficiency in digital technology and creative processing of local potential can be effective strategies to strengthen the village economy; therefore, further training, continuous mentoring, and strengthened marketing strategies are recommended to ensure the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

The Eco-Venture program was implemented at SDN Tegal Caringin, Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency, involving 30 fifth-grade students. The program combined instructional delivery using PowerPoint media with an interactive educational game called Geo-Race, a snakes and ladders based board game equipped with environmental and geopark themed cards. This program aims to foster early awareness of the importance of environmental conservation based on the values of the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark. The study employed a pre-test and post-test design to assess changes in students' knowledge and attitudes, complemented by observations of student participation during the activities. Data analysis began with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, followed by either the Paired Sample T-Test or the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, depending on data distribution. The analysis showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge (from 54.6 to 70.3; p=0.000) and attitudes (from 84.6 to 90; p=0.043) after participating in the program. Furthermore, the program encouraged collaboration among students, teachers, and the community in environmental protection, while also creating opportunities for sustainable economic development through the enhancement of geopark potential. The Geo-Race innovation proved effective as an interactive learning medium that strengthened students’ understanding of environmental conservation and local potential. The program is recommended for integration into the local content curriculum in schools across the geopark area to expand both educational and socio-economic impacts sustainably.

Abstract

Pabean Ilir Village, Pasekan District, Indramayu Regency, faces a number of priority issues including coastal ecosystem degradation due to plastic waste, low utilization of local fish for complementary feeding (MPASI), limited competitiveness of MSME products, weak motivation of the younger generation in achieving their goals, and minimal village spatial data. IPB University's Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) is implemented as an effort to empower communities based on village and environmental potential to encourage community independence. This activity aims to increase community capacity in environmental management, health, economy, education, and village planning. The methods used include field observation, interviews, training, demonstrations, participatory actions, and satellite imagery-based spatial mapping. The results of the activities show that the Breath of the Earth program is able to reduce waste accumulation, increase coastal vegetation cover, and increase environmental awareness; the SENYUM program improves mothers' nutritional knowledge and encourages the use of local fish to prevent stunting; the SiPIKIR program strengthens MSME branding and digital marketing; the Mimpi Canvas program fosters motivation, self-confidence, and future orientation of students; and the Mapping program produces maps of village potential, tsunami vulnerability, and fishing areas that strengthen data-based planning. The community's enthusiasm for participating in the program demonstrates the significant potential for sustainable village development. Pabean Ilir Village is expected to become a model for strengthening coastal community independence based on local potential and participatory innovation.

Abstract

The elderly represent a demographic highly vulnerable to physical and psychosocial decline, which often leads to diminished involvement in productive activities, particularly within rural environments. To address this, the KULO Program (Optimistic Elderly Superior Garden) was established to empower senior citizens through community-based horticultural farming, aimed at enhancing their skills, independence, and overall quality of life. Implemented in Padukuhan Teguhan, Wunung Village, in collaboration with the Seger Waras Elderly Family Development (BKL) group, the program utilizes polybag cultivation for commodities like Capsicum annuum L. (red chili pepper) and Solanum melongena L. (purple eggplant). This participatory model integrates fundamental agricultural education with direct practical experience, utilizing a growth medium of soil, compost, and charred husks. With 58 elderly participants actively engaged in every stage, the results demonstrate that polybag farming is an exceptionally effective method for supporting both physical and social engagement. Participants reported significant improvements in technical proficiency, self-confidence, and a renewed sense of communal solidarity. While the program faced hurdles such as limited mobility and low literacy levels, an adaptive approach characterized by intensive cadre mentoring and observational learning-ensured that all empowerment goals were met. Beyond strengthening local food security, KULO enriches the lives of the elderly through meaningful, contributive actions involving various stakeholders. Given its success, the KULO Program holds great potential for replication in other communities with similar characteristics. Ensuring its long-term sustainability will require consistent policy support, regular training for cadres, and seamless integration into routine community activities, solidifying KULO as an adaptive, practical, and sustainable model for elderly empowerment.

Abstract

Minerals are needed in the bodies of ruminant livestock for food metabolism by rumen microbes. Mineral deficiency can be a problem for the growth and development of young ruminants. Mineral blocks are one of the alternative feed supplements that are currently being developed to maintain the balance of mineral requirements in ruminant feed. The mineral block production outreach program aims to increase knowledge, skills and interest of farmers in Ponolawen Village in meeting the mineral requirements of livestock by providing mineral blocks. The methods used in implementing this program were direct surveys of farms, direct interviews, distributing invitations to farmers in Ponolawen Village, providing outreach services by giving materials related to the definition and benefits of mineral blocks and how to make them, and ending with a demonstration of how to make mineral blocks. This outreach activity was attended by 11 goat farmers with a total of around 80 goats. The evaluation of the activity was conducted using the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model approach. This outreach activity hopefully provided farmers with knowledge, skills, and interest to make mineral blocks independently and experience direct benefits for their livestock. The training on mineral block production is a long-term investment for livestock welfare. It is recommended that similar training be continued with the support of publications, monitoring, and evaluation that can involve the wider village community to ensure the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

The failure of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is often caused by limited business concepts and difficulties in explaining the concepts to stakeholders. BUMDes Curugbitung has several business plans that have not been optimally implemented. One reason is the lack of business plans that are easily communicated to various parties. The DOSEN PULANG KAMPUNG Program aims to help BUMDes conduct systematic business planning to anticipate business failures and attract investors. The mentoring method uses a participatory workshop with a Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework. This workshop was held July 7, 2025, and involved 20 participants, consisting of BUMDes administrators and Gapoktan (Farmer Groups), while lecturers and students acted as facilitators. The workshop outlined nine key building blocks egg-laying chicken business for the Curugbitung BUMDes. Participants, particularly BUMDes administrators and farmer groups (Gapoktan), gained a more comprehensive understanding of business planning. The BMC model assisted BUMDes managers in explaining strategies to stakeholders. Managerial knowledge, including marketing, production, finance, and human resources, determines the success of BMC implementation. BUMDes managers also require a shift in mindset and institutional strengthening. The results of this business model are expected to provide discussion material for BUMDes managers in seeking funding sources and sustainable business.
