Abstract

Rabies is a deadly disease transmitted from animals to humans with more than 59,000 people recorded or almost 1 death every 9 minutes CDC (2017). The main source of transmitting rabies is dogs through bites and saliva which contain viruses. Rabies is a strategic infectious animal disease (PHMS) whose existence is prioritized to be controlled in Indonesia. West Sumatra Province is still an area that is not yet free of rabies with extraordinary events (KLB). Aside from rabies, the biggest challenge is the many diseases of Jembrana. Jembrana is a strategic disease with its main host being only Bali cattle (Bos sondaicus). Decreased immune system cells (B lymphocytes) will cause the development of bacteria in the body's organs or sekuder infection (Directorate of Animal Health 2015). Thus causing losses including livestock mortality, declining health and quality of livestock, disruption of activities involving cattle, to the loss of closure of the affected area. Implementation of activities in the form of socialization and education about rabies, rabies vaccination, and mass animal health checks. The results of the field show that the number of treatments for livestock is 931, HPR vaccination, 1,211 and 859 people have received socialization regarding the spread of rabies in 5 UPTs in Agam District. Education and assistance are given to the public about the importance of eradicating rabies. The spread of jembrana disease can be inhibited by using vaccines through mass treatment programs. Abstract

Most farmers in Neglasari cultivate annual crops as their livelihood. Vegetable commodities which are the main products of agriculture in Neglasari Village are oyong and eggplant. There are several cropping systems that are applied to these vegetable plants, two of which are monoculture and polyculture systems, especially the intercropping system. This report aims to determine the effectiveness of intercropping methods in the cultivation of oyong (Luffa acutangula L.) and eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) to increase production in Neglasari. The method used in this activity is the interview method and literature review. Interviews were conducted directly with several farmers in Neglasari as resource persons. Information on interview results is strengthened by conducting a literature review of sources relevant to the topic of discussion. The intercropping system has several advantages not possessed by monoculture systems. Tumpangsari is considered appropriate and effective in eggplant and oyong cultivation because farmers in Neglasari can earn more income than monoculture. In addition to increasing land productivity, this system can create biological stability so that it can suppress pests and diseases attacks and maintain the sustainability of land resources in this case soil fertility. Abstract

Cocoa production in Sidomulyo Village is reduced due to various factors including pest and disease attacks such as CPB and fruit rot, old plants, lack of maintenance and land use change with plants that are easier to maintain. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the potential and opportunities for increasing cocoa production in Sidomulyo Village are still very large. The production can be increased by doing intensification, that is improving the cultivation system, and also extensification, that is the expansion of the planting area. Intensification provides a great opportunity to increase productivity and crop production. The low production is due to the lack of farmer’s knowlegde about innovation in cultivatoon tech. The expansion of the area is still constrained by the polyculture system or intercropping between cocoa and other crops which are a source of secondary income. Through good application to innovation in cultivation and processing and the use of potential areas for expanding cocoa growing areas, it can be ensured that the productivity and production of cocoa in Sidomulyo Village can increase sharply. Increased cocoa production will increase farmer’s income and walfare, moreover it will also affect the regional economy. The purpose of this project is to analyze potential and development opportunity of cocoa in Sidomulyo village Lebakbarang district Pekalongan regency. Keywords: opportunity, potency of cocoa, productivity
