Abstract

The correctional institution serves as a place for the rehabilitation of inmates; however, in reality, many prisons in Indonesia are experiencing overcapacity. This condition causes state detention center (Rutan), which are supposed to provide services and care for inmates, to also function as places for inmate rehabilitation. Limited communication between inmates and their close relatives, who have traditionally been their confidants, can lead to feelings of loneliness among inmates if they cannot adapt to their environment. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of religiosity and emotional intelligence on the loneliness of inmates at Class IIB Bangkalan State Detention Center. This research is quantitative, employing multiple regression methods. The sample consists of 82 inmates selected using probability sampling with a random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires distributed to the inmates. This study utilized three measurement tools: The Centrality of Religiosity Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale, and UCLA Loneliness Scale, which included 76 statement items. Data analysis involved normality tests, linearity tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, and multiple regression tests using IBM SPSS 27 software. The results indicate a significant effect of the independent variables (religiosity and emotional intelligence) on the dependent variable (loneliness) based on hypothesis testing results. The significance value obtained is 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the research hypothesis (Ha) is rejected and the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted, indicating a significant influence of religiosity and emotional intelligence on loneliness. The determination test conducted in this study shows an R Square value of 28.3%, while the remaining 71.7% is influenced by other variables not explained in this research. Future research can be conducted with the same variables but with more specific respondent characteristics or by introducing different variables.

Abstract

High school students have a close relationship with technology, making them vulnerable to internet addiction, which may lead to negative consequences such as academic procrastination. This study aimed to examine the relationship between internet addiction and academic procrastination among students. A quantitative method with a correlational design was employed. Data were collected through an online survey using the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) (α = 0.932) and the Procrastination Assessment Scale–Students (PASS) (α = 0.929). The sample consisted of 286 students from SMAN 1 Gabus, selected using incidental sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, including normality testing, linearity testing, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between internet addiction and academic procrastination (r = 0.567; p < 0.001), indicating a moderately strong association. Higher levels of internet addiction were associated with higher levels of academic procrastination among students. These findings highlight the importance of managing internet use to reduce the risk of academic procrastination among high school students.

Abstract

This study maps the development of research on well-being in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease through a bibliometric analysis. As a neurodegenerative disorder, Alzheimer’s not only affects cognitive functions but also the quality of life of patients and their caregivers. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 2000–2024, yielding a total of 1,636 documents, of which 316 articles were selected for analysis using bibliometric software. The findings indicate a growing trend of publications, with a peak in 2021, and highlight key themes such as social support, mental health, and psychological stress. Author and institutional analysis identified Linda Clare and Catherine Quinn as major contributors, while collaboration patterns remain concentrated in Europe and North America. The limited involvement of researchers from Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, suggests that the literature does not yet fully capture diverse cultural perspectives. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the research trajectory on well-being in Alzheimer’s disease while underscoring geographical disparities. Practically, the findings may serve as a foundation for developing culturally contextualized family- and community-based interventions, as well as informing health and psychology practitioners in designing multidisciplinary approaches to improve the quality of life of Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers.

Abstract

Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder in females caused by the partial or complete absence of one X chromosome, significantly impacting neuropsychological development during childhood. Using a bibliometric approach, this study aims to map the global research landscape on childhood TS from 1960 to 2024. Data were sourced from the Scopus database and analyzed using Publish or Perish, Microsoft Excel, and VOSviewer. Results indicate fluctuating publication trends, with a peak in 2005, driven by advancements in genetic diagnostics such as FISH and the Human Genome Project. The United States leads in research output and international collaboration. Keyword analysis identified six main research clusters: quality of life, cognitive function, metabolic disorders, puberty, and early diagnosis. However, gaps remain in research concerning the psychosocial and emotional support needs of TS patients. This study recommends a multidisciplinary approach and further exploration of socio-emotional aspects to enhance interventions and improve the quality of life for children with Turner Syndrome, especially in developing countries like Indonesia, where epidemiological data and public awareness remain limited.

The study load borne by medical education study program students in each academic year can be an academic difficulty that if not resolved will cause stress which can become academic burnout. One way to avoid and even overcome academic burnout is to have academic resilience. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant negative relationship between academic resilience and academic burnout in medical education study program students in Indonesia that can be used as reference for higher education institutions in developing learning that also focuses on maintaining students’ well being. This study used a correlational quantitative research design using The Maslach Burnout Inventory- Student Survey (MBI-SS) scale and the Indonesian version of the ARS Scale. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling with a total of 109 respondents of preclinical students of medical education study programs in Indonesia. The results found that the correlation value between academic resilience and academic burnout was r = -0.64 (p = 0.00 < 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between academic resilience and academic burnout in medical education study programs students in Indonesia.

Abstract

One of the efforts of the Surabaya City Education Department to create child-friendly schools is by forming Pemantik (Best Friend Tutors) communities in various public and private junior high schools in Surabaya. SMPN 32 Surabaya actively participates in this community through educational activities on positive values on social media and participation in educational competitions. However, the results of interviews with guidance and counseling teachers at SMPN 32 Surabaya show that the role of Pemantik members has not been optimally involved as peer counselors. Therefore, researchers conducted peer counseling psychoeducation with a focus on efforts to increase knowledge and understanding about peer counseling. The research method used is one group pre-test and post-test experiments. The results show that there are significant differences in students' understanding but the psychoeducation carried out has not been effective as a form of intervention in increasing their knowledge about peer counseling. These results are based on statistical tests of pre-test and post-test scores with paired sample T-tests and N-Gain tests. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt strategies to improve the effectiveness of psychoeducation programs in increasing understanding of peer counseling by means of role play training as counselees and counselors, as well as simplifying the material presented.
