Abstract

Background & Objective: Diabetes is one of the problems caused by chronic metabolic disorders characterized by high sugar levels accompanied by metabolic disorders of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins as a result of insufficient insulin function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of moist wound healing on post debridement diabetic ulcers. Descriptive research with a case study approach in multiple cases. Method: Data collection methods used surgical nursing care assessment sheets and Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tools (BWAT) wound assessment sheets. The study used 2 patients with the same criteria Result: The results of nursing care obtained in patient 1 are tissue integrity disorders, instability of blood glucose levels, and knowledge deficits. Patient 2 had problems with tissue integrity disorders, physical mobility disorders, and knowledge deficits. After nursing care was carried out, it was found that in patient 1 there was a decrease in wound score from 40 to 37 after moist wound healing treatment. Instability of blood sugar levels has not been resolved, patients get insulin therapy. The knowledge deficit was resolved on the second day. In patient 2, there was a decrease in wound score from 37 to 35 after moist wound healing treatment. Physical mobility disorders have not been resolved and the knowledge deficit was resolved on the second day. Conclusion: Suggestions for patients and families can use the booklet media made by researchers as a guide for wound care, wound observation, diabetic diets, and drug compliance.

Abstract

Abstract

Background and Objective: Stress is a symptom of the biggest disease of the modern century that is often experienced by nurses in hospitals. Stress in the workplace is where employees encounter conditions of overwork, low levels of job satisfaction. One of the causes of work stress is work shift arrangements. The data obtained is that nurses complain of work stress due to the continuing shift schedule or nurses replacing their colleagues' work shifts due to the lack of manpower in the room. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work shifts and nurses' work stress in the maternity ward of Permata Bunda Hospital Purwodadi. Method: This is quantitative research with a cross sectional research method, with a correlation approach, the sampling technique used total sampling, which amounted to 26 respondents.  Results: The test results using spearman rank between work shifts and nurses' work stress, obtained p value (0.000) < α (0.05) which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. With a correlation result of 0.723, it’s concluded that there is a significant relationship between work shifts and work stress. Conclusion: There is a relationship between work shifts and nurses' work stress, meaning that there is a positive correlation between work shifts and work stress. This means that the more inappropriate the work shift, the heavier the nurse's work stress.

Abstract

Background & Objective: Hypertension is a global health issue, increasing morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular complications. Gender differences affect blood pressure regulation, with men generally having higher blood pressure before menopause, while postmenopausal women face a greater risk due to hormonal changes. However, research on gender and hypertension severity remains inconclusive in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the relationship between gender and hypertension severity at Puskesmas Cempaka Putih, Banjarmasin. Method: This cross-sectional study used a quantitative approach. A total of 68 hypertensive patients were selected through purposive sampling. Blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer, while secondary data were obtained from medical records. The Chi-Square test was used to assess the relationship between gender and hypertension severity. Result: Among respondents, 38.2% were men and 61.8% were women. Of the men, 65.4% had Grade 1 hypertension, while 34.6% had Grade 2 hypertension. Among women, 50% had Grade 1 hypertension, and 50% had Grade 2 hypertension. The Chi-Square test yielded p = 0.214, indicating no significant association between gender and hypertension severity. Conclusion: Although gender differences in hypertension severity were observed, no significant correlation was found. Other factors, such as lifestyle and adherence to antihypertensive treatment, may play a more significant role. Future research with a larger sample and additional variables is recommended to further investigate gender differences in hypertension severity.
