Abstract

This study intends to analyze the role of Christian education to the existing social reality, especially the problem of poverty and injustice, in Indonesia. The problem of poverty and injustice in Indonesia is a problem that must be considered. Therefore, educational institutions, especially Christian education, should be able to develop a form of education that is not just make smart learners intellectually (only transfer of knowledge) but is able to provide intelligence holistically, so that learners have intelligence as well as sensitivity to existing social situations. By using qualitative methods, with the approach of literature studies, this study resulted in a conclusion that Christian education should foster contextual spirituality which is based on the way of the cross, because the way of the cross opens up new perspectives for suffering with everyone who suffers. Thus the way of the cross, as a contextual spirituality, opens awareness and fosters empathy to engage directly in every social reality in Indonesia, thus creating efforts to minimize suffering due to poverty and injustice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cultivation of students' Christian Religious Education values with Herbert Spencer's social evolution approach. The literature review method is the approach used in this research. The results show that the process of social evolution starts from individuals who combine themselves into a family, the family joins into a community, the community becomes a society, and the society becomes a state, and so on is a development that emphasizes the process. The planting of Christian Religious Education values in students is the same, that every stage of behavioral and spiritual development of students requires a process. The process referred to here is an effort made by Christian Religious Education teachers to guide and educate students to the realization of Christian Religious Education values in the real lives of students.

Abstract

Early childhood we know that children who are still under the supervision, monitoring of adults, if in a family environment, parents play a role, and in a school environment the teacher plays a role in supervising children. In the interaction of teachers and students is very important to do because this helps a learning activity, or creativity carried out can succeed in achieving good and satisfying targets. The interaction relationship in the creativity activities that do this also builds better teacher and participant relationships. This interaction can be in the communication relationship between two individuals that the teacher and his students will do. The teacher has an important role in this interaction, which has a very large task and responsibility, because the teacher is not just standing in front of the class to convey material only, however, in the interaction activities carried out in creativity, the teacher as a guide, as a director, motivation and who always provides positive reinforcement to children. Children are encouraged to be more participatory, active, and given freedom in the activities that will be carried out. And children are freed to provide an idea - the ideas or ideas they have to be poured into every activity they will carry out. Because if the interaction approach to students is carried out continuously and well built, then the goals or targets can be achieved with good results.

Abstract

The learning process of Christian Religious Education is a systematic activity that involves many components in it. The good planning is needed so all these components can be implemented. This research is motivated by the existence of students who are less actively involved when participating in Christian Religious Education because the class is dominated by educators. This research aims to describe the importance for an educator to plan a learning process that can increase the activeness and involvement of students in learning. The research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a literature study approach. From this research it is concluded that in planning Christian Religious Education learning, an educator needs to: understand the uniqueness of students both in their intelligence and learning styles, formulate learning objectives that are able to facilitate students to be actively involved in learning, use varied learning methods, use supporting learning facilities and infrastructure, and make learning assessments that focus on student activeness.

Abstract

The use of strategies in the learning process is a must to facilitate the achievement of optimal results. A successful learning process requires conditions that do not stress students, and this is the reason why a strategy is important in its role in achieving good learning outcomes in the classroom. A teacher can sometimes lose direction, the trigger for which is very clear, namely without a clear strategy in the learning process, and the goals set at the beginning of the lecture are certainly difficult to achieve. In the context of classroom learning, the use of learning media becomes very important. Every learning media used today has various types, forms, or models, including audio, visual, and motion. The aim of this research carried out by researchers is to discover and explain the use of one of the multimedia learning media which is packaged in the form of games and is free, namely the Quizizz platform, which is a learning technology implemented in Christian leadership courses. Simply put, the aim of using this learning media is so that each student has a greater opportunity to interact, absorb and understand what is conveyed by the lecturer. Researchers conducted descriptive qualitative research through direct observation, individual interviews, and literature study. The aim of this research carried out by researchers was to find out how effective the use of Quizizz! as an alternative as a varied learning medium in the classroom and creates a pleasant learning atmosphere in the classroom, and the results of this research show that students can more easily absorb the material in learning Christian leadership courses through the use of the Quizizz! The results of this research provide a significant contribution to higher education institutions in implementing innovative digital learning.

Abstract

The decline in character is the fruit of the ineffective implementation of transformational-holistic character education. Christian teachers are important in understanding their duties and functions as guides to revitalize character education that touches aspects of students' lives as a whole: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to describe the role of the Christian teacher as a guide in realizing holistic transformational character education. The writing method used is the method of literature review. Holistic-transformational character education is important because students can find identity, meaning, and purpose in life through interaction with the environment and God. Christian teachers must always establish relationships with students, and have a personal relationship with God so that they can imitate Christ as the Great Shepherd, center Christ in education, and have an eschatological mission. This can be realized through strategies, methods, and teaching models that are varied and by the needs of students; providing motivation and support; and presenting good, rich material that remains grounded in Bible truth. Future researchers should examine the social competence of Christian teachers with homeroom/BK, parents, and students in realizing the above.

Abstract

This article presents the problem that teenagers who have not yet been won to Christ are very vulnerable to being influenced by postmodernist thinking. Considering they do not have a solid foundation of faith in Christ. The anticipation is that parents must take the initiative to introduce Jesus to them. The method used in this research is a survey in the form of a questionnaire. The results show that 26 students (65%) out of 40 Christian students at a high school in Bandung City do not yet have a close relationship with Christ. Meanwhile, 14 students (35%) stated that they had experienced new life and had faith in Jesus. This data reflects the attitude of parents who do not fully prioritize spiritual needs in their family. These teenagers are in the midst of a period of panca roba or doubt and are easily influenced by deviant teachings. The challenges faced by spiritual coaches at school are the same as those faced by their parents. The challenge arises to serve and develop them to know Christ personally. In conclusion, winning teenagers to Christ is a priority for parents to anticipate the influence of modernist thinking on them.

Abstract

This article discusses the proactive movement of Christian religious education in responding to social inequalities. Christian religious education has the potential to transform the attitudes and behaviors of individuals and communities, motivating them to actively combat social injustice. Through the teaching of Christian values such as love, justice, and solidarity, Christian religious education can build strong social awareness and encourage concrete actions to address social disparities. This research employs a qualitative literature review aimed at elucidating the progressive proactive stance of Christian religious education in responding to the challenges of social inequality. The discussion yields several opportunities for Christian religious education in addressing social disparities: sensitivity to social issues, fostering inclusivity, empowering individuals in need, and engaging in dialectics.

Abstract

This article discusses the central role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) in shaping the character and behavior of children, especially within the family context. The research highlights the family as an entity formed based on the will of God, emphasizing the significant impact of CRE within the family on the moral development, values, and life perspectives of children. The research methodology utilized for this study involves literature analysis to delve into the role of CRE within the family. The article underscores the vital role of parents as educators, creating Christian values that can be internalized. Additionally, the article addresses challenges while providing existing solutions. Thus, this article presents the crucial contribution of CRE in shaping the moral and ethical foundations of children within the family context, emphasizing the pivotal role of the family as the primary agent in the process of socialization and Christian religious education.

Abstract

Christian religious education plays a crucial role in transmitting Christian values to the younger generation. In this context, communication holds a central role in the process of Christian religious education, encompassing the presentation of material, the flow of discussions, and the reflective processes. Interactive communication emerges as a key element in Christian religious education, where the process refers to the active interaction between the communicator (teacher) and the communicatee (student). Technology has become an integral part of social and educational life. In Christian religious education, the utilization of technology as a tool for interactive communication can enhance student engagement and the effectiveness of material delivery. This research aims to evaluate the role of technology as a medium for interactive communication in the context of Christian religious education. The applied research method is a literature review, enabling the researcher to construct a robust theoretical foundation based on relevant literature in the field. With this approach, it is expected to form a deeper understanding of the contribution of technology in enriching interactive communication in Christian religious education.
