Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the teacher's code of ethics in improving the quality of Christian education learning based on John 13:12-15 in schools. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of the study show that the role of the teacher's code of ethics in schools. Christian Religious Education has been well implemented, but there are still some obstacles in the role of a code of ethics in improving the quality of Christian religious education. These obstacles include the lack of socialization of the teacher's code of ethics to teachers, the teacher's lack of understanding of the teacher's code of ethics, and the lack of sanctions given to teachers who violate the code of ethics. To improve the quality of education, PAK educational institutions must apply John 13:12-15 as a guideline, namely to increase teacher competency through training and seminars, apply innovative learning methods, and develop a quality evaluation system. From the results of this study it is suggested for schools to further increase socialization regarding the role of the teacher's code of ethics, increase teachers' understanding of the code of ethics, and provide strict sanctions to teachers who violate the code of ethics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the social competence of Christian Religious Education teachers in improving the affective domain of students in class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Manuhing. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study stated that the social competence of PAK teachers in class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Manuhing is very important so that Christian Religious Education teachers can manage emotions when teaching in class, can understand students in class, can provide positive self-identity for students, can increase knowledge and understanding school culture, can adopt social values, can behave and act objectively, can adapt to students in class, and can build good communication relationships with students in class. Then, the social competence of Christian Religious Education teachers in improving the affective domain of students in class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Manuhing, namely the teacher builds good communication relationships and understands students with students, understands students' emotions, and tries to help students to be able to live according to values and Christian character.

Abstract

This research is dotted with the phenomenon of family life in the GKE Buntut Bali Congregation, Malan Island District, Katingan Regency through Bedstories (bedtime stories). The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Christian Religious Education in life-oriented families through Bedstories (Bedtime Stories) in the GKE Buntut Bali congregation. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with interview, observation, and documentation data collection techniques. Research findings reveal that generally parents in the GKE Hosanna Buntut Bali congregation have received bedtime stories from their predecessors, both fathers, mothers, grandfathers, and grandmothers. But only some of them are able to pass on to later generations, with categories always, rarely, not even doing so at all. The obstacles faced when telling stories before going to bed are the influence of technology, such as television and cellphones.

Abstract

This article discusses the significant role of Christian Religious Education in responding to the negative impacts of technology use on adolescents in the digital era. The research focuses on how religious principles, including inner peace, self-control, and meaningful goal-setting, provide a strong foundation for adolescents to confront technological challenges. The research methods involve analyzing the content of Christian religious teachings and case studies to comprehend the concrete impacts on adolescents. The findings affirm that Christian Religious Education can shape adolescent character, guide wise technology use, and provide moral foundations to address digital pressures. The discussion highlights the integration of religious values into adolescent life, the development of critical thinking skills towards digital information, and the strengthening of interpersonal relationships. The conclusion emphasizes the urgency of Christian Religious Education as a holistic solution, enabling adolescent growth in spiritual, moral, and emotional aspects amid the complexities of the digital era. Shaping character, guiding prudent technology use, and instilling moral values make Christian Religious Education key to assisting adolescents in navigating digital challenges with overall balance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how the implementation of Christian religious education is related to the formation of adolescent character, how guidance by church servants is related to the formation of adolescent character, how is the relationship between the Implementation of Christian Religious Education and Guidance by Church Ministers together with the formation of adolescent character. Data was collected at the location and from teenagers who are the population, using a Likert scale, interviews and also documentation studies and then analyzed. The results of the research were that there was a very low relationship and there was no significant relationship between the Implementation of Christian Religious Education and the character formation of teenagers, there was a strong relationship and there was a significant relationship between Guidance by Church Servants and the character formation of teenagers, there was a strong relationship and there was a relationship There is a significant relationship between the Implementation of Christian Religious Education and Guidance by Church Servants together with the character formation of teenagers in the Bright Future Congregation of the Kupang New Testament Christian Church. Referrals to the church and related parties to improve the implementation of Christian religious education and guidance by church servants by paying attention to the needs and development of teenagers with Christian character.

Abstract

The use of the word God regrets in Jonah 3:10 often seems to confuse Bible readers, because it contradicts God's omniscient nature. This raises the question of whether God's omniscience is just a context or whether it is really God's nature like that. This paper aims to explain and provide an understanding of the word regret in Jonah 3:10. By using the method of interpretation as well as searching through books and articles, we will analyze the word regret in the book of Jonah 3:10. Jonah was repeatedly told by God to remind them to repent, because God knew that they would repent. That is why God was sorry because He is omniscient. God is merciful and His love is no respecter of persons, even the most sinful people will be forgiven by God. The book of Jonah 3:10 is a testament to God's character.

Abstract

In the dynamics of modern life, the challenges faced by the younger generation in maintaining a balance between spiritual aspects and the material world are increasingly complex. Social changes, environmental pressures, and the influence of technology have significantly influenced their thinking and behaviour. In this context, the role of the congregational pastor or pastor as a spiritual figure is crucial in restoring spirituality and strengthening positive habits for young people. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore young people's experiences and perceptions of congregational pastoral counselling and its impact on the formation of spirituality and positive habits. The research results show that congregational pastoral counselling not only addresses spiritual problems but also helps strengthen the foundation of their spiritual life. This research also identified patterns and themes in positive behaviour change through analysis of counselling participants' narratives. In conclusion, pastoral counselling has an important role in helping young people overcome the challenges of modern life and develop their spiritual potential.

Abstract

This research explores comprehensively the influence of the Christian family education formula in facing the negative impacts of globalization with the research methodology applied, namely qualitative methods and literature studies as well as exploring the suitability of the perspective of the Christian family education formula. Humans, as social creatures, have primary needs such as clothing and food, but the need to communicate with others is also an important part of their lives. In this context, communication becomes a vital tool to enable relationships and interactions between individuals. Data was obtained through in-depth analysis from various literary sources including texts from various journals and books. The findings from this research firmly state that the right education formula applied in the family will greatly influence the determination of each family member in facing the negative impacts of globalization which have recently penetrated each of them into the joints of life, especially in the smallest cell of society, namely the family. The theological implications of these findings provide a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by families in facing the deep negative currents of globalization.

Abstract

The family is a small community that has a major influence on the environment. Building a harmonious environment, starting from family harmony and family cannot be separated from education, where harmony education is the basis in the formation of a good family and the right character according to the word of God. This research aims to explore education in the family in building wholeness in the household. A qualitative method with a literature study approach is used to collect and analyze data. The results of the study explained that a harmonious family education model applied by parents should be a culture that continues to be carried out in building a whole person in a Christian household. Then, the principles of love and peace become the foundation for strengthening the integrity of the Christian family.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the non-linear development of Christianity in relation to population growth. Christianity has been present for about 20 centuries and has proven to endure in various situations. This endurance is evidence that this religion exists according to God's will as the creator of the world, aimed at guiding humanity to align with the divine plan. However, it is unfortunate that the graph of Christianity in terms of quality and quantity shows a tendency to remain constant. The research conducted is an ethnographic study that employs qualitative methods with triangulation techniques to gather data, analyzed using ethnomethodology. The results indicate a 60% decline in quality over four years from 2019 to 2022, and quantity does not align with population growth, sourced from data of five selected denominations around Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This research illustrates the realities and hopes related to the importance of Sunday school organized by the church to maintain existence in terms of quality and quantity among Christians today.
