Wen Chuang Journal is published by the Chinese Language Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languages and Letters, Makassar State University. It is a research journal that publishes various research reports, literature studies and scientific writings with the object of foreign language studies, both language education, linguistics, literatures, cultures, and sinology. Abstract

This research is ex post facto correlational nature that aims to determine how the correlation between interest in learning the German language learning achievements of students of the German language education FBS-UNM. The population in this study were students of the even semester academic year  2020-2021German language education study pogram FBS-UNM totaled 42 students .Its well as a sample in this study (total sample). Data collection techniques used in this study is Lickert Scale and tests. Data were analyzed using correlation techniques "Product Moment". Hypothesis testing results show that there is a significant positive relationship between student interest in learning German with the achievement of students in learning German. This means that the factor of interest of students to learn the German language student achievement semester of academic year 2020-21 majoring in foreign language education study programs German language education. The higher the students' interest in learning the German language lessons, the higher the learning achievements of their German language. KeyWords: correlation, interest, and learning achievement

Nurwahyuni, 2021. "Application of Structural Synthetic Analysis (SAS) in Improving Writing Skills for Class XI Students at MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto". Thesis . Mandarin Education Study Program. Department of Foreign Language Education. Faculty of Languages and Letters. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Burhanuddin). This study aims to improve the writing skills of (hànzì) Class XI students at MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto through the application of Structural Synthetic Analysis (SAS). The sample of this study was the 22 students of class XI MIA II MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto. This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles. This research data consists of two types, namely: qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation while quantitative data was obtained through writing skills tests in cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that the writing skill (hànzì) with the average score of the writing skill test (hànzì) obtained by students from 63.72% with the poor category in the first cycle increased to 77% with the good category in the second cycle. These results indicate that the application of Structural Synthetic Analysis (SAS) can improve the writing skills of (hànzì) Class XI students at MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto.Keywords: Synthetic Structural Analysis (SAS), Writing Skills, (hànzì), Bahasa Mandarin

Abstract

DIAN PRATIWI, 2021. "Ability to Understand the Words (huì), (néng), and (kěyǐ) in Chinese Sentences for Class VIII Students of Frater Makassar Junior High School". Thesis. Mandarin Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languagesand Letters. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Nur Nasharuddin Noni).This research was conducted to obtain data and information about the ability to understand the words (huì), (néng), and (kěyǐ) of Class VIII Junior High School Frater Makassar. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of SMP Frater Makassar which consists of 8 classes with 248 students. Sampling using random sampling technique with a sample of class 8A consisting of 33 students. The research data was obtained through a test of the ability to understand the words (huì), (néng), and (kěyǐ) in Chinese sentences. Data analysis using the average search and percentage techniques with the results of 70.45% included in the category of being quite able to understand. Thus, this study shows that the ability to understand the words (huì), (néng), and (kěyǐ) in Chinese sentences of Class VIII students of SMP Frater Makassar is quite capable of understanding (70.45%). Keywords: Understanding Ability, (huì), (néng), and (kěyǐ), Mandarin Language

Abstract

This research was conducted to measure the effectiveness of Flashcards media in learning Chinese vocabulary. This study applies the Quantitative-Qualitative Research method in quadrant I by using a pre-test to measure students' abilities before flashcards are applied in learning Chinese, Media Flashcards, Post-test to measure students' abilities after learning Chinese by using Flashcards, and guidelines of observations in Research Instruments. The sample of this study was 15 students aged 7-8 years at the Brilliant Mandarin Language Center. Based on the results of the research, the students were very enthusiastic in learning Chinese vocabulary using flashcards and the class atmosphere became very pleasant. In addition, students' ability to master Chinese vocabulary has increased after applying flashcards. The mean score of students in the pre-test was 47.5 which was in the very poor score classification. After the flashcards were applied in learning Mandarin, the general average of the students in the Post-test was 81.25 which was classified as a very good score. This shows that the use of flashcards media is very effective in learning Chinese vocabulary. keyword: Chinese language, vocabulary, flashcards.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to obtain data on the ability to use the negation word 不 (Bù) and 没 (Méi) in Mandarin sentence of class VIII students of Makassar FRATER Middle School. The population in this study was students at class VIII of SMP FRATER Makassar consisting of 8 classes totaling 208 students. The sampling technique was carried out using random sampling, then the sample of this study was class VIII D which 30 students. This research data was obtained from the correct test true and false. Data is analyzed using a percentage technique with a 73%. The results showed that the level of ability to use the negation word 不 (Bù) and 没 (Méi) in the Mandarin sentence of students was in a capable category (73%). Keywords: Negritecting, 不 (Bù), 没 (Méi), Mandarin language.

Abstract

REZNUN MUTMAINNAH, 2021. "Motivation to Learn Mandarin Students for Class VIII Students of Frater Makassar Junior High School". Thesis. Mandarin Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languages and Literature. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Burhanuddin).The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive that used questionnaires as a data collection technique. This study aims to determine what factors that influence that student’s motivation in learning Mandarin in SMP Frater Makassar grade VIII, the sample was taken from one class which consist of 33 students. The results showed that 51.5% of students practiced pronunciation in Mandarin, 63.6% of students were able to work on Chinese questions well, and 72.7% of students were motivated to learn Mandarin because of the teacher's role in providing direction during the learning process. included in the high category. Keywords : Motivation, Learning, Mandarin Languages.

Baso Heriadi, 2021. “The Effectiveness of Power Point Media in Writing Skills Hanzi, a Class VIII Student of the Frater Makassar Junior High School”. Essay. Mandarin Education Study Program. Department of Foreign Language Education. Faculty of Languagesand Letters. Makassar State University (supervised by Muh. Anwar and Misnawaty Usman). This research is an quasi experimental , which has 2 variables, namely power point media as the independent variable, namely writing hanzi as the dependent variable. The population of this study was 209 class VIII students at Frater Makassar Junior High School, the sample used by random sampling in this study was class VIII A students at Frater Makassar Junior High School, which amounted to 20 students as control class and class VIII B Middle School students. First Frater Makassar, which consisted of 20 students as the experimental class. The data of this study were obtained through the Chinese writing test and analyzed using the T test. H1: The use of power point media was effective in Chinese writing skills Grade VIII students of the Frater Makassar Junior High School, were accepted. H0 : The use of power point media is not effective in Chinese writing skills Grade VIII students of the Frater Makassar Junior High School, are rejected. The results of this study indicate that tcount is greater than ttable (13.47> 2.03) with a significant level of 0.05. This means that the use of power point slides is effective for writing Chinese students in class VIII of the Frater Makassar Junior High School.Keywords: Effectiveness, Power Point Media, Writing Skill, And Hanzi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi menulis kalimat siswa kelas IV SD Swasta Frater Thamrin. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas IV SD Swasta Frater Thamrin yang berjumlah 15 siswa. Jumlah sampel terdiri atas 15 orang siswa yang didapatkan secara Total Sampling. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes menulis kalimat dan pemberian angket. Hasil tes menulis kalimat siswa menunjukkan rata-rata  78,6% dan berada pada kategori Baik. Dari hasil penyebaran angket diperoleh data bahwa ada dua faktor berperan penting dalam memengaruhi kemampuan menulis kalimat siswa yakni: 1) faktor pendukung berupa guru selalu membantu siswa ketika ada masalah dalam mempelajari bahasa Mandarin. 2) Faktor penghambat berdasarkan dari pernyataan siswa yakni : Bahasa Mandarin merupakan pelajaran yang susah, guru seharusnya memberikan siswa tugas kelompok latihan menulis kalimat bahasa Mandarin, Siswa hendaknya latihan dan mengulang pelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru baik diluar jam pelajaran maupun di rumah.Kata kunci : Bahasa Mandarin, Kemampuan, Menulis kalimat

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to improve students' Chinese vocabulary through the kahoot application. The sample of this research is 10 students of class X. This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The instrument used is a test of increasing Chinese vocabulary and observation sheets. This study consisted of two, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the application of kahoot could increase students' Chinese vocabulary. This can be proven by the increase in students' Chinese vocabulary from the first cycle, the average obtained is 66.5 and in the second cycle with an average of 82. These results indicate that the students' Mandarin vocabulary has increased by 15.5.

Abstract

INTAN MEYLENIA NAGA-ULAWENG, 2021, "The 8th Frater Junior High School Chinese Text Reading Ability in Makassar". paper. National language education in the Department of Foreign Languages. Language and Writing College. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Burhanuddin). The purpose of this research is to obtain data and information about the reading and comprehension of Chinese texts in the eighth grade of Makassar Junior High School. This study is a quantitative descriptive study. The object of this study is the eighth class of Frater Junior High School in Makassar City, with a total of eight classes and a total of 248 students. The sample of this study is the eighth grade G class with a total of 29 students. The samples were determined by random sampling method. The results of the study showed that the Chinese reading and comprehension abilities of the eighth Class G students belonged to the general category (75.4%). Keywords: reading comprehension ability, Chinese text
