Abstract

When constructing buildings in coastal areas, contact between the materials used and sea air is sometimes unavoidable. Before the concrete reaches its maximum strength at the age of 28 days, it can be exposed to contamination from sea air. Consequently, chemical reactions involving cement, air, and sea air become inevitable. The research aims to ascertain the microstructure, porosity, and mechanical properties (compressive strength and tensile strength) of high-performance concrete utilizing the Self Compacting Concrete method. Two variations of concrete samples are considered, involving differences in the curing water used and the age of the concrete. There are two curing variations: concrete cured with fresh water and concrete cured with seawater. The concrete's age is monitored at 1, 3, 7, 28, and 90 days. In the microstructure analysis of seawater-cured concrete, chloride compounds, ettringite, and Friedel's salt were identified. Both compressive strength and splitting tensile strength show an increase with the concrete curing age, and they are inversely proportional to the concrete's porosity. The mechanical properties of freshwater-cured concrete are slightly lower than those of seawater-cured concrete. However, the difference is negligible, meaning they are nearly identical at both 28 days and 90 days.

Abstract

Concrete is a material that is often used for the construction of building structures, bridges and others. Concrete consists of a mixture of fine aggregate (sand), coarse aggregate (gravel), water and cement. In addition to these materials, concrete is usually also mixed with additional materials. In this study, stone banana stem fiber was used as an additional ingredient in the concrete mix. This study aims to determine the composition of the banana stem fiber mixture in concrete, as well as to determine the cracking behavior of the concrete during testing after the addition of banana stem fiber to the concrete mixture. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the results of the compressive strength test of concrete, normal concrete and banana fiber mixed concrete. The method used is an experimental method with variations of banana tree fiber, namely 0% (normal concrete); 0.25% and 0.5%. In this test, the specimen model was used, namely a test object measuring 60x15x15 cm. The tests carried out were the flexural strength of the concrete which was carried out after the concrete reached the age of 28 days and the shrinkage test which could be seen visually. From the results of the study it was found that the more the mixture of banana fiber waste, the flexural strength value of the concrete decreased, starting from normal concrete with a value of 49.73 MPa, a mixture of 0.25% with a value of 28.63 MPa, and a mixture of 0.5% with a value of 27.19 Mpa.

Abstract

One effort to avoid repetitive work due to errors in construction project planning can be detected from the start by implementing BIM (Building Information Modeling) which can carry out collision analysis (Clash detection) in each discipline of structural work, architecture, MEP and other disciplines. Before the existence of BIM, clashes that occurred in the building construction process were one of the factors causing work costs to increase. So implementing Building Information Modeling is one effort to avoid these problems. In this research, clash detection analysis will be carried out in the PUT Lab building in the structural, architectural and MEP work disciplines. The stages carried out in this research were first carrying out 3D Modeling using Autodesk Revit software on the PUT Lab building, then carrying out clash detection analysis using Autodesk Naviswork software and calculating the cost budget plan for each job affected by clash detection. After carrying out clash detection, clashes can be found that occur in the structural, architectural and MEP work disciplines which after calculating the budget plan can save work costs of up to 80 million rupiah.

Abstract

In the development of the construction world in the modern era like today, many studies are trying to find alternative materials both as added ingredients and substitutes for concrete dough mixtures. One of the ingredients that can be used as added material is palm seeds that have dried, because palm seeds have not been widely used and used, and make the population become waste around the community because when the palm fruit is dry it will fall scattered around the palm tree. Therefore, palm seed research is held as an added material for coarse aggregate in concrete, with the hope of reducing palm seed organic waste and also efforts to minimize the use of natural rock materials. This study aims to determine the results of the bending strength of normal concrete blocks with a size of 60cm x 15cm x 15cm with added palm seeds of 1.5% 2.5% 3.5%. And the results of the study are in normal concrete bending strength worth 4.298 Mpa, in the variant of added material 1.5% worth 3.501 Mpa, in the variant 2.5% worth 3.172 and in the variant 3.5% has a value of bending strength 2.961 Mpa. So the result of bending strength can be seen that the higher the percentage of added material palm seeds, the lower the bending strength. And in the percentage of added ingredients of palm seeds 1.5%, 2.5%, and 3.5% there is no increase in strength, palm seeds cannot be used as a substitute for coarse aggregate.

Abstract

Substructure is more commonly known as a foundation. Foundations come in many types, and the selection of the foundation type is based on soil conditions, technical requirements, environmental factors, and cost. One of the key factors in choosing a foundation is the soil bearing capacity in the area under consideration. Soil bearing capacity refers to the soil's ability to withstand all the loads acting on it. Before designing the foundation, it is essential to determine the soil bearing capacity. Soil bearing capacity is obtained from soil tests, such as the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) or Sounding. The method used in this study employs a quantitative approach with the analysis of secondary data. Based on the results of the soil tests using CPT, with cone resistance values ranging from 139 kg/cm2 to 198 kg/cm2 at depths between 11 meters to 16 meters, mini-pile foundations are used. The dimensions of the mini-pile plate are 10,000 mm x 3,800 mm x 500 mm, and 6 concrete piles with dimensions of 250 mm x 250 mm are used. The total number of 250 mm x 250 mm concrete piles required is 2.

Abstract

There have been many earthquakes in Indonesia, especially West Sumatra. There was a fairly large earthquake, one of which was in 2009 with a magnitude of 7.6 on the Richter scale centered in Padang Pariaman, causing damage to vulnerable structures and loss of life. Therefore, evaluating the seismic vulnerability of buildings before an earthquake occurs is an important step in preventing damage to buildings and loss of life. In this study, a pushover analysis was carried out to determine the level of structural performance. The method used is a 12-storey building where both the existing building and its detailed properties are known, modeled using the Software Structural Analysis Program (SAP2000) Version 23. From the analysis results, the structure of the 12-storey building will experience the first yield point when given the 3rd pushover load, both at in the X-direction and Y-direction and the building structure will collapse when given the 10th pushover load in the X-direction and the 8th in the Y-direction. The performance level of the 12-story building structure is included in the Damage Control (DO) category level for the X-X direction, which means the transition between Immediate Occupancy (IO) and Life Safety (LS). Meanwhile, in the Y-Y direction, the structure is included in the Immediate Occupancy (IO) category level. Thus, in this case the building is still able to withstand the burden of the earthquake that occurred, the building can also be used again when it has received the earthquake load and the risk of human casualties is relatively small.

Abstract

Successful execution of a construction project on time is one of the most important goals, for both owners and contractors. As in the construction of terracotta cafee renovation work which regressed to week 14, causing inaccuracies between the planning schedule and the construction implementation schedule. This study aims as an evaluation to get the fastest time acceleration using the CPM (Critical Path Method) cut and crashing method. From schedule data, RAB, and analysis of wage prices and weekly progress, a network is created and determines the critical path to then be cut and crashed. From the results of the study, it was found that the acceleration of the project can be done up to 77 days 6 days faster than normal days, which are 83 days with an acceleration cost of Rp. 337,649,065.79 or an increase of Rp. 20,125,000 from the normal cost of Rp. 317,524,065.79. The percentage of comparison due to the acceleration of the project using the critis cut and crash path method, that is, for an acceleration time of 5.59% faster than normal time. Meanwhile, the acceleration fee is 6.34% greater than the normal cost. So with this research, the costs incurred become more expensive, but the project completion time becomes shorter and more concise. It done on July 2rd, 2023.

Abstract

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is developing the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT), a national strategic project in the shape of an industrial park. A particularly vital industrial region, the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT) is situated in the northern economic corridor of Java and has access to the Trans Java Toll Road, the rail network, as well as nearby dry ports and port facilities. In order to connect the roads in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT) with district roads and national roads or North Coast roads (Pantura), Package I.4-Road Construction of the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate was constructed. In order to ascertain the pertinent stratigraphic and physical characteristics of the soil on which the construction site was built, a soil investigation was conducted during construction. This process is used to assess whether the soil is stable enough to support the construction of a building. Data will be gathered in the form of soil resistance forces against the sondir or cone layers following an investigation or soil study. The sondir test can also be used to determine the required foundation depth, to precisely determine the original soil's bearing capacity, and to choose the appropriate type foundation to use. Location of Sta. 4+550 has a Box Culvert with sufficient embankment height so that it needs to be replaced as deep as -2.00 meters, while the location of the Box Culvert is at Sta. 8+575 embankment height is higher, it requires analysis of soil bearing capacity and settlement so that the replacement depth and use of mini pile foundation can be determined.
