Abstract

Tana Toraja Regency is known for its hilly topography and fertile soil, which support a rice paddy farming system. However, significant challenges remain in post-harvest management. According to this report, most farmers in Makale District still rely on traditional methods for post-harvest activities such as threshing, drying, milling, and storing rice. This results in high post-harvest loss rates, ranging from 10% to 20%, significantly higher than the national average of 8%-10%. This study uses the SWOT Analysis Method used to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the implementation of rice post-harvest handling strategies. The results of this analysis can be used to formulate recommendations for more effective and sustainable strategies for farmers and other stakeholders. The results of the study by carrying out a SWOT analysis include strengths including long experience, farmer group socialization, quality awareness, weaknesses including dominant age old, limited capital, traditional methods, high yield loss, opportunities including government programs, local rice demand, the role of extension workers, the availability of appropriate technology and Threats including extreme weather, competition with modern areas, limited infrastructure, low farmer regeneration. This study emphasizes the importance of transforming harvest-post-harvest practices from traditional to semi-modern based on farmer groups. A combination of training, provision of tools and ongoing support is essential to reduce yield losses, improve grain quality and maintain agricultural sustainability in Tana Toraja

Abstract

Effective supply chain management of specialty coffee is crucial for maintaining premium quality standards and global competitiveness, yet the processing industry often faces supply and quality uncertainties. High complexity and uncertainty of specialty coffee supply chains, particularly in small-scale processing enterprises of Kayumas Coffee in Situbondo Regency, which may adversely affect operational performance and business sustainability. While previous studies have examined marketing strategies, value addition, and farm-level analysis of Kayumas Coffee, no research has comprehensively analyzed supply chain risks and their mitigation strategies. This research aims to identify risk events and risk agents, as well as formulate priority mitigation strategies. The results identified 12 risk events and 14 risk agents, with climate change being the highest severity risk, while raw material quality variability is the most frequent risk agent. The aggregate risk potential analysis determines that raw material quality, stock shortages, and order fluctuations are the primary priorities to be addressed. The most effective recommended mitigation strategies include controlled inventory management and the implementation of strict supplier selection to ensure the continuity and quality of the coffee bean supply.

Abstract

As a competitive sterilized milk brand in the Indonesian market, Bear Brand heavily relies on its product distribution process to reach consumers. The involvement of distributors in 65% of the channeling process creates a diverse and complex network of distribution channels. The primary objective of this study was to examine the efficiency of Nestle's distribution and to identify critical product attributes that influence channel effectiveness. A survey method was employed in DKI Jakarta, utilizing a sample of 100 intermediary traders drawn from a population of 28,808 outlets. The research instrument was confirmed to be reliable and valid (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.80). The main data analysis utilized Factor Analysis, which was deemed suitable (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) = 0.629), successfully grouping 20 distribution attributes into six principal factors. The results indicate that distribution effectiveness is significantly driven by financial aspects. The three most dominant factors identified were the Profit Margin Factor (supported by adequate profit margin 0.70 and affordable price 0.66), the Price Structure Factor (0.70), and the Product Quality Factor (good product quality 0.60). Supporting factors, such as easy sales requirements (0.62) and daily product availability (0.50), were also significant, whereas the Communication and Information Factor showed a weak correlation (0.35). In conclusion, profitability and quality are the main keys to the success of the Bear Brand distribution channel. Therefore, it is recommended that Nestle strengthen the Profit Margin and Price Structure Factors while simultaneously improving ease of transaction and reviewing the effectiveness of information delivery to distributor.

Abstract

E-commerce is a growing industry where product or service marketing is often supported by the power of influencers: individuals who affect consumers’ purchasing behaviour. In this study, a newly developed E-commerce model was employed to investigate the impacts of various individuals on consumers’ surrounding environment and media on consumers’ online purchasing intentions on general fruit products, including fresh fruits, frozen fruits, and processed fruits. Our study extends the present research regarding the reference effect on online purchasing intention. We identify the key successful factors regarding influencer marketing. Our results indicated that family members, friends, colleagues, and celebrities were the key factors in terms of influence for fresh fruits, frozen fruits, and processed fruits. Trustworthiness, product or industry expertise, credibility, and knowledge characteristics of influencers were identified as the successful factors for influencing consumers. Facebook and websites are identified as important channels of interaction between consumers and influencers for all three types of fruits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the resilience of pisang epe vendors in sustaining their businesses amid modernization in the Pantai Losari area. Previous studies have predominantly emphasized economic aspects in examining MSME resilience, while the integration of cultural and social dimensions remains limited. Therefore, this study addresses this gap by providing a more comprehensive analysis of resilience. The study employs a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative data from in-depth interviews and quantitative data from 152 respondents. The analysis includes validity and reliability tests, as well as multiple linear regression to examine the influence of product quality, price, and service on customer satisfaction and purchase intention. The results indicate that all research instruments are valid and reliable. Empirically, product quality, price, and service have a positive effect on customer satisfaction, with product quality as the most dominant factor. The authenticity of taste serves as the primary competitive advantage in shaping consumers’ perceived value, while price stability creates a perception of fairness, and socially based service strengthens customer loyalty. However, the utilization of digital technology remains limited, indicating that the existing resilience pattern is still traditionally adaptive strong in cultural and social aspects but not yet optimal in digital adoption. The novelty of this study lies in integrating economic, social, and cultural aspects to explain the resilience of traditional culinary MSMEs. This study concludes that business resilience is not solely determined by economic capability but is also influenced by cultural identity and social capital. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening digitalization without undermining traditional values as a strategy for sustaining business competitiveness in the modern era.

Abstract

The plantation sector in Jambi Province is a mainstay sub-sector in economic development, especially for rubber commodities. Rubber is a crop that has been cultivated by the people of Jambi Province as a main livelihood. Smallholder plantations generally produce rubber in the form of processed rubber (bokar). This research was conducted in January-February 2025. Respondents used in this study using a census method totaling 42 people with the categories of low-quality and high-quality Bokar farmers. Data analysis used farmer preference analysis with a farmer income utility approach as well as income analysis and coefficient of variation analysis to determine the level of risk of farmer income. The overall estimation results show that farmer risk preferences for all inputs, both sales in the form of low-quality and high-quality bokar, indicate that all rubber farmers in the study location are risk takers. Judging from the average value of the overall AR shows that the level of preference of low-quality bokar farmers is -0.0026 while the preference of high-quality bokar farmers is -0.00711. Farmers are more likely to have a risk-taking nature. This is because in general, farmers get a relatively stable selling price. In this study, the average farmer income generally shows that the income per hectare for low-quality Bokar is recorded at around Rp 10,396,643, while the average income per farmer for high-quality Bokar reaches Rp 33,726,429. At the risk level, it shows that the level of risk of rubber farmers' income in Muara Tabir District is relatively low, this can be shown by the high-quality Bokar coefficient value of 0.3394 which is greater than the low-quality Bokar coefficient value of 0.2091.
