Abstract

This qualitative study analyzed the management of principal on applying Islamic values in Primary School 28 Rambatan. The intruments in this study were interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that the management was done well. The programs applied in this primary school were speech, praying dhuha and praying dzuhur together, making wall magazine, scout, art contest, sport, social activity, and flag ceremony.Keywords: Management, Islamic Values, Primary School 28 Rambatan.

Abstract

Planning provides a wide range of decisions and explanations of the purpose, policy, program determination, methods and specific procedures. This qualitative study aimed at describing the instructional planning management of Islamic education on upgrading students’ achievement in Primary School Kota Solok. The intruments in this study were interview, observation and documentation. The results revealed that the teachers did make sylabus; annual program; semester program; efeective days; lesson plan; minimum standard criteria; and educational calendar. The teachers also did cooperation with the parents to upgrade students’ achievement. They had an obstacle on assessing students especially on guide book; information; managing time schedule; media; test instrument and lot of material.Keywords:  Management, Instructional Planning, Teacher, Islamic Education, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing the strategy on building the students’ character values in high school 1 Padang Panjang. This study was qualitative by using interview, documentation and observation as instruments. The results revealed that the strategy on upgrading students’ character were applied in intracurricular and extracurricular. In intracurricular, there was morning mentoring program. In extracurricular, there were educational building through small group; night mentoring; Islamic orientation; memorizing quran; Friday praying; annual islamic day; Islamic hiking; Islamic Study Tour (IST); and Ramadhan School. To upgrade the students’ independent, the programs applied were 1) cleaning class; 2) cleaning room; 3) early wake up for praying tahajjud and subuh; 4) washing own clothes. Abstract

This research was purposed at describing the leadership style of headmaster in Secondary School 2 Rambatan. This research used qualitative paradigm by applying case study method. In collecting the data the researcher used tape recorder, interview guideline and observation sheet and applied the techniques of interview, observation and documentary study. The informants of this research were 28 persons which consist of headmaster, the teacher and the administration staff of Secondary School 2 Rambatan. The results of the research obtained that (1) in managing teachers’ competence the headmaster applied strict style and strongly discipline; (2) In motivating teachers’ to improve the students’ achievement the headmaster applied democratic style; (3) In developing curriculum the headmaster applied democratic style; and (4) in managing financial resources the headmaster applied strict style, democratic, and participative. Abstract

This research was aimed at investigating (1) lesson plan based on scientific approach as curriculum 2013 in the class VII of MTs Negeri Padang Luar; (2) the implementation of English learning based on saintific approach; (3) the model of the learning in the curriculum 2013; (4) the use of instructional media; and (5) the assessment process based on curriculum 2013. This research was qualitative descriptive. Data were collected by using documentation, observation, and interview. The results showed that (1) lesson plan used in english learning in the class VII of MTs Negeri Padang Luar accordance to Ministry Rule (Permen) No. 58, 2014; (2) the learning process has reflected the achievement of KI-1, KI-2, KI-3, and KI-4; (3) English learning based on a scientific approach covering five learning experience of observing, questioning, experimenting, associating and communicating feasible although it still not optimal; (4) the use of instructional media is not maximized because infocus display less clear and not attractive; (5) the assessment consist of attitude, knowledge, and skill. Based on this research suggested to the teachers to familiarize themselves communicating in English. Principals should consider the availability of instructional media. Abstract

A qualitative study was conducted at investigating the implementation of authentic assessment in curriculum 2013 on Islamic education and attitude of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman and the factors supporting and inhibiting the authentic assessment. This study applied observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of authentic assessment was run well. The assessment upgraded the students’ interest and students’ creative. The assessment also increased students’ motivation on activities were done in school environment. The factor supported the implementation of authentic assessment was workshop and infrastucture while the factor inhibitted the implementation was too many students in the class. Abstract

System Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is a system of computer aided catalogs in electronic or digital form that allows users to access and search the information in the form of library materials available in the library online and realtime. This study used a quantitative approach to the descriptive type and examined benefit Online Public Acsses Catalogue (OPAC) in STAIN Library. The informant was consisted of users of the system taken Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) in the Library of the STAIN Batusangkar. This research focused on student that use Online Public Acsses Catalogue (OPAC). The data analyisis of this research was related to Miles & Hubberman model (Reduction data, show data and conclusion). Data were collected through observation and interview. The results revealed that Online Public Acsses Catalogue (OPAC) gave users benefit, ease students to find all books in STAIN library fastly. Abstract

This study was aimed at finding out the role of managerial competence of the Principal of State Junior High School 1 Batipuh in improving the school’s quality as mandated in Minister’s Rule of National Education No. 13/2007. This study was categorized as case study of qualitative research. The sources of the data were the principal, teachers, and school employees. The data collection technique used in this research were observation, interview, and documentary study. To ensure the validity of this research, author used data triangulation of source, methods and time. The technique of data analysis was interactive model as stated by Miles and Huberman. This study showed that the role of the Principal's managerial competencies at in improving the quality of the school has been working very well, so that it brings the significant impact on the changing of  the quality of the school. As the top leader in this school, he is able to perform his functions and roles. As a manager, he is able to influence and manage the school in order to give changes to the school as guided by Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional no. 3 tahun 2007, about the standard of the Principal of school/Madrasah, in which one of the competencies that must be mastered is managerial competence. The role of managerial competence of the Head Master of the school  in improving the School quality, namely in designing school plan by creating cooperative relationship with the stakeholders of the school, namely  the school teachers, school staffs, school committees, parents and the community. Moreover, he leaded the school by giving encouragement or motivation to the people in that school. He created conducive culture and comfortable situation for students in learning process, developed the curriculum, and provided services to develop the learners. Those things were closely linked with the role of the Principal to manage the facilities and infrastructures of the school, school finance, and to utilize advancees in technology and to establish a relationship with the community, as well as to monitor and to evaluate the quality of the school.

Abstract

So far, various performance measurements have been done by IAIN Batusangkar, for example,  through Annual Working Report, which illustrates the achievement of targets that have been planned. The development of one of the performance measurements that focuses on measuring the performance of non-financial IAIN is from the consumer view-point namely the students and alumni. It is expected to be able to provide comprehensive improvement on the satisfaction of students and alumni on the quality of service that has been given IAIN, good quality of administration services, quality of service teaching and learning process and all academic processes that have been experienced. This research is a field research i.e.,  descriptive quantitative, that is explaining satisfaction and loyalty of the  students and alumni to the quality of academic and administrative services in the transition period  from State College for Islamic Studies (STAIN) to become State Institute for  Islamic Studies (IAIN) Batusangkar. Based on the calculation of the students' and the alumni's satisfaction, it was found that the obtained total satisfaction was 67.96%, and 76.84%. It means that the consumers' satisfaction (in this case students' and alumni's) on the performance of IAIN Batusangkar has not satisfactory.

Abstract

This paper contributes a lot to the establishment of education in student learning, especially in improving students' active thinking ability. This is due to the lack of qualified sources of educators and hali is focused on educators, because the ability to manage the class become one of the characteristics of a professional teacher. Professional teachers not only have the ability to manage the class well but also skilled in organizing learners to always play an active role and able to improve achievement in learning. The main task of the teacher is to create an atmosphere in the classroom so that the interaction of teaching and learning can motivate the students to learn well and earnestly. For this reason the teacher should have the ability to do good teaching and learning interactions. One capability that is very important is the ability to manage classes. Teachers with all their abilities, students with all backgrounds and individual traits, curriculum with all its components, and materials and learning resources with all its subjects meet and chime and interact in the classroom. In fact, activities that occur in the classroom determine the outcome of an education and learning. Therefore, good classroom management is needed, effective and efficient for teaching and learning activities to run well and educational objectives can be achieved.
