Abstract

In this paper, we present the clockwise-algorithm that solves the extension in ????-dimensions of the infamous nine-dot problem, the well known two-dimensional thinking outside the box puzzle. We describe a general strategy that constructively produces minimum length covering trails, for any ???? ∈ N−{0}, solving the NP-complete (3×3×⋯×3)-points problem inside a 3×3×⋯×3 hypercube. In particular, using our algorithm, we explicitly draw different covering trails of minimal length h(????) = (3^???? − 1)/2, for ???? = 3, 4, 5. Furthermore, we conjecture that, for every ???? ≥ 1, it is possible to solve the 3^????-points problem with h(????) lines starting from any of the 3^???? nodes, except from the central one. Finally, we cover 3×3×3 points with a tree of size 12.

Abstract

Corona virus infection is lethal and life threatening to human life, for prevention it is necessary to carry out quarantined for a portion of susceptible, exposed, and infected population, this kind of quarantine is intended to reduce the spread of the corona virus. The optimal control that will be carried out in this research is conducting quarantine for a portion of susceptible, exposed, and infected individuals. This control function will be applied to the dynamic modelling of Covid-19 spread using Pontryagin Minimum Principle. We will describe the formulation of dynamic system of Covid-19 spread with optimal control, then we use Pontryagin Minimum Principle to find optimal solution of the control. The optimal control will aim to minimize the number of infected population and control measures. Numerical experiments will be performed to illustrate and compare the graph of Covid-19 spread model with and without control.

Abstract

One interesting topic in algebra and graph theory is a graph representation of a group, especially the representation of a group using a non-coprime graph.  In this paper, we describe the non-coprime graph of integers modulo  group and its subgroups, for  is a prime power or  is a product of two distinct primes.

Abstract

Let G=(V(G), E(G)) be a path or cycle graph. A subset D of V(G) is a dominating set of G if for every u element of V(G)\D, there exists v element of D such that uv element of E(G), that is, N[D]=V(G). The domination number of G, denoted by gamma(G), is the smallest cardinality of a dominating set of G. A set D_1 subset of V(G) is a set containing dominating vertices of degree 2, that is, each vertex is internally stable. A set D_2 subset of V(G) is a set containing dominating vertices where one of the element say a element of D_2,  and the rest are of degree 2. A set  D_3 subset of V(G) is a set containing dominating vertices in which two of the elements say b, c element of D_3, deg(b)=deg(c)=1. This paper developed a new combinatorial formula that determines the number of ways of putting a dominating set in a path and cycle graphs of order n>=1 and n>=3, respectively. Further, a combinatorial function P^1_G(n),  P^2_G(n) and P^3_G(n) that determines the probability of getting the set D_1, D_2, and D_3, respectively in graph G of order n were constructed.

Abstract

One type of general insurance is motor vehicle insurance. Premium pricing of general insurance can be calculated by some methods. In this study, Bayes method will be used. The distribution of claim frequency is Poisson distribution and the distribution of claim severity is Exponential distribution. The premium is calculated by multiplying the expectation of claim frequency and the expectation of claim severity. Based on the historical data analysis using the Bayes method, the highest pure premium of motor vehicle insurance in Indonesia is Hino brand and the lowest pure premium is Honda brand. The result of this premium pricing can be used as a reference for the insurance companies to manage their motor vehicle insurance reserves.

Abstract

The economic condition of the parents and their level of education are the determining factors for the level of education of the children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting the level of education of children (socioeconomic status of parents and parents' latest education). The subjects in this study were 100 people of Sayang-Sayang Village who were determined by simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out online using a survey sheet or questionnaire developed with the help of Google Form. The method in analyzing this causal relationship uses ordinal logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the ordinal logistic regression analysis provided two logit models, in which socioeconomic status had a significant effect on the child's education level, while the parents' last education level did not have a significant effect on the child's education level. The first logit model is a logit model that explains the causal relationship between socioeconomic status and the last level of education of high-category children, while the second model is for the middle category level. Research is expected to be one of the references both in the use of ordinal logistic regression and in observing the factors that affect the level of children's education.

Abstract

Discrete event systems, also known as DES, are class of system that can be applied to systems having an event that occurred instantaneously and may change the state. It can also be said that a discrete event system occurs under certain conditions for a certain period because of the network that describes the process flow or sequence of events. Discrete event systems belong to class of nonlinear systems in classical algebra. Based on this situation, it is necessary to do some treatments, one of which is linearization process. In the other hand, a Max-Plus Linear system is known as a system that produces linear models. This system is a development of a discrete event system that contains synchronization when it is modeled in Max-Plus Algebra. This paper discusses the production system model in manufacturing industries where the model pays the attention into the process flow or sequence of events at each time step. In particular, Model Predictive Control (MPC) is a popular control design method used in many fields including manufacturing systems. MPC for Max-Plus-Linear Systems is used here as the approach that can be used to model the optimal input and output sequences of discrete event systems. The main advantage of MPC is its ability to provide certain constraints on the input and output control signals. While deciding the optimal control value, a cost criterion is minimized by determining the optimal time in the production system that modeled as a Max-Plus Linear (MPL) system. A numerical experiment is performed in the end of this paper for tracking control purposes of a production system. The results were good that is the controlled system showed a good performance.

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this article is to apply the method to measure or evaluate the sampling quality of black tea in determining its category or class based on the spectrum of the sampled data. The number of the spectrum of the variable of data reduced by the Principal Components Analysis (PCA) method becomes a new variable that will be classified later by using K-Means Clustering method. This research use 120 sample of tea from Fanning II (F-II), Pekoe Fanning (PFANN), and Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings (BOPF) with 90 sample used for training and 30 sample used for validation. The method and the analysis used in this research gave effective and efficient performance in measuring/evaluating the quality of the black tea sample to determine its class as it showed that the accuracy of K-Means Clustering results is larger than 50%.
