The population in this study were junior high school students in Bangkalan District, while the sample in this study was 7th grade junior high school students. For the sampling technique using purposive sampling technique, because purposive sampling is a sampling technique or data by determining certain criteria or objectives. The instrument used to measure the level of risk of being exposed to COVID-19 in junior high school students in Bangkalan District is an independent assessment instrument or questionnaire with data taken according to the number of samples in this study. According to the results or data obtained by the researcher, it can be concluded that of the 710 junior high school students who filled out the questionnaire there were no junior high school students in Bangkalan District who were at high risk for exposure to COVID-19 or 0%. then there are 63 junior high school students in Bangkalan sub-district who are at moderate risk for exposure to COVID-19. Abstract

Fungal infections continue to increase, this is because Indonesia is a tropical country that has high temperature and humidity, and many types of fungi are resistant to antibiotic drugs. It is hoped that this situation can be prevented by administering the extract of the leaves of Manukan (Rhinacanthus nasutus (L) Kurz) which has the active ingredient Rhinacanthin. The experimental research method was to test the effectiveness of Manukan (Rhinacanthus nasutus (L) Kurz) leaf extract in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans fungi with extract concentrations of 15, 30 and 60% respectively. Data were evaluated using the completely randomized design method by comparing static groups (static group comparison) and positive and negative controls, as many as 5 groups. The results showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone at extract concentrations of 15, 30, and 60% were 10.95 mm, 12.10 mm, and 18.92 mm. Negative control 0.00 and positive control 23.09, so it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Manukan leaves is effective against the inhibition of the growth of the fungus Candida albicans.

Abstract

The eruption of Mount Sinabung can cause pollution to the environment, especially raw water sources for drinking water and can cause health problems. The volcanic ash resulting from the eruption contains various kinds of minerals and heavy metals so that when the eruption occurs, volcanic ash can pollute the surrounding environment, including air, soil and water. Simpang Empat District is one of the districts affected by the eruption in Karo Regency. This study aims to determine the health risks due to exposure to lead in drinking water, the concentration of lead in drinking water and to analyze the characteristics of health risks due to exposure to lead in public drinking water. The research method used was descriptive survey research using a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in Lingga Julu Village and was carried out from February to August 2020. Lingga Julu Village is one of the villages in Karo Regency which was affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung and has a water source from a borehole which is managed by the local village government. The number of samples in this study were 47 respondents with a random sampling technique. The results showed that the lead concentration value was 0.0012 mg / l which was still below the environmental quality standard. The mean intake for real-time duration exposure was 0.00005 mg / kg / day with an RQ≤1 value of 0.013. Descriptively, intake of non-carcinogenic lead is not a risk to health. The estimated intake value for exposure to the next 50 years is 0.0024 with an RQ≤1 value of 0.6. Descriptively, intake of non-carcinogenic effect lead does not have a health risk for the people of Lingga Julu Village for the next 50 years. Keywords : Health risk analysis, lead, eruption, plumbum, intake

Abstract

Background: Dengue virus infection is a serious global health problem. The incidence has increased rapidly within the last 50 years. The clinical manifestations vary from Dengue Fever (DF), Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), to Dengue Shock Syndrome (SSD). Some of the influencing factors are the Body Mass Index (BMI) and the type of dengue infection. The study aimed to determine the association between BMI and type of infection on the severity of dengue infection in adulthood. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 39 patients diagnosed with dengue infection and fulfilling the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling. The data analysis used was the Spearman correlation test. Data collection was conducted by distributing research form which cover sample characteristics, BMI values, clinical manifestations, types of infection and the severity of dengue infection. Results: The total of subject obtained was 37 respondents (23 male and 14 female). The average BMI value was 24.65 ± 5.08. The most common clinical manifestations were fever (100%), nausea/vomiting (91.8%), headache (89.1%), myalgia (89.1%), and arthralgia (72.9%). Most cases of dengue infection were in the normal BMI group and the highest degree of severity was DD. There was a significant relationship with a fairly strong correlation value between BMI and dengue severity (p=0.003; r=0.478). However, there was no significant relationship between the type of infection (p=0.987; r=0.03) with the level of dengue severity. Conclusion: Knowing the risk factors as predictors of dengue severity is very necessary in order to handle dengue infection quickly and accurately.
