Abstract

The development of digitalization has shifted the institutionalization values patterns from conventional to cyberspace, it is containing radical values through the website which also developed along with the development of digitalization. Radicalization in cyberspace requires the counter-sites which committed to religious moderation. NU Online is one of this counter-site. This study uses qualitative methods with data analysis framing techniques. NU Online distinguishes the radicalization and intolerance narratives in cyberspace is a source of the uproar of the national ideology and disharmony in the interfaith relations. In its prognosis strategy, NU Online develops the narratives such as Islam is very compatible with Pancasila. While in its motivational strategy, NU Online invites all elements of the nation to maintain the integration of the nation by publishing the headline such as “four reasons for rejecting the Khilafah”. This counter-radicalization framing is different from that carried out by panjimas.com as a representation of the radical site

Abstract

This paper examines the cultural traditions of meron in Pati Indonesia. A tradition that is interpreted with respect to the prophet by bringing a cone made from large rengginang. The method used is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach that aims to find out the meaning of each meron symbol. The theory used is Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism that narrates three assumptions of symbols, namely meaning as the basis of human action, meaning created from social interaction and meaning modified through reader interpretation. The results of this paper are that the meron tradition has relevance to the teachings of Islam as a form of da'wah. Rengginang as a symbol of gratitude and togetherness, a mosque as a religious symbol and the arrangement of rengginang is a symbol of the levels of Iman, Islam and Ihsan. The relevance of meron to the verses of the Quran, as in the study of QS. al-Baqarah: 260. Rengginang made from rice is hinted at in QS. al-Baqarah: 261 and QS. Al-Fath: 29. While the mosque symbol is strengthened in the QS. At-Taubah: 18-19.

Abstract

This article aims to illustrate and explain the social media era religious guidance activities for children in the ex-localization of Bandar Lampung. The author uses a qualitative sampling design or the determination of informants is done directly (purposive).This article reveals that religious guidance is needed in shaping and fostering religious life through social media because the intensity of interaction is more dynamic and all parties can be subject to information with a network that is open to everyone. The current level of influence of social media on religious life is important to know. The result is the strengthening of religious and religious services making two policy implications, namely the development of integrative insights between formal and non-formal education and strengthening the insight of the use of devices, smartphones so that the function of religious messages delivered is running optimally

Abstract

Umara and Ulama are two groups who are very influential and has very basic relationships on the State of Brunei Darussalam's growth. Basically, Ulama are known as someone who inherits Anbiya's character, they play a role as murshid in Malay society. This phenomenon has been explained by the importance of their names in some rare materials such as manuscripts, stones and artifacts, hikayat and so on. But The Ulama rarely present it as a poetic/syair approach. The work of "Shaer Yang Di-Pertuan" is one of the poems/syair ever written and can be considered as the most important part of Brunei Darussalam. This poems/syair was written by Pehin Royal Khatib Awang Abdul Razak bin Hasanuddin, a famous Ulama from Brunei, around the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This poems/syair was produced by Pehin Siraja Khatib Awang Abdul Razak bin Hasanuddin, a famous Brunei Ulama around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. There are many important events during the reign of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam II (26th Sultan of Brunei) featured in this poems/syair. Based on it background, this study will explain some of the key components of the "Syaer Yang Di-Pertuan". In addition, there are some explanations of how the umara-ulama relationship works at the same time will highlight some of the ulama who involved directly. This is because they have a significant influence on the struggle that took place at that time, especially in spreading Islam in the NBD and its role in the development of nationalism and governance in Brunei Darussalam

Abstract

The phenomena of Mass Marriage is often the case in Indonesia, but the mass marriage with a certain ceremony has been different presented of religious behavior in the community layer. This article discusses about “Rahmat Pura” festivals organized by SPMAA Foundation in Lamongan once a year. The Modernization theory will be examining by the tradition of Rahmat Pura, which is the processing, lasting, and enduring in this modern era. The autors use qualitative methods of conducting intensive interviews with organizers as well as festival participants. The results showed that the interconnectedness between students (santri muslim) and the devotion for pesantren in the era of Islamic modernity remains a preserved tradition.

Abstract

This article will discuss the issue of studying religion through the internet as a new trend among Indonesian Millennial Muslims. This study aims to explain the causes and consequences that can arise from this phenomenon. The results of this study are expected to contribute thoughts in the discourse on Islamic Studies in Era 4.0 which is full of disruption. The method used in the study is library research methods. From the studies conducted, it was concluded that this phenomenon emerged as an impact of the rapid development of information and communication technology. The positive side of this phenomenon is efficiency in religious learning. However, this phenomenon also raises the negative side of the threat of religious radicalism content infiltration that is also spread online. So that, caution is needed in interpreting this phenomenon which has become a trend not only in Indonesia but also throughout the world

Abstract

This article examines the process of meaning construction of mythology which takes its toll on cultural reconstruction in a society. The researcher employed Roland Barthes's Semiotic theory. By this theory, mythology is examined based on the significance of meaning, from denotation to connotation through the operationalization of sign, signifier, and signified. The object of this research is the people of Bubakan Mijen Semarang. The data collection technique includes observation and interview. This study shows that the cultural variants in the Bubakan Mijen Semarang community such as punggahan, pudunan and kabumi are rooted in mythology which emerged and passed down from generation as an ultimate value which is influenced by the factors of ideology, geography, economics, and education. This article signifies the importance of knowing the cultural roots of society through the repositioning of mythology, from historical science to formal science
