The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This article provides a scientific analysis of modern training methods used in teaching technical and tactical actions in wrestling. It examines the interrelationship between technical and tactical preparation, the step-by-step process of their development, and their importance in competitive performance. The effectiveness of simulated training, situational training, video analysis, as well as interactive and differentiated approaches is substantiated. The article also highlights the importance of integrating technical-tactical preparation with physical and psychological training, as well as the use of modern technologies and monitoring tools. The results of the study demonstrate the necessity of a comprehensive and scientifically grounded approach to the effective development of technical and tactical skills.
THE ENIGMATIC GUIDE AND THE FORMING OF THE SOUL: A COMPARATIVE-TYPOLOGICAL STUDY OF FAIRY-TALE ARCHETYPES IN LUQMON BO’RIXON’S “SIRLI MUALLIM” AND PATRICK NESS’S “A MONSTER CALLS” Yo’ldosheva Go’zal Nasrullayevna

Abstract

This article offers a comparative-typological reading of two works of modern children’s and young-adult prose – the Uzbek writer Luqmon Bo’rixon’s novella Sirli muallim (“The Mysterious Teacher,” 1991; collected 2006) and the English-language writer Patrick Ness’s A Monster Calls (2011) – in order to show how inherited fairy-tale archetypes are reactivated in contemporary literature as instruments of spiritual and moral formation. Drawing on the morphological tradition of Vladimir Propp, the archetypal psychology of Carl Gustav Jung, Joseph Campbell’s account of the mentor and the “supernatural aid,” and Bruno Bettelheim’s psychology of the fairy tale, the study argues that both texts are organised around a single deep structure: the arrival of an enigmatic guide who subjects a younger protagonist – or a whole community of learners – to a symbolic trial and thereby precipitates an inner awakening. The analysis identifies the convergent core of this structure (the wise or supernatural mentor, the motif of the test, and the function of story as a healing and educative force) while foregrounding the national-cultural specifics that distinguish Bo’rixon’s Eastern, classroom-centred ethical didacticism from Ness’s Western, grief-centred therapeutic individualism. The article concludes that comparative archetypal reading is a productive framework for understanding how children’s literature across traditions performs the shared work of spiritual education.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the most essential skills in foreign language learning, particularly at the B2 proficiency level where learners encounter increasingly complex academic and authentic texts. However, insufficient vocabulary knowledge often creates significant barriers to successful comprehension. This study investigates the effectiveness of vocabulary pre-teaching in enhancing reading comprehension among B2-level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. The research was conducted among students of Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages through a structured questionnaire designed to explore learners’ experiences, perceptions, and attitudes toward vocabulary pre-teaching practices. Quantitative findings indicate that vocabulary instruction prior to reading activities positively affects learners’ comprehension, confidence, motivation, and overall reading performance. The results reveal that pre-teaching key lexical items reduces cognitive load, facilitates text processing, and contributes to more effective engagement with reading tasks. The study highlights the pedagogical importance of integrating vocabulary pre-teaching into reading instruction and provides practical implications for EFL educators seeking to improve learners’ reading outcomes.

Abstract

This article attempts a comprehensive analysis of the artistic structure of Ludmila Ulitskaya’s novel Medea and Her Children through the prism of the concept of "family lineage" and the multilayered image of home. The central focus of the research is the figure of Medea Sinopli, who is interpreted as a living link between the past and the future, transforming biological kinship into profound spiritual continuity. The author explores in detail how the Crimean coast and the old house become not merely geographical settings, but a sacred space ("genius loci") that stands in opposition to the historical chaos of the 20th century. The paper argues that the transformation of the ancient myth allows Ulitskaya to affirm new values of matriarchy, where the childless heroine becomes a true mother to the entire extended family, uniting different ethnicities and cultures into a single "cosmos" of lineage.

Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of word formation processes in Uzbek and English food vocabulary. Food-related lexicon is considered a culturally significant layer of language that reflects national identity, traditions, and lifestyle. The study investigates major morphological mechanisms such as compounding, affixation, borrowing, blending, clipping, and multiple word-formation processes in both languages. Special attention is given to typological differences between Uzbek as an agglutinative language and English as an analytic language, which significantly influence lexical formation strategies in culinary terminology. It also demonstrates how globalization and intercultural contact contribute to the enrichment and transformation of food vocabulary in both languages and the findings show that although Uzbek and English differ structurally in word-formation patterns, both systems actively reflect cultural experience and continuous lexical development. The study contributes to understanding the interaction between morphology and cultural linguistics in the domain of culinary vocabulary.

Abstract

The development of environmental competence among students has become one of the priority objectives of higher education in the context of increasing global environmental challenges. This paper examines the pedagogical potential of an integrative approach in fostering students’ environmental competence.
