The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The efficiency of catalysts used in the petrochemical industry largely depends on the properties of their supports. Catalyst supports serve to uniformly disperse active components, enhance their mechanical strength, and increase the available reaction surface area. Therefore, the development of high-quality catalyst supports from inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and locally available raw materials is one of the pressing challenges in modern catalysis. Kaolin deposits located in Uzbekistan represent a promising source of raw materials for the production of aluminosilicate materials. In recent years, interest in the development of diesel distillate hydrotreating processes has increased significantly due to the growing volume of sulfur-containing and high-sulfur crude oil processing, as well as the widespread dieselization of transportation systems. It is well known that low-sulfur diesel fuels with improved performance characteristics are produced through the hydrotreatment of straight-run fractions and secondary feedstocks. Therefore, hydrotreating technologies have become one of the most important processes in modern petroleum refining, ensuring compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations and fuel quality standards.

Abstract

Taking up cats, which have been kept as pets since ancient times in Japan, we study the origin of the name "cat" and also study, from a linguistic standpoint, idioms and proverbs including a word "cat" that have arisen and been used in relations between humans and cats. We investigate the function of particles " wa " and " ga " in idioms and proverbs that have "cat" as a subjective word. We also investigate their function in relation to the subjective word in idioms and proverbs that have "cat" as an objective word. Based on these considerations, we try to understand that the meaning of idioms and proverbs including a word "cat" can be determined in relations between humans and cats from ancient times to modern times.

Abstract

The ecological degradation of pastures in the Aral Sea region has become a major environmental and socio-economic concern due to desertification, soil salinization, vegetation loss, and climate change impacts. Traditional methods of pasture assessment are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, and limited in spatial coverage. Recent advances in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, have provided new opportunities for efficient environmental monitoring. This study examines the application of GIS technologies and drones for assessing the ecological condition of pastures in the Aral Sea region. GIS enables the integration, analysis, and visualization of spatial data obtained from satellite imagery, field surveys, and drone observations. Drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and multispectral sensors allow detailed monitoring of vegetation cover, biomass productivity, soil salinity, and land degradation processes.

Abstract

Postmodern literature is characterized by its rejection of traditional narrative conventions and its embrace of experimental forms of storytelling. Among its most significant features are narrative fragmentation, intertextuality, and transtextuality, which have transformed the ways literary texts are constructed and interpreted. This article examines the theoretical foundations of narrative fragmentation and explores the concepts of intertextual and transtextual relations as essential components of postmodern literary discourse. Drawing upon the theories of Julia Kristeva, Mikhail Bakhtin, Gérard Genette, and other prominent scholars, the study investigates how fragmented narratives and textual interconnectedness challenge notions of originality, coherence, and authorial authority. The article argues that these techniques not only reflect the complexity of contemporary reality but also encourage readers to participate actively in the creation of meaning. Through a theoretical analysis of postmodern narrative practices, the study highlights the significance of textual plurality in contemporary literary studies.

Abstract

This article provides a comparative-typological analysis of the linguocultural features of words denoting place names (toponyms) in the Uzbek and English languages. The main aim of the study is to reveal the national identity, cultural memory and worldview reflected in toponymic units. Toponyms are regarded not merely as labels designating geographical objects, but as cultural codes preserving the historical experience, beliefs, values and collective consciousness of a people. The findings demonstrate that concepts such as nature, fertility and spiritual-religious notions prevail in Uzbek toponymy, whereas concepts of land ownership, social structure and industrial heritage dominate English toponymy.

Abstract

Contemporary detective fiction has undergone significant transformation in recent decades, shifting its focus from the mere investigation of crimes to the psychological exploration of criminals and their motivations. Modern detective novels increasingly emphasize the inner world of offenders, presenting crime as a result of complex psychological, social, and emotional factors rather than as a simple violation of legal norms. This article examines the representation of criminal psychology in contemporary detective fiction and analyzes the narrative techniques employed by authors to portray criminal behavior. Using qualitative textual analysis, the study explores selected contemporary detective novels and identifies key patterns in the depiction of criminal minds. The findings reveal that contemporary detective fiction relies heavily on psychological realism, trauma-based characterization, and multifaceted narrative structures to create credible and compelling criminal characters. Such representations contribute to a deeper understanding of human behavior and demonstrate the growing importance of psychological analysis within the detective genre.

Abstract

The increasing demand for effective language instruction has led educators to explore learner-centered approaches that promote meaningful communication and practical language use. Among these approaches, Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) has gained considerable attention due to its emphasis on real-life communication and active learner engagement. This article examines the importance of using TBLT in teaching adult learners. Through a review of relevant literature and analysis of pedagogical practices, the study highlights the benefits of TBLT in enhancing communicative competence, learner motivation, and practical language application. The findings suggest that TBLT provides adult learners with authentic opportunities to use language in meaningful contexts, making it a valuable method in adult language

Abstract

This article examines the specifics of teaching Russian as a non-native language in secondary school. The study analyses the linguistic, psychological, and methodological challenges that characterise this educational context and identifies the factors that distinguish Russian language instruction in national schools from teaching in native-language environments. Special attention is given to the communicative barrier — the gap between students' grammatical knowledge and their ability to use the language in real communication — as one of the central problems in this field. The article argues that effective teaching of Russian as a non-native language requires a methodology that goes beyond grammar instruction and addresses the communicative, cultural, and psychological dimensions of language acquisition. A set of practical approaches is proposed, including communicative practice, audiovisual exposure, role-based activities, and the development of inner speech. The study concludes that the specifics of the national school context demand a purposefully designed methodological system that fosters both linguistic accuracy and communicative confidence.
