The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between grammar mastery and writing ability among secondary school students. While grammar is often considered a foundation for writing competence, this paper questions the extent to which grammatical proficiency truly determines writing performance. Drawing on classroom-based observations and the analysis of the 'Past Tenses Mystery and Recurrent Composition' task, this study suggests that communication skills and contextual awareness can sometimes compensate for limited grammatical accuracy. Findings imply that while grammar facilitates clarity, writing ability ultimately depends on broader cognitive and creative processes.

Abstract

It is well known that, in compound words containing numeral components, words belonging to the numeral category and functioning as the first component play an important role. Therefore, we became interested in determining which numerals occur most frequently in such compounds and found that the numeral “bir” (“one”), the first and basic numeral, participates as a component in a large number of words. Consequently, we will attempt to analyze the numeral “bir” in greater depth.

Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of studying the life and works of N. A. Nekrasov in academic lyceums of the Republic of Uzbekistan through the use of modern pedagogical technologies. The necessity of transitioning from the traditional informational and reproductive model of education to competency-based, learner-centered, and communicative-activity approaches is substantiated. The article presents the results of a methodological analysis of the effectiveness of interactive technologies, including the case-study method, critical thinking development technology, problem-based learning, digital educational platforms, and project-based learning in the study of the Russian poet's works. A model for the formation of students' literary competence is proposed, based on the integration of digital tools, analytical work with literary texts, and interdisciplinary connections.

Abstract

This article examines the methodological foundations for teaching the life and literary heritage of Muqimiy, one of the prominent representatives of nineteenth-century Uzbek classical literature, in academic lyceums. The study focuses on competency-based education, learner-centered instruction, innovative pedagogical technologies, and interactive teaching methods. Particular attention is given to the application of problem-based learning, project-based learning, Bloom’s taxonomy, case-study methods, digital educational technologies, and formative assessment in developing students’ literary competence, critical thinking, historical awareness, and aesthetic appreciation. Based on theoretical analysis, a methodological model for teaching Muqimiy’s literary heritage is proposed. The findings contribute to improving literature instruction in academic lyceums through contemporary educational approaches while fostering students’ national identity and cultural values.

Abstract

The article revisits the early reception of Alisher Navoi in Russian cultural space during the Pushkin era. The study emphasizes that the first Russian encounters with Navoi were not full literary translations but rather scholarly references, descriptive notes, paraphrases and fragmentary renderings produced within the broader development of Oriental studies. The Pushkin era created a cultural atmosphere in which interest in Eastern literatures, translation and comparative literary thinking became particularly visible. The article argues that these early forms of reception prepared the ground for later academic translations and systematic studies of Navoi’s legacy.

Abstract

. This article examines the theoretical foundations of studying artistic detail as an important element of a literary work. The main approaches to defining the concept of artistic detail, its functions, typology, and role in creating artistic imagery are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the significance of detail in revealing the author's intention, characterizing literary characters, and shaping the artistic space and time of a work. The study emphasizes that artistic detail serves as an essential means of expressing the ideological and aesthetic content of a text and contributes to a deeper understanding of its semantic structure.

Abstract

This article analyzes the conceptual field of life, fate, and homeland in English and Uzbek literary texts. It argues that these concepts create a semantic and emotional framework through which characters understand themselves, society, and moral responsibility. The research relies on cognitive and comparative approaches and uses Mamatkulova’s interpretation of universal concepts as a theoretical foundation. The article shows that English texts often emphasize individual destiny and social self-definition, whereas Uzbek texts frequently connect the same concepts with collective memory, family, national belonging, and spiritual endurance.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation and impact of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology within the secondary and primary education sectors of Uzbekistan. Drawing on recent pedagogical research and case studies from local schools, the study highlights how teaching subjects like art, science, or history through a foreign language (primarily English) enhances students' communicative competence and cognitive flexibility. The findings reveal a generally positive attitude among learners, with improved motivation and natural language acquisition through context-based learning. However, the article also identifies significant barriers to broader success, including the urgent need for specialized teacher training, the development of context-sensitive materials, and institutional support to overcome linguistic gaps between students and subject matter.

It analyzes their semantic characteristics, contextual usage, and their role within the lexical system of the language. Abstract

This article studies the anthropocentric interpretation of universal concepts in English and Uzbek literary discourse. It examines how literary texts place the human being at the center of conceptualization and how personhood, memory, time, family, love, and moral choice structure artistic meaning. The research uses Khalida Mamatkulova’s ideas about universal concepts, typological similarity, worldview, and national identity. The article argues that both traditions represent the world through human experience, emotion, and value while constructing the human being through culturally specific models of selfhood and responsibility.
