Abstract

This paper discusses the strategy of strengthening the character education of learners through broken windows approach. Character education is interpreted as a value education, character education, and moral education, whose purpose is to develop the ability of learners to make a decision of the good and bad, to maintain goodness and to realize the good in their daily life deeply. The main problem faced in the world of education today is the decline of moral values ​​and character of learners, ranging from the level of primary education to secondary education. The problem is a very distant portrait of the educational character that we expect together, from the case of the students torturing the teacher to death, the learner challenges the teacher, the parents of the learners persecute the teacher, friend bullying, harassment, violence, brawl, etc. These events will certainly not happen if all the citizens of the school care and can prevent it from the beginning. Broken Windows Theory is one of the alternative solutions to the problems that are engulfing education in Indonesia. The strategy of using this theory is by making early prevention of negative behavior that is considered small but the beginning of a larger behavior. Application of Broken Windows theory in the world of education is expected to form learners with better character.

Abstract

The empirical condition of character problem of young generation, especially among students, has become the main concern of Indonesia. Schools become a strategic place to seed good character and eliminate existing moral anomalies. Of the various programs and models of character education, student halaqah can be used as an alternative model. With various values of urgency and superiority, halaqah is considered effective for the formation of student character. This will be accomplished by sustained systematic management of halaqah covering program planning, team building, socialization, program implementation, guidance to evaluation and follow-up.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively review the management of pesantren in Mahad Tahfizh Isy Karima Karangpandan Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. There are six aspects of pesantren management that will be studied in this research, namely curriculum, educator and educational staff, facilities and infrastructure, student, financing, and public relations. This research is a qualitative research that uses in the form of interviews, observation and documentation as data collection techniques. Stages of data analysis include data reduction, data display, and conclusion of data on aspects of pesantren management. The findings of this research are: on the curriculum side is applied the blend of curriculum 2013 with curriculum boarding school. In the aspects of management of educators and educational personnel is applied an open pattern, especially in the recruitment process carried out by publication and prioritizing competence. In the aspect of infrastructure, student and finance is implemented modern management with attention to management functions. while on the public relations aspect is prioritized the interests of stakeholders under the command of the madrasah committee.

Abstract

This paper is aimed at discussing the strategic role of school (madrasah) in the country. Madrasah is one of the Islamic educational institutions that have an important role for the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. Madrasah is a place to galvanize the mental, moral, and spiritual of the young generation to educate students to be useful beings for the religion, state, and nation. Private Madrasahs as one of the Islamic Education Institutions in Indonesia have a strategic role in the participation of the nation's intellectuals. In the next developments, private madrasahs face complex issues. In one hand, there is a demand to improve the quality in order to compete with state Islamic education institutions and public schools, but on the other hand, the attention of the government, both central and local, to Islamic educational institutions is still low, even they are still placed not as the main class, but the second class of education institutions. The Ministry of Religious Affairs, which became the central policy, began to formulate serious efforts to improve the quality of madrasahs, such as through the Ministry's Strategic Plan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how much improvement of the ability to arrange teaching materials and how high the motivation of composing teaching materials through continuous mentoring for teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Tamrinussibyan 1 Alhikmah, Benda, District of Sirampog, Brebes Regency in the Second Semester II Lesson of Academic Year 2017/2018. This study aims to describe the ability of teachers in preparing the teaching materials through continuous mentoring and describe the motivation of teachers in preparing the teaching materials with continuous mentoring. Data were collected through observations and interviews conducted 2 cycles. The results of the assessment are as follows: the highest value was 85, the lowest was 65, and average score was 76.5. There was an average increase in the ability of 29.66% of teaching materials in cycle I. In cycle II the average was 87. The highest score was 93 and the lowest score is 83. There was an increase of 13.73% in cycle II. Teacher's motivation improved significantly in cycle I and cycle II. Thus there is an increased ability to prepare teaching materials through continuous mentoring.

Abstract

Penanaman pendidikan karakter sejak dini merupakan harga paling mahal yang perlu dibayar oleh orang tua pada anaknya. Karakter menjadi dasar utama pendidikan karakter lainnya. Dengan memiliki karakter anak akan mampu menghiasi perbuatan-perbuatannya yang baik berlandaskan nilai-nilai religiusitas. Tulisan bertujuan mendeskripsikan tentang pendidikan karakter religius pada anak melalui peran keluarga. Dalam keluarga orangtua memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam pembentukan karakter anak. Karakteristik anak berkarakter terlihat apabila anak dalam perilaku sehari hari didasarkan pada pengabdian keyakinan terhadap Tuhan, mau menjalankan ibadah, memiliki pengetahuan agama yang cukup, memiliki penalaman beragama dan mampu mengaktualisasikan ajaran agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam prakteknya pendidikan karakter dalam keluarga dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa metode yakni : Pengajaran, pembiasaaan,nasehat dan motivasi, pengawasan dan pemberian penghargaan dan hukuman

Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang pendidikan karakter. Pendidikan karakter perlu dikuatkan oleh pihak terkait, yaitu : Keluarga, instansi pemerintah dan masyarakat. Tanpa adanya pendidikan karakter akan menurunnya kualitas moral generasi muda Indonesia, seperti yang kita lihat di media cetak dan elektronik yang menampilkan moral karakter siswa-siswi kita yang sangat bobrok. Di stasiun televisi ditayangkan tindakan menyontek saat ujian, minum-minuman keras, merokok, narkoba, pergaulan dan seks bebas, tawuran antar pelajar, peredaran video porno di kalangan pelajar serta tindakan kriminal dan aksi brutal lainnya menuntut diselenggarakannya penguatan pendidikan karakter. Salah satu pendekatan pendidikan karakter yang dapat digunakan adalah pendekatan pengembangan rasional, pertimbangan, klarifikasi nilai, pengembangan moral kognitif, perilaku sosial, dan penanaman nilai. Pihak terkait dituntut untuk memainkan peran dan tanggungjawabnya untuk menanamkan dan mengembangkan nilai-nilai yang baik dan membantu anak membentuk dan membangun karakter mereka dengan nilai-nilai yang baik. Pendidikan karakter diarahkan untuk memberikan tekanan pada nilai-nilai tertentu –seperti rasa hormat, tanggungjawab, jujur, peduli, dan adil– dan membantu anak untuk memahami, memperhatikan, dan melakukan nilai-nilai tersebut dalam kehidupan mereka sendiri. penguatan pendidikan karakter menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mengurangi merosotnya moral bangsa yang terjadi pada saat ini.

Abstract

Tulisan ini untuk mengungkap salah satu persoalan yang ada di madrasah sebagai akar penghambat dalam peningkatan mutu madrasah. Hasil pengamatan dan kajian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa madrasah dihadapkan pada posisi yang dilematis sebagai lembaga pendidikan. Seharusnya madrasah diberikan kewenangan yang luas dalam pengelolaan madrasah, terlebih saat ini adalah era otonomi daerah. Pada era otonomi saat ini salah satu konsep yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan adalah dengan manajemen berbasis sekolah. MBS merupakan strategi untuk mewujudkan sekolah menjadi lebih bermutu dengan memberikan wewenang yang luas kepada Madrasah. Walaupun Madrasah berada di bawah naungan Departemen Agama namun konsep MBS tetap dapat diimplementasikan berdasarkan atas kesesuaian MBS sebagai strategi mengatasi masalah Madrasah. Pengimplementasian Manajemen Berbasis Madrasah dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas madrasah sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

Character leadership in educational institutions is instrumental values to move the enthusiasm of others to be willing and have a responsibility to achieve the vision of educational institutions. Characteristic leadership values that need to be inspired by leaders of educational institutions are honest, visionary, capable of being trendsetter and smart. This value becomes a terminal value or becomes an instrument value in realizing the excellence and image of educational institutions. In the context of public relations management in educational institutions, the role of character leaders is to be the main inspiration in delivering information about educational institutions to stakeholders. The importance of the role of character leaders in planning and implementing it so as to produce useful information for stakeholders.

Abstract

Kepala sekolah merupakan pemimpinan pendidikan tingkat satuan pendidikan, yang harus bertanggung jawab terhadap maju mundurnya sekolah yang dipimpinnya. Tidak jarang kepala sekolah menerima ancaman, jika dia tidak dapat memajukan sekolahnya maka akan dimutasikan atau diberhentikan dari jabatannya. Oleh karena itu, kepala sekolah dituntut untuk memiliki berbagai kemampuan, baik berkaitan dengan masalah manajemen maupun kepemimpinan, agar dapat mengembangkan dan memajukan sekolahnya secara efektif, efisien, mandiri, produktif, dan akuntabel. Kondisi tersebut menuntut berbagai tugas yang harus dikerjakan oleh para tenaga pendidik sesuai dengan peran dan fungsinya masing-masing. Profesi guru sangat identik dengan peran mendidik seperti membimbing, membina, mengasuh, ataupun mengajar. Guru harus memiliki integritas dan kepribadian yang baik dan benar. Hal ini sangat mendasar karena tugas guru bukan hanya mengajar tetapi juga menanamkan nilai-nilai dasar pengembangan karakter siswa.
