Abstract

In 2020, during COVID-19 pandemic, to maintain the smooth flow of work and reduce the chance of getting infected and transmitting the virus, businesses had no choice but to shut down the offices and adapt remote working. The development of information and communication technologies has made it possible for workers to work remotely without much difficulty. Like everything, working from home has upsides and downsides of its own. Thus, the objective of this study was to describe the benefits of remote working along with the challenges that comes with it. With the help of existing literature, the study also identified organizational practices that will improve the experience of remote working for employees. The research finds that setting clear goals, use of appropriate communication tools, establish clear remote work policies and norms, flexibility, timely performance assessment and feedback, and mental health assistance enhances the successful implementation and employee’s experience in remote working.

Abstract

This descriptive quantitative research evaluates compliance with and perceptions of hand hygiene practices among healthcare workers in hospitals in the city of Prabumulih and in the district of Muara Enim. Employing a simple random sample, 115 healthcare professionals were surveyed using a questionnaire based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) administered via Google Forms. The study primarily focuses on various perceptions including susceptibility, severity, benefits, barriers, cues to action, and self-efficacy towards hand hygiene. Statistical analyses, both descriptive to outline the general tendencies and inferential to explore the interconnections between different HBM constructs, aim to provide insights into the factors influencing hand hygiene practices. This research underscores the critical gaps between knowledge and actual hand hygiene behavior, particularly evident among healthcare students, highlighting the need for targeted educational strategies to enhance compliance and reduce disease transmission effectively.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of the Indonesian Healthcare Facility Accreditation Agency (LAFKI)'s Person-Centred Care (PCC) principles in healthcare settings. Focusing on patient experiences, the research addresses the effectiveness of PCC practices in enhancing health outcomes and patient satisfaction. The methodology employed involves a quantitative descriptive design, gathering data through questionnaires distributed via Google Forms to participants selected through purposive sampling from hospitals, clinics, and puskesmas. Findings indicate that while a majority of patients felt treated as unique individuals, a significant gap exists in respecting cultural values and beliefs during the decision-making process. The study highlights the need for healthcare providers to improve cultural sensitivity and patient engagement to bridge the ideological and practical implementation of PCC. The research contributes to the empirical literature by identifying barriers to effective PCC implementation and offering evidence-based recommendations for healthcare facilities to enhance their services. This aligns with LAFKI's goal of not just meeting but exceeding standards in providing holistic, person-centred care.
