Abstract

Periodontal disease is a complex oral health condition with a high prevalence and significant impact on quality of life, as well as associations with systemic diseases. Tooth mobility is a critical clinical sign reflecting the severity of periodontal disease and requires appropriate management to prevent tooth loss. A one-day training on the management of mobile teeth was conducted at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Airlangga, aiming to enhance the clinical competence of dental students and practitioners through an evidence-based approach. The training methodology included scientific presentations, clinical case discussions, and pre- and post-training evaluations. Results demonstrated a 28% improvement in participants' knowledge, indicating the effectiveness of the instructional methods. This training contributes substantially to the development of clinical skills, strengthens academic and professional networks, and supports the advancement of periodontal health services in Indonesia. Continuation and expansion of similar programs are recommended as part of ongoing efforts to improve evidence-based dental practice and regenerative technology integration.

Abstract

Tooth mobility is a common clinical manifestation of advanced periodontal disease that affects chewing function, aesthetics, and patients’ quality of life. Managing this condition requires a comprehensive approach, including stabilization procedures such as splinting and adjunctive therapies like chlorhexidine. To enhance healthcare providers' competencies, Muhammadiyah Hospital Malang conducted a clinical training workshop on the emergency management of mobile teeth. This workshop involved 30 dentists and covered theoretical knowledge, hands-on practice of splint fabrication using orthodontic wire and composite resin, application of chlorhexidine gel, and clinical case discussions. Evaluation through pre- and post-tests demonstrated a significant increase in participants’ knowledge (from 55% to 85%). The training not only improved participants’ technical skills but also strengthened interprofessional collaboration in managing complex periodontal cases. The outcomes underscore the importance of integrating similar programs into continuing education to support the improvement of dental healthcare quality and the implementation of higher education’s tridharma (education, research, and community service).

Abstract

Post-extraction emergencies such as dry socket, uncontrolled bleeding, and infection remain significant challenges in dental practice. Hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, has been proven to accelerate wound healing and reduce post-extraction complications. This community service activity involved a training workshop on the clinical application of hyaluronic acid (HA) for dentists in Sidoarjo Regency, aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills in hyaluronic acid (HA) use. The one-day training employed lectures, case discussions, and clinical simulations and was attended by 25 dentists. Results showed a 35% improvement in participants’ understanding of hyaluronic acid (HA)’s role in accelerating healing and preventing complications. Evaluation indicated that hyaluronic acid (HA) effectively reduces pain, prevents complications such as dry socket, and promotes wound reepithelialization. This training is expected to improve the standard of dental care and serve as a replicable model for other regions. The implementation of hyaluronic acid (HA) as a post-extraction protocol supports evidence-based practice and natural material innovation, leading to optimal clinical outcomes.

Abstract

Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure that carries the risk of complications such as alveolar osteitis (dry socket). Chlorhexidine digluconate, a broad-spectrum antiseptic, has been proven effective in reducing the risk of infection and accelerating wound healing following extraction. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chlorhexidine usage training for dentists at National Hospital in improving competencies related to the prevention of post-extraction complications. The training was conducted as an intensive workshop comprising presentations, interactive discussions, and clinical simulations. Evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests demonstrated an average knowledge increase of 40%, while practical observations indicated enhanced skills in the correct application of the antiseptic. These results confirm that comprehensive training can improve dentists’ abilities to implement chlorhexidine use to prevent alveolar osteitis and other complications. Consequently, this program contributes to improving the quality of dental healthcare services and serves as a sustainable professional development model in clinical dental practice.

Abstract

Community service activities through the Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University (UMSIDA) Real Work Lecture - Pencerahan (KKN-P) at SDN Ngancar 1 aim to improve the quality of learning by utilizing technology-based media such as ppt, animated videos, and electric boards as interactive media. The electric board is used as an evaluation tool that displays questions and answers, where students are asked to answer correctly so that the lights on the board can light up as an indicator of the correct answer. The methods used in this activity include observation, planning, implementation and evaluation. The evaluation results show that this innovation succeeded in creating a more interesting learning atmosphere, increasing student involvement in discussions, and strengthening understanding of the teaching material. However, the challenge faced is the limited number of technological devices available in schools. Apart from that, case-based learning methods and interactive quizzes are also applied to improve students' critical thinking. However, the challenge faced is the limited number of technological devices in schools. Therefore, further support is needed for the sustainability of this program so that it can continue to provide benefits for learning.

Abstract

General Background: Postmodern theatre is characterized by the intentional exposure of its own artifice, challenging conventional dramatic illusion and encouraging audiences to question the nature of representation. Specific Background: Plays such as Waiting for Godot, The Bald Soprano, and The Vagina Monologues employ meta-theatrical strategies including fourth-wall breaks, nonlinear narratives, and intertextual references to foreground self-reflexivity and destabilize narrative coherence. Knowledge Gap: Although extensive scholarship has examined meta-theatricality, limited studies systematically connect these strategies to the broader cultural and philosophical conditions that define postmodern dramaturgy. Aims: This study analyzes how meta-theatrical techniques in selected postmodern plays contribute to the collapse of theatrical illusion and reveal deeper existential, aesthetic, and cultural concerns. Results: Close analysis shows that fragmentation, irony, and self-referential performance consistently destabilize realism, reposition spectators as active interpreters, and foreground the artificiality of theatrical space. Novelty: The study demonstrates that meta-theatricality does not merely break illusion but becomes a structural method for questioning authenticity, truth, and meaning within postmodern culture. Implications: These findings highlight meta-theatre as both an artistic and cultural practice that reshapes audience perception, challenges representational norms, and reinforces theatre’s ongoing relevance as a site for critical reflection in a rapidly shifting cultural landscape.Highlight : Shows the collapse of theatrical illusion through self-reflexive techniques. Uses meta-theatrical strategies to disrupt dramatic realism. Highlights the audience’s awareness of unstable representation. Keywords : Meta-Theatricality, Collapse, Illusion, Postmodern, Plays

Abstract

General Background Digital media have reconfigured how political communication operates, reshaping the linguistic practices that structure persuasion and power. Specific Background Traditional rhetorical strategies rooted in logos, ethos, and pathos now intersect with the speed, interactivity, and multimodality of online platforms. Knowledge Gap Despite extensive scholarship on classical rhetoric, less is known about how political actors linguistically adapt persuasive strategies within rapidly evolving digital environments. Aims This study examines contemporary political rhetoric by analyzing large corpora of social-media posts and speeches to identify the rhetorical mechanisms politicians use to construct authority, influence audiences, and negotiate power. Results The findings indicate substantial shifts in political discourse, marked by increased personalization, hybrid oral–digital delivery, and intensified reliance on authority appeals, emotional framing, and strategic identity construction. Quantitative patterns reveal differentiated agency across platforms, while qualitative cases show how digital affordances reshape rhetorical efficacy. Novelty The study integrates large-scale corpus analysis with rhetorical theory to provide an empirically grounded account of how digital communication restructures persuasive political language. Implications These insights underscore the need to reconceptualize political rhetoric within a multiscalar digital framework, highlighting how evolving communicative ecologies reshape public discourse, political influence, and democratic engagement.Highlight : Highlights shifts in political rhetoric within digital spaces. Describes linguistic strategies used to strengthen persuasion. Explains how digital media reshape political communication.
