Abstract

General Background: Tourism development serves as a major strategic sector for national economic growth across Indonesia. Specific Background: West Java records high tourist destination visits, requiring optimal management at unique attractions like the Kawah Putih volcanic lake in Ciwidey. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies exhibit empirical discrepancies regarding whether physical infrastructure or interpersonal service predominantly dictates visitor contentment in nature-based destinations. Aims: This quantitative research evaluates the effects of service quality and facility provision on tourist satisfaction at Kawah Putih. Results: SmartPLS evaluation reveals that service quality exerts a positive and significant effect, whereas facilities show a positive but insignificant effect, with an R-squared value of 0.887. Novelty: This study establishes that interpersonal service interaction outweighs physical infrastructure development in determining visitor fulfillment within mountainous nature tourism settings. Implications: Destination managers should prioritize service excellence training while maintaining physical amenities to secure sustainable tourism growth. Highlights: Service quality demonstrates a dominant and significant statistical relationship with visitor contentment. Physical amenities display a positive yet statistically insignificant effect on destination fulfillment. Structural evaluation accounts for eighty-eight point seven percent of the total variance in tourist satisfaction levels. Abstract

General Background The contemporary coffee industry experiences rapid growth, transforming coffee into an essential lifestyle and experiential product worldwide. Specific Background This qualitative descriptive study examines the sales and Instagram branding strategies implemented by CV Kopi Luwak Cikole Lembang to build consumer experiential value. Knowledge Gap Research analyzing how Instagram branding and sales strategies collectively construct consumer experiential value while addressing out-of-region purchasing barriers remains limited. Aims This study aims to analyze sales and Instagram branding strategies in building consumer experiential value and to understand out-of-region consumer acquisition obstacles. Abstract

General Background: Specialty coffee markets and agrotourism have positioned civet coffee among the world's most exclusive commodities. Specific Background: Kopi Luwak Cikole in Lembang operates as an ethical agrotourism enterprise featuring animal welfare-based care and educational tourism. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies examined visitor decision-making and internal-external factors, but strategic formulations addressing production scarcity remain scarce. Aims: This study formulates optimal business strategies for overcoming production limitations through SWOT analysis. Results: Evaluation reveals animal welfare certification, educational tourism experience, and storytelling branding as strengths, while production capacity limits and reactive digital marketing represent weaknesses, and specialty coffee demand serves as an opportunity against counterfeit threats. Novelty: The study offers an integrated SWOT framework reframing production scarcity as a value-creation asset rather than an operational constraint. Implications: Results provide practical recommendations for the business and a conceptual contribution for agrotourism ventures facing similar limitations. Highlights: Animal welfare certification and educational tourism experiences serve as primary internal strengths for specialty coffee agrotourism. Strategic management reframes natural production limitations as value-creation assets rather than operational constraints. Recommended actions prioritize digital marketing standardization and premium pricing models to capture cross-border demand. Abstract

General Background Building a strong brand image is typically associated with heavy promotional investments, extensive digital marketing, and mass-market distribution. Specific Background Conversely, Kopi Luwak Cikole operates an ethical civet coffee agritourism business in Lembang, Indonesia, commanding premium prices and retaining loyal international buyers from over 55 countries despite intentionally avoiding mass-market e-commerce platforms and limiting its social media presence. Knowledge Gap Research concerning how small-scale agritourism enterprises establish premium equity through core values, authenticity, and supply constraints rather than heavy promotion remains scarce in the literature. Aims This study investigates the value-based branding strategy employed by Kopi Luwak Cikole and analyzes the underlying mechanisms driving its premium brand image. Results Findings reveal that the brand image is constructed through four interlocking pillars: science-based production credibility, certified animal welfare transparency, organic word-of-mouth promotion, and deliberate supply scarcity. Novelty This research demonstrates that an enterprise can achieve brand equity by rejecting conventional mass distribution and leveraging ethical production as a signal of quality. Implications These insights offer a replicable value-based branding model for niche agritourism operators with limited promotional budgets who rely on verifiable operational integrity. Highlights:  The enterprise maintains premium positioning through four interlocking pillars: science-based production credibility, certified animal welfare transparency, organic word-of-mouth promotion, and deliberate supply scarcity. Operational practices deliberately eschew mass-market e-commerce and intensive advertising in favor of verified authenticity and strict supply limitations. The formulated value-based branding framework offers an alternative strategic model for niche agritourism businesses seeking international customer retention. Abstract

General Background Digital communication technologies have fundamentally transformed how tourism businesses interact with customers, with WhatsApp emerging as a dominant marketing communication channel in Indonesia. Specific Background Direct marketing through WhatsApp offers high open rates, minimal distribution costs, and strong personalization capacities, making it a critical strategic infrastructure for agrowisata facilities like Kopi Luwak Cikole in Lembang. Knowledge Gap Despite high adoption, research specifically exploring how field staff manage and interpret direct marketing functions through this platform remains extremely limited. Aims This single case study aims to explore the direct marketing strategy through WhatsApp implemented at Kopi Luwak Cikole from the operational staff's perspective and formulate developmental recommendations. Results Findings indicate that WhatsApp functions across five key activities—promotional broadcasts, reservation confirmations, pre-visit services, post-visit follow-ups, and product inquiries—where reservation confirmation is most effective and post-visit follow-ups remain unsystematic. Novelty This study uncovers that staff-managed direct marketing via WhatsApp remains reactive and dependent on individual initiative rather than a structured framework. Implications Standardizing message templates, developing post-visit workflows, and migrating to the WhatsApp Business API will support the scalability and structural optimization of marketing communication. Highlights: WhatsApp functions primarily across promotional broadcasts, reservation confirmations, pre-visit services, post-visit follow-ups, and product inquiry responses. Reservation confirmation serves as the most effective operational activity, whereas post-visit follow-up procedures are currently unorganized. Recommended improvements include message standardization, workflow development, and migration to business platform application programming interfaces. Abstract

General Background The rapid evolution of internet accessibility and digital payment systems has fundamentally altered banking consumer behavior, necessitating financial institutions to provide seamless electronic service experiences. Specific Background As a regional development institution, Bank BJB must simultaneously maintain its localized identity while expanding its modern digital infrastructure, specifically through its DIGI platform, to retain its diverse consumer base. Knowledge Gap Existing literature predominantly examines electronic banking and brand identity as separate entities within national or Islamic banks, leaving a critical theoretical void regarding how these elements interact to secure consumer retention within localized regional banks. Aims This literature review investigates the conceptual integration of brand identity strategies and service digitalization in fostering sustainable consumer retention at Bank BJB. Results Findings indicate that a strong regional identity builds initial trust and sets expectations, while reliable, secure, and user-friendly digital applications fulfill these expectations through daily interactions. Novelty This study introduces an integrated conceptual framework demonstrating that electronic service quality acts as the direct functional proof of localized brand promises, specifically within the competitive context of regional development banks. Implications Regional financial institutions must align their localized promotional messaging with consistent technological upgrades, ensuring that digital applications provide secure and accessible platforms that continuously validate the brand's identity and secure long-term consumer retention. Highlights: A robust regional brand identity sets initial expectations and significantly builds consumer trust. Reliable electronic platforms serve as the functional proof of modern brand promises. Aligning promotional messaging with consistent technological upgrades secures long-term consumer retention.
