Abstract

General Background The global specialty beverage industry increasingly shifts from functional commodity trading toward interactive agricultural tourism. Specific Background Within Indonesia, destinations like Kopi Luwak Cikole integrate ethical conservation narratives and direct sensory interactions to commercialize high-value products. Knowledge Gap Previous literature predominantly evaluates conventional functional attributes of destination choice, largely neglecting the combined affective mechanisms and cognitive dimensions that drive buyer contentment in specialty tourism. Aims This study investigates how direct sensory involvement and interactive cognitive learning synergistically shape buyer contentment at Kopi Luwak Cikole. Results Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method with interviews and observations, findings reveal that observing the ethical breeding process and participating in the roasting stages provide strong cognitive justification for high pricing. Furthermore, the multisensory interaction between staff and visitors transforms initial skepticism into profound trust and positive emotional connections. Novelty This research demonstrates that bridging emotional brand connection with transparent production knowledge fundamentally elevates agricultural commodities into comprehensive, highly valued tourist experiences. Implications Destination management should prioritize transparent multisensory tours and interactive learning to justify high economic value, fostering long-term brand loyalty among domestic and international tourists. Highlights: Multisensory tours and interactive learning provide strong cognitive justification for high economic pricing. Transparent ethical breeding demonstrations effectively eliminate visitor skepticism regarding animal welfare. Affective brand connections transform traditional agricultural commodities into highly valued tourist experiences. Abstract

General Background The global coffee industry increasingly relies on digital platforms to adapt to modern consumer behavior and competitive markets. Specific Background Luwak coffee possesses high economic value but faces significant consumer skepticism regarding authenticity, production hygiene, and animal welfare. Knowledge Gap While previous literature extensively covers social media for sales conversion, there is a lack of empirical evidence on how open digital documentation addresses complex ethical and production concerns in traditional commodities. Aims This study investigates the strategic use of Instagram Feeds and Reels by Kopi Luwak Cikole to deliver transparent information and build brand trust. Results Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method grounded in Integrated Marketing Communications, findings demonstrate that permanent Feeds structure essential certification and processing details, whereas dynamic Reels provide interactive, empirical proof of ethical animal treatment and hygienic production. This integrated openness successfully eliminates consumer uncertainty and translates skepticism into strong buyer confidence without aggressive selling. Novelty The research shifts the digital marketing paradigm from mere promotional volume to radical visual clarity as a mechanism for resolving ethical commodity controversies. Implications Traditional producers must prioritize open, authentic digital documentation to secure consumer confidence, suggesting that future frameworks should fully integrate interactive features like direct messaging to sustain long-term market positioning. Highlights: Dynamic short videos provide empirical proof of ethical animal treatment and hygienic manufacturing. Permanent profile features successfully deliver structured certification details to reduce buyer uncertainty. Open digital communication directly converts consumer skepticism into profound brand trust. Abstract

General Background: Global tourism has experienced unprecedented digital transformation, prompting widespread efforts to maximize digital visibility and online channel reach. Specific Background: Kopi Luwak Cikole operates in Lembang, West Java, managing ethical civet coffee agrotourism backed by government certification and strict animal welfare constraints. Knowledge Gap: Existing literature heavily emphasizes volume-driven digital expansion while largely neglecting how artisanal agrotourism operators can maintain premium positioning without mass-market platforms. Aims: This qualitative case study documents and analyzes the digital marketing strategy and exclusivity positioning of Kopi Luwak Cikole. Results: The facility successfully sustains its competitive advantage through a four-pillar architecture involving targeted search discovery, verified trust credentials, organic user-generated content amplification, and in-person scarcity narratives. Novelty: This study conceptualizes exclusivity-first digital positioning as a viable alternative framework for niche artisanal operators rejecting mass e-commerce channels. Implications: Agrotourism enterprises can leverage selective digital channel selection and authenticity-driven scarcity to secure sustainable brand integrity and international market penetration.  Highlights: Deliberate restriction of mass e-commerce platforms preserves premium product integrity. Targeted search tools combine with verified government certification to secure international market trust. Unsolicited visitor-generated media functions as the primary mechanism for organic brand reach. Abstract

General Background: Indonesian tourism contributes significantly to national economic growth through experience-based agriculture and educational tourism sectors. Specific Background: Kopi Luwak Cikole in West Java operates as a premium coffee agrotourism destination featuring unique natural fermentation and educational programs. Knowledge Gap: Prior SWOT studies on coffee enterprises generally focus on general business models and infrastructure without integrating digital advertising and visitor education simultaneously within one framework. Aims: This qualitative case study aims to analyze internal and external conditions using a SWOT matrix to formulate optimal advertising and visitor education strategies. Results: Evaluation reveals an IFAS score of 2.79 and an EFAS score of 2.71, positioning the destination in Quadrant I with coordinates (+1.67, +1.31) which recommends aggressive growth strategies. Novelty: This research uniquely integrates SWOT analysis with dual focal points of digital advertising and visitor education for a premium civet coffee agrotourism destination. Implications: Management can leverage transparency in production processes to mitigate animal welfare threats while maximizing aggressive market expansion and structured educational delivery.
