Abstract

Improper household waste management remains a significant environmental and public health issue, particularly due to the widespread practice of open waste burning. A preliminary survey in Kalijoho Hamlet, Bantul Regency, found that 96% of households still burned their waste because the local waste bank was underutilized. This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge regarding the hazards of open waste burning, household waste segregation, and waste bank utilization. The program was implemented through four stages: problem identification, Community Self-Survey (CSS), educational sessions, and waste segregation training involving housewives and Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) members. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires and analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the mean score increasing from 109.41 to 120.00. Participants also demonstrated improved waste segregation practices and a better understanding of the environmental and economic benefits of waste banks. This program effectively enhanced community knowledge and skills, providing a foundation for sustainable community-based household waste management.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of digital technology in industry requires vocational graduates to possess competencies in integrated information systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). However, accounting students generally have limited exposure to ERP applications during the learning process. This community service program aimed to improve the job-ready skills of twelfth-grade Accounting students at SMK PGRI 3 Bogor through ERP Odoo simulation. The program involved 31 students and was conducted using participatory training consisting of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and evaluations through pre-test and post-test. The training covered ERP concepts, business process integration, and the use of the accounting module in ERP Odoo. The evaluation results indicated an improvement in students' understanding of ERP concepts, supported by higher post-test scores and positive participant responses toward the training. The program demonstrates that ERP Odoo simulation is an effective practice-based learning approach to strengthen students' digital competencies and work readiness in line with industry needs.

Abstract

The escalation of aquaculture production in Indonesia generates substantial fish waste, contributing to odor and environmental pollution. This community service program at Poklahsar Naminasang Farm & Co., Mandalamekar Village, aimed to educate partners on converting fish mortality waste into Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) through controlled anaerobic fermentation, supporting circular economy principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A participatory-narrative approach was implemented through problem identification, stakeholder coordination, module development, and intensive training involving Poklahsar and Eggpartment partners. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants’ knowledge, with post-test scores reaching 100% and a net knowledge increase of 74.20%. The program also enabled participants to understand strategies for reducing accumulated organic waste by 75%, minimizing odor and pathogen risks, and supporting organic agriculture. Furthermore, the village website was utilized as a digital promotion channel to strengthen the market potential of the resulting organic fertilizer as a green community-based initiative.
