Abstract

Selecting the right raw material supplier is crucial for the sustainability of a company's business operations. This study focuses on the development of a web-based decision support system to optimize the supplier selection process. The Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was chosen due to its ease of implementation and its ability to handle multiple criteria. The system takes into account various key factors, including price, delivery speed, type, discount, quality, service, warranty, payment terms, and return policy. Evaluation results show that the developed decision support system is capable of providing more accurate and objective supplier recommendations compared to the previously used manual method. Therefore, this system is expected to improve the efficiency of raw material procurement and support better decision-making.

Abstract

Traditional games in West Java known as “kaulinan barudak” or “kaulinan barudak baheula” have many moral themes that convey extraordinary local wisdom, and serve as a mirror of the ideals that define people's lives. Due to the reduced availability of play areas and the lack of socialization regarding the importance of traditional games, and fewer and fewer children are involved in these activities and some do not even know about them. So the purpose of making this android application is to create an application educational game that is expected to be a means to help children get to know traditional games in West Java, besides that this application is also expected to be an important means in an effort to preserve this valuable cultural heritage from threats posed by the impact of modern culture today. Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to education, particularly through the use of multimedia technology. Multimedia technology enables the presentation of information in a more engaging and effective way by combining text, sound, and images in an interactive format. Educational games have become one of the most appealing innovations in this context, including games for introducing computer hardware. However, limited facilities in some educational institutions pose challenges in delivering learning materials. Teachers and students often rely solely on textbook images due to the lack of available computer hardware and supporting technology. This study aims to design and implement an interactive mobile-based multimedia application for an educational game introducing computer hardware.The method used in this research is based on the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) approach, which involves the stages of Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, and Distribution. The result of this research is a mobile-based educational game application for learning about computer hardware. This application can make the learning process more dynamic and engaging, and help junior high school students better understand computer hardware concepts.This research aims to contribute to innovation in teaching methods and expand students' knowledge of computer hardware.

Abstract

Rapid technological developments have changed the learning paradigm where learning media technology becomes one of the effective tools in the learning process. Learning media not only motivates students, but also provides wider access to education, including for students with special needs such as intellectual disabilities. However, English learning media technology, especially for students with special needs, is still limited. Therefore, this study is to build English learning media for mild intellectual disabilities, to make learning easier and more enjoyable anywhere and anytime. The methodology used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle consisting of several stages, namely Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing, Distribution to build an application to visualize English material according to the 2013 curriculum for mild intellectual disabilities. The application is targeted for Junior High School (SMP) students. Alpha and beta testing was carried out, at the alpha testing stage, a functional application test was carried out where each menu was tested where all menu functions ran successfully. For beta testing, testing was carried out to identify user satisfaction with the application using the End User Computing Satisfaction method, the sampling method used a saturated sample approach. The results of the overall percentage of user satisfaction from the five dimensions in the EUCS method obtained results with very satisfied criteria with an average of all dimensions of 95.4% with the Android-based English subject learning media application for mentally retarded children.

Abstract

Cucumber is a horticultural crop that plays an important role in Indonesia but often suffers from diseases that hinder harvest yields. There is a lack of information regarding cucumber diseases, their symptoms, care methods, and appropriate actions for treatment. This study aims to develop a web-based expert system for diagnosing cucumber diseases using the Forward Chaining method. The system is designed using the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology, which includes four phases: Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition. Application testing was conducted using Blackbox Testing across seven test stages, all of which yielded results as expected. Meanwhile, Beta Testing with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving 30 users resulted in a satisfaction rate of 83.8%, and testing by 2 administrators produced a score of 90.00%. Based on the Likert scale assessment, these results fall into the "strongly agree" category.

Abstract

The Electronic Identity Card (e-KTP) is an electronic identification document issued by the Indonesian government. The Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) is the government agency responsible for administering civil registration. Currently, a major issue in Garut Regency is the falsification of e-KTPs. The validation process is still performed manually, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. This study aims to design a mobile application that can validate the authenticity of e-KTPs using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. The methodology used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP), which consists of four phases: Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition. The application is built using the open-source OCR library Tesseract to recognize and extract text from e-KTP images. The results of this study show that the application can validate e-KTPs in real-time, although the accuracy is affected by lighting conditions during scanning. The implementation of OCR in this application successfully reduces manual errors and speeds up the e-KTP validation process. The contribution of this research lies in reducing the risk of identity fraud and improving the efficiency of administrative processes at Disdukcapil. The implication of this study is the potential for broader application of OCR in validating other types of identity documents.

Abstract

Rapid technological advances in the millennial era have a significant impact on business, including curtain sales. KUD Kadungora Curtains shop still relies on cellphones to manage the business, which is less than optimal. Manual recording of transactions causes the risk of loss or damage to data, making it difficult to compile accurate sales reports. This study aims to design a web-based curtain sales application using the Rational Unified Process (RUP) method to improve the efficiency and transparency of reporting for the KUD treasurer and sales management. This application is designed to be mobile-friendly to make it easier for shop owners to manage sales, stock items, curtain orders, and reporting. The results of testing with Blackbox testing at the alpha stage showed valid status, while the beta testing stage by two respondents showed user satisfaction by calculating the SUS (System Usability Scale) value of 90, indicating that this application is very good and according to user needs.

Abstract

Economic factors often prevent outstanding students from continuing their education in Indonesia. SMP Plus Madaarikul Ulum offers scholarships as a solution, but the selection process which is still done manually often makes it difficult to determine the right criteria based on student data. This research aims to overcome the problem by designing a scholarship recommendation application using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method and the Rapid Throwaway Prototyping Model. The SAW method is used to calculate student scores based on predetermined criteria, while the Rapid Throwaway Prototyping Model is applied to design the application in stages by involving user input. The results showed that the developed application was able to improve the efficiency of scholarship selection with 80 percent accuracy compared to manual calculations, and passed the blackbox test with a score of 82.8 percent, which indicated the performance and effectiveness of the application in the scholarship selection process.

Abstract

Manual fish feeding activities often lead to issues such as irregular feeding schedules and uncontrolled feed quantities, which can negatively impact fish growth and health. This study aims to design an automatic fish feeding system using the ESP32 microcontroller, Blynk application, water level sensor, and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. The system is designed to automatically dispense feed based on water level measurements. The study applies the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology, which involves four main phases: Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition. In the Inception phase, system requirements and initial planning are identified. The Elaboration phase includes detailed analysis and design, such as hardware component selection and system design. In the Construction phase, the system is implemented using the PHP programming language. The Transition phase involves final testing using blackbox testing. The results show that the system successfully connects the microcontroller to WiFi and the Blynk application, enabling effective remote control. The water level sensor and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor function well in detecting water levels, and the system can automatically dispense feed based on sensor readings and the set schedule. Testing indicates that the system is reliable and flexible, with potential for further improvement through more accurate sensor calibration and additional sensor integration. Suggestions for future development include optimizing power consumption, enhancing connection security, and developing additional monitoring features to provide more comprehensive and responsive control. Therefore, this automatic fish feeding system offers an efficient and practical solution for fish maintenance, allowing users to manage feeding automatically.

Abstract

Al-Mustofa Tambakbaya Foundation manages an Islamic boarding school as well as a Madrasah Aliyah (MA) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS). Over the past five years, the foundation has experienced fluctuations in the number of new students. This study aims to predict the number of applicants using a linear regression algorithm. The challenge of fluctuating enrollment affects resource planning and curriculum development. The data used includes the number of MA and MTS students from the 2019 to 2023 academic years. This research follows the CRISP-DM stages, starting from business understanding, data collection and preparation, to modeling using linear regression. Model evaluation is done with MAPE, MAE, RMSE, and R-squared. The results show that the model for Regional Domicile and Outside the Region has a MAPE of 8.44% and 12.76%, respectively. The model for MTS students has a MAPE of 6.26% and an R-squared of 91.27%, while the MA student model shows the lowest performance with a MAPE of 20.56% and an R-squared of 21.20%. Predictions for the 2024 academic year show significant growth, especially in regional domicile and MA students. This research offers a practical solution to address fluctuations in enrollment and educational planning at Al-Mustofa Tambakbaya Foundation, as well as highlighting the need for model improvements to increase accuracy in the future.
