Abstract

In the era of Education 5.0, the learning process is no longer focused solely on knowledge transfer but also on developing students' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and problemsolving skills. This study discusses the importance of Student-Centered Learning (SCL) as an instructional approach that places students at the center of the learning process. Through SCL, students actively participate in constructing knowledge, engaging in discussions, solving real-world problems, and reflecting on their learning experiences. This approach encourages learner autonomy, increases motivation, and supports the development of essential 21st-century competencies required in modern society. Furthermore, Student-Centered Learning aligns with the goals of Education 5.0 by integrating technology, innovation, and human-centered values into educational practices. The findings indicate that SCL contributes significantly to improving student engagement, academic achievement, and lifelong learning skills. Therefore, implementing Student-Centered Learning is crucial for preparing students to face the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly changing global environment.

Abstract

This research examines the profile of student interest, learning obstacles, and student perceptions of the English language learning process at MA DDI Soni. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through a questionnaire instrument, the study evaluates aspects of motivation, linguistic constraints, and the condition of the school environment. The results indicate that although students possess a very high level of future awareness and an ambition to speak fluently, the actual practice of using English in daily life remains classified as low.The primary obstacles identified include vocabulary limitations, mastery of grammar, and psychological barriers such as the fear of making mistakes. However, the support from the school environment, including classroom comfort and learning facilities, is considered adequate in supporting learning motivation. This study highlights the need for a balance between interactive, creative teaching methods and clarity in material explanation to minimize students' learning obstacles.

Abstract

First language (L1) interference is one of the main factors affecting English pronunciation among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study aims to analyze the influence of first language interference on the English pronunciation of senior high school EFL students from a psycholinguistic perspective. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data are collected through pronunciation tasks, oral reading, and interviews. The findings are expected to show that differences between the phonological systems of the first language and English lead to pronunciation errors, such as sound substitution and mispronunciation of unfamiliar phonemes. These findings provide insight into the cognitive processes involved in speech production and highlight the importance of appropriate pronunciation instruction to reduce L1 interference in EFL learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Civic Education teachers in implementing polite character among students at MTs DDI Ogoamas, identify the challenges faced by teachers, and examine supporting factors. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. It was conducted at MTs DDI Ogoamas in July–August 2024, involving a Civic Education teacher and students as research subjects. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the teacher’s role was implemented through habituation of polite speech and behavior, motivational guidance, direct practice of etiquette, teacher modeling, educational reprimands, and classroom rules. Character formation was also reinforced through morning routines, Qur’an reading, and congregational Dhuha prayer. The main challenges were limited monitoring of students’ behavior, low confidence among some students in displaying polite behavior, and limited cooperation between teachers and parents. Supporting factors included consistent habituation, teacher modeling, school rules, institutional support, and the surrounding environment. The study concludes that Civic Education teachers play an important role in developing polite character through consistent, humane, and continuous educational practices.

Abstract

Psycholinguistics serves as a crucial bridge between cognitive psychology and linguistic theory in understanding the mental processes involved in language acquisition and production. Rather than viewing language as a static set of rules, this field examines how linguistic components map onto the brain's cognitive architecture as a dynamic, predictive system. This study analyzes language processing challenges, such as lexical ambiguity and syntactic complexity, in adolescents aged 12 and 15 who are experiencing a crucial phase of cognitive maturation in their working memory capacity. The findings indicate that obstacles in academic comprehension are often not caused by low intelligence, but rather by limitations in working memory capacity and cognitive overload. As a solution, this study proposes the implementation of metacognitive literacy strategies, such as strategic pausing and self-monitoring, to enhance students' cognitive flexibility in managing their mental resources autonomously.
