Abstract

The lack of utilization of instructional media has led to low student learning outcomes in Pancasila education. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a problem-solving-based flipbook learning media in Pancasila education on students’ learning outcomes. The development research employed the ADDIE model, involving fifth-grade elementary school students and expert reviewers as research subjects. Data collection methods used in this study included questionnaires and tests, with data analyzed through descriptive quantitative techniques and inferential statistics. The results of the study, based on a one-sample t-test, showed a calculated t-value of 9.726 and a critical tvalue of 1.717, indicating that H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. It can be concluded that the problem-solving-based flipbook learning media is effective for use in the Pancasila education content on National Events Surrounding the Proclamation of Independence for fifth-grade students. This study implies that the use of problem-solving-based flipbook media effectively improves student learning outcomes, and therefore, teachers should integrate interactive media to create more meaningful and contextual learning experiences.

Abstract

Low learning outcomes and lack of student independence are often attributed to teacher-centered learning. In light of this, it is necessary to implement appropriate learning methods. The demonstration method, which falls under kinesthetic learning, encourages students to think critically. This study aimed to examine the effect of the demonstration method assisted by audiovisual media on student independence and learning outcomes. The population of the study consisted of 138 students. The sample involved two schools: one serving as the experimental group using the audiovisual-assisted demonstration method, and the other as the control group employing conventional learning. The research methods included questionnaires and multiple-choice tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (MANOVA test). The results showed a significant effect on learning outcomes (p = 0.000 < 0.05) and student independence (p = 0.000 < 0.05), as well as a simultaneous significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the demonstration method assisted by audiovisual media has a significant positive effect on student independence and learning outcomes. Based on these findings, this method can be considered an effective alternative for improving student independence and academic achievement. This research has implications for schools and teachers to enhance the quality of education by implementing diverse learning methods supported by instructional media that can be adjusted to meet learning needs.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low literacy levels among elementary school students in Indonesian language learning, as indicated by their lack of reading interest, and the limited availability of engaging and locally relevant learning media. To address this issue, the study aimed to design, test the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of interactive Flipbook teaching materials that integrate Balinese local cultural values through Tri Hita Karana approach to enhance the literacy of third-grade students. The research employed ADDIE model with third-grade students as the subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires and pre- and post-tests. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, practicality forms, and learning outcome test questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods, along with inferential statistical analysis. The results showed the developed teaching materials were highly valid, practical, and effective. The Flipbook successfully improved students’ literacy and holds potential as a meaningful and contextual teaching medium.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of fraction concepts in Grade IV mathematics remains relatively low. This is due to the abstract nature of the material and the lack of engaging and contextual learning media. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of e-comic media based on the Discovery Learning model in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding of fractions. This is a development research employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of this study consisted of 22 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Instruments included observation sheets, interview guides, student response questionnaires, and conceptual understanding tests. Data analysis used a one-sample t-test. The results showed that the tvalue was 1.722, which is greater than the ttable value of 1.721 at a 5% significance level (df = 21), indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. These findings demonstrate that the use of e-comic media based on Discovery Learning is effective in improving students’ understanding of fractions. It can be concluded that e-comics serve as an innovative and enjoyable learning alternative. The implication is that this media has the potential to be widely adopted in elementary mathematics instruction to foster active participation and enhance students’ conceptual understanding.
