Abstract

Digital Transformation has affected the competitive landscape in this global environment. Many firms use technology to gain a competitive advantage in markets; one of the technologies used is Gamification, which is using a game to increase the intention or engagement of consumers in a marketing activity. Firms in Indonesia have also started using Gamification, such as Shopee or Gojek. Apparently, Gamification has also been used in Tourism Industry, though very scarcely and is still mostly in the development. Previous research has confirmed the positive impact of gamification adoption intention to brand awareness and brand loyalty from a marketer’s perspective. This research aims to confirm the same impact, however, from the perspective of customers/tourists. This research is done using data samples from roughly 200 Indonesian respondents of a 40-question online questionnaire with an Indonesian-themed game prototype as a stimulus and is analyzed using the PLS method. The result surprisingly shows that not every construct has positive impacts when viewed from the consumer’s point of view.

Abstract

Indonesia's economy is in a precarious state, made worse by the presence of the corona virus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. As a result, it is critical for businesses to be able to adapt to changes in an uncertain business environment. One option for the business to endure is through innovation. Previous study has established that social capital, the ability of the work team to be ambidextrous and knowledge sharing play a critical role in the creation of innovation inside the organization. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of social capital on innovation through the mediation of ambidexterity and knowledge sharing in work teams at PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, one of the largest private cement companies in Indonesia. The company operates in an unstable environment due to the global crisis, politics, price competition, and excess cement production capacity in Indonesia since 2016. This research is quantitative research with purposive sampling method using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis with Partial Least Square (PLS) method to test the hypothesis. The study's findings demonstrate that social capital can influence the generation of innovation when it is mediated through ambidexterity and knowledge sharing. This research is expected to assist enterprises in the Indonesian cement sector in surviving by fostering innovation within each work team.

Abstract

The pandemic has ramshackle the already technologically debilitated condition of education extenuating the need for forces, knowledge and talents of teachers and parents toward achieving better education. With this, the study determined the educational leadership and management challenges of school administrators in the Division of Capiz which may serve as basis in creating primers for supplementary material of the Learning Continuity Plan. Specifically, it covered the   changes, challenges, managerial skills and leadership styles of school administrators. In-depth unstructured Interviews using open-ended questions were used to gather the data from six (6) selected school administrators in the Division of Capiz. The data gathered were analyzed through the qualitative data analysis procedures presented by Powell and Renner (2003). The themes identified were based on the changes encountered by the school administrators in the new normal setting. These were on organizational management strategies, personnel monitoring, instructional delivery system, and health management protocols. The identified themes based on the challenges experienced by school administrators as to the implementation of the new normal setting of education were poor internet connection, transportation fare hike, threats on health and safety, parents’ involvement, scarcity of school resources and adjustments.

Abstract

Digitization offers great opportunities for the business environment, including startup companies. Responding to the pressure of technology, many startup companies are using digital platforms as their business strategy. However, many startups fail due to the absence of a comparable digital platform capability. In addition, startups face unique challenges because of their limited resources, so startups must be able to manage their network capability and ambidexterity which consists of exploitation orientation and exploration orientation. With this capability and orientation, it is hoped that startup companies can improve their startup performance. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of digital platform capability, both directly and influenced by network capability, on startup performance and also to determine the moderating effect of ambidexterity which is divided into exploitation orientation and exploration orientation between network capability and startup performance. The survey was conducted on 124 digital-based startups in the service sector in Indonesia. Furthermore, the survey results were analyzed using the structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS) to test the hypothesis. The result is that digital platform capability and network capability affect startup performance. Meanwhile, the moderation of exploitation orientation and exploration orientation towards the relationship between network capability and startup performance produces different results.

Abstract

Innovation activities have become the basis for a new digital infrastructure among businesses. Business actors in this study referring to SMEs need to develop digital orientation and digital capabilities in building digital innovation, where increasing these three factors can lead to a competitive advantage to improve company performance for SMEs, especially in the FMCG industry. The main objective of this research is to examine the role of dynamics of business environment on competitive advantage and performance through digital orientation, digital capability, and digital innovation. This study uses a quantitative approach collected from 216 FMCG SMEs in Indonesia. We intend to find the relationship between each variable and the conclusion of these studies using SEM analysis. The results of the SEM analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between dynamic environment to digital orientation and digital capability. In addition, digital orientation and digital capability have a significant direct positive relationship to digital innovation. Moreover, digital innovation has a significant positive impact to performance directly, and also mediated by competitive advantage. However, digital orientation and digital capability do not have a direct significant effect on competitive advantage.

Abstract

The US is the country with the largest economy in the world. With the largest GDP among the G20 countries, the US power in influencing the world economy is also large. All economic, social, and political shocks that occur in the United States will be transmitted to emerging market countries such as Indonesia. This transmission will affect the performance of government bonds and the Indonesian stock market. This paper describes the type of relationship (response) that occurs between the yield of SBN Domestic variables (SBN20Y, SBN15Y, SBN10Y, SBN5Y, and SBN3Y), market index return volatility (IHSG) to the sources of shocks, and transmitting from yield variables T-Bond10Y, and SP500. The empirical model used to measure the type of relationship that occurs is by implementing a VAR (Vector Autoregression) model. The findings prove that there are dynamic linkages between the variables yield of SBN20Y, yieldSBN15Y, and yield SBN10Y on shocks originating from the yield of T-Bond10Y. The yield of SBN3Y has dynamic linkages to shock originating from the volatility of the SP500, and others have a contemporaneous relationship. The results of this study are expected to be able to add to the literature in the field of finance and investment, provide input for investors in investment decisions in determining which assets will be included in their portfolio, and last the findings of this paper in hoping contributes to the policy makers (government) in how they keep the domestic economic stability.

Abstract

Agriculture sector in Indonesia is very important as they are responsible for the overall growth and productivity of the country’s economy and in maintaining human life, considering that food is a basic need and human right. Therefore, public sector must find an effective way to achieve higher agricultural productivity, which can be done by collaborating with other firms.  Built on knowledge management theory and collaborative innovation theory, this study aims to examine whether there is an effect of collaborative innovation activity (CIA), knowledge sharing (KS), and collaborative innovation capability (CIC) on the innovation performance (IP) either directly, or through moderation  with each other to study the mechanism of collaborative innovation process at the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development. Regarding the objective and research model, we empirically validate the survey data for 48 Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development under the Ministry of Agriculture with SEM PLS method. This study prove that joining in collaborative innovation activities is the key to improve their innovation performance, and knowledge sharing plays a  mediating role in the relationships between collaborative innovation activities and firm’s innovation performance. This study also prove that collaborative innovation capability is  not the only factor that determines the success of a company’s innovation performance, since the result shows that CIC has no impact on  the relationship between CIA to IP, and KS to IP.
