Abstract

The design and manufacture of corn seeding planting machines with this cultivator system is one of the simplest and more productive technological innovations to help the community of entrepreneurs and farmers in completing the work of planting corn seeds in large areas. Maize cultivation can still be developed and become an excellent effort in Dairi Regency to see the area and the land available and supported by the fertile climate and soil as well as the people who like to plant maize. This is also offset by an increase in corn prices of maize commodities. To improve the corn production process, it requires a machine / tool that can plant corn seeds efficiently, a more productive way of working, and greater production capacity. The corn seed planting machine consists of several standard components such as: 1) 4-step gasoline motor, 1: 50 reducer speed, pegs, pulleys, belts / belts, chains, gears and bearings, 2) key components done by machining process that is: cradle frame, driving shaft, blade / blade, screw arm, screw cultivator. The machines / equipment used in the construction process, and the main components are: machine, machine, machine, hand grinding machine, deep thread tap, and welding transformer. From the design and fabrication process to the process start from the process of making the main component and assembling process that is done, hence produce one unit of planting plant of corn seed with cultivator system according to the desired design with result of production capacity test 258 seed / minute.

Abstract

The initial research carried out was a condition survey or visual condition assessment as the basis for analysis or research, condition assessment was carried out using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) with the results per unit segment A with fair damage classification and per unit segment B with good damage classification. From these results, further research was carried out, namely surveying the pavement temperature at several road points using a thermogun during the day and night on certain days only, on days with extreme air temperatures. The results of the study using a thermogun obtained the highest air temperature value, namely 34⁰C, pavement temperature 53⁰C, with a pavement elasticity modulus of 2,359 MPa, horizontal tensile strain 421 microstrain, vertical strain 382 microstrain. Then for the estimated service life of the remaining pavement structure with the criteria for fatigue/fatigue cracks that occur on the pavement is 1.271.093 wheel paths, and for minor cracks/permanent deformation criteria is 1.110,423 wheel paths. The results showcthat the higher the temperature, the smaller or lower the value of the elastic modulus. On the other hand, the lower the temperature, the higher the modulus of elasticity. From the mechanistic-analytic approach in this study, the estimated service life of the remaining structure can also be known.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies through strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, to compile IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary) and EFAS (External Factor Summary Analysis) and to find out marketing strategies in CV KMP after being analyzed by SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities , Threaths). The conditions in the company in the face of fierce competition are marked by the increase of companies in the same field. This study identifies internal factors and external factors of the company. Data was collected through observation and division of questionnaires to workers totaling 20 people. The results of the study show the following values: (1) The results of IFAS analysis are 0.55 that the strategic position is in the average position, where the strongest factor in the company's internal is the guaranteed product quality and the building is the property. (2) EFAS analysis results obtained a score of 0.14 where this position is a middle position from the company's external factors, meaning that there are still many companies to optimize opportunities to minimize existing threats.

Abstract

The construction of bridge and dock abutments generally uses pile foundations, the use of pile foundation is carried out to prevent erosion or movement of land on the surface which can result in loss of bearing capacity or a significant reduction in bearing capacity if carried out using a shallow foundation. The implementation of the pile foundation construction also often experiences a shift in its axle position so it needs to be reviewed the carrying capacity that occurs due to the shift of the axle carrying capacity of the plan. Analysis due to shifting of as-spun pile using the Feld method approach and the Converse-Laberre method as a review of spun pile group bearing capacity efficiency. The bearing capacity of the group pile in the existing condition decreased due to the shift of the pile as far as 1 (one) meter, but it was still within safe limits to carry the burden of the plan.

Abstract

The construction of cantilever retaining wall uses reinforcement as part of the retaining wall’ structure. Reinforcement of the construction of the Retaining Wall is carried out on construction if there is a need for additional reinforcement on the structure or carrying out reconstruction on the structure of the retaining wall. Research on the use of starter rebar uses chemical epoxy, which is used to reconstruct the retaining walls. Soil investigation is carried out because the soil in this structure acts as a load, then this soil parameter is calculated as a lateral force on the wall that makes the rolling moment, and sliding. The land load also acts as a counter weight behind the wall. The study of the use of back reinforcement on the structure of cantilever type retaining wall uses D19-170 as the main reinforcement in the tensile area and D16-170 in the compressed area. Reinforcement for used D13-170.

Abstract

This study conducted the preparation and characterization of charcoal briquettes originating from areca nut skin biomass and coconut shell using tapioca flour as an adhesive. Stages of preparation are cleaning, carbonization, densification, and characterization. Characterize by measuring the level of water, dust, and bound carbon. The characterization results showed that the briquette's water content ranged from 4.1% - 6.9%, ash content was 2.4 - 5.8%, and carbon content was bound to 44% - 60.9%. This result is by SNI No.01-6235-2000. So it can be useful as an alternative fuel.

Abstract

The research was aimed to formulation combination of composite flour as partly substitution of wheat flour from blend of wheat flour, sweet potato flour and taro flour in processing of cake. This research used Experimental Design Methods, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Non Factorial, with different level of substitution in percents, i.e :T1 = wheat flour (100%), T2 = wheat flour (75%) : sweet potato flour (25%), T3 = wheat flour (50%) : sweet potato flour (50%), T4 = wheat flour (25%) : sweet potato flour (75%), T5 = wheat flour (75%) : taro flour (25%), T6 = wheat flour (50%) : taro flour (50%), T7 = wheat flour (25%) : taro flour (75%). The parameters analysed were moisture content, ash content, protein content, fat content,carbohydrate content and hedonic value of colour, aroma, flavour and texture. The results showed were significant differences (p<0.5) difference formulation combination of composite flour with different level of substitution. The proximate composition showed that wheat flour had higher protein content (9.46%) and lower carbohydrate content (87.77%), while sweet potato flour had protein content(3.96%) and carbohydrate content (92.92%); taro flour had protein (5.62%) and carbohydrate content (92.83%). The sensory analysis of cake showed significant differences between 100% wheat flour and formulation combination of composite flour samples. It was concluded that formulation composite flour T4 into wheat flour gave the cake with the best overall quality acceptabily.

Abstract

Nowadays, the development of construction continues to increase every year so as to give impact there is environment.  Construction projects in major cities that continue to evolve require an effort in the form of green construction implementation. The reason for the implementation of green construction is to be able to realize the development of environmentally friendly environment. Also, in a development project will produce considerable waste that will have an impact on the environment. It needs to be an effort in the form of management of waste construction so that it can realize green construction. This research aims to know the project development of Transmart Carrefour Padang already implementing Green Construction, analyzing the process of waste management construction of the development of Transmart Carrefour Padang to realize the Green construction and type of construction waste generated on the construction of Transmart Carrefour Padang. The method used to obtain research data is the observation, documentation, interviews to speakers or informants on the management of construction waste processing conducted by Transmart Carrefour Padang.  The results of the research gained that in general, the project executing contractor for Transmart Carrefure Padang has been implementing green construction. So it was concluded that the implementation of construction waste management implementation to realize green construction has been good or according to standards.  Waste management process using reuse, reduce, recycle and landfill. That is quite effective in reducing the onset of construction waste. The kind of construction waste produced in the construction of Transmart Carrefour Padang is solid waste of 50%, liquid waste by 30% and gas waste by 20%.

Abstract

A composite composite of Resiprene 35 and barium ferrite was made with Epoxy resin. This study aims to determine the mechanical properties (tensile strength, modulus of elacity, strain and flexural strength) and the magnetic microstructure of the resulting composite. The manufacturing method is carried out by mixing Resiprene 35 solution with and barium Ferrit with Epoxy resin with various variations in the ratio of (2.5: 2.5: 95)%, (5: 5: 90)% and (10:10:80)% with the leaky mold method. From the test results obtained a composite magnet that has the greatest tensile strength is a composite magnet at a mass fraction ratio (5: 5: 90)%, with an average maximum stress of 18.19 MPa and an average maximum strain of 4.79% and an average maximum modulus of elasticity an average of 1.86 MPa. Composite magnets that have the greatest flexural strength are composite magnets at a mass fraction ratio (5: 5: 90)%, with an average maximum flexural strength of 51.00 MPa and an average maximum deflection of 10.61 mm. as well as the composite morphological analysis of the mass fraction (5: 5: 95)%, it appears that resiprene 35 and barium ferrite have been strongly bonded with epoxy and homogeneous resins

Abstract

Buildings that use concrete as a structural material are faced with certain compressive strength requirements that are used as design standards. It is a fact that is always found in the field that the quality of the installed concrete cannot always be maintained at the target quality standard. The regulation that becomes the reference for Indonesian concrete standards, namely SNI 2847: 2013 requires that the test standard of core drilling is if the certainty of the low compressive strength value of concrete is known and the calculation results show that the load-bearing capacity is significantly reduced, then the core concrete test (cores) is allowed. taken from the area in question according to ASTM C42M. In such cases, three specimens shall be taken for each compressive strength test which falls below the given value. The test was carried out using a diameter of 4 "and a diameter of 3", respectively, 3 (three) pieces of the core specimen were taken in horizontal and vertical directions. The test results obtained by an average of the three specimens from each variable are as follows, the compressive strength of the concrete taking the core test object in the vertical direction of diameter 4 "is 35.96 MPa, diameter 3" is 32.97 MPa, the compressive strength of the concrete taking the core test object direction horizontal diameter 4 "is 22.93 MPa, diameter 3" is 20.35 MPa. Comparator of the 4 "concrete mixture that was formed produced an average compressive strength of 37.65 MPa.
