Abstract

The leek production center is Karo district, data on the planting area and harvest of leeks in Karo district in 2020 is 506 ha and a harvested area of 547 ha. for the average selling price of Rp. 5952/kg (Source: Central Bureau of Statistics 2020). Likewise with the data obtained from Merdeka District that the harvested area is 363 Ha with a production of 4433 tons with an average production of 12.12 ha/ton (Source: Central Statistics Agency 2020). Based on the description above, it can be concluded that Karo Regency is a source of leek commodity. And the biggest producer is in the village that produces spring onions, namely Gongsol Village, Merdeka District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. Therefore, the researchers wanted to conduct research in Gongsol Village, with the title ANALYSIS OF LEAF GARNING BUSINESS (Allium Fistulusom L) in Gongsol Village, Merdeka District, Regency Karo.This study aims to analyze leek farming. The research was carried out in June - August 2023. Sampling used (Simple Random Sampling) and determining the number of respondents used the Slovin formula to obtain 30 respondent leek farmers. The research data used primary data obtained from interviews, questionnaires, and documentation with sample farmers in Gongsol Village, Merdeka District, Karo Regency. Abstract

Cayenne pepper is a commodity that is quite high in demand in Indonesia. The problem in chili nurseries is to ensure that the plants grow vigor after the transplanting process is carried out. For this reason, it is necessary to provide vitamins to accelerate the adaptation process so that chili plants can grow optimally. To overcome this problem, in this study the application of vitamin B1 (thiamine) was carried out at the beginning of transplanting cayenne pepper seedlings from the nursery. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of vitamin B1 on cayenne pepper seeds and the best concentration of vitamin B1. This research will be carried out for three months, from early June to the end of August 2023. The research will be conducted in Kelurhan Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan, Kota Medan. The research design was a completely randomized design with 1 factor and 3 replications. The treatment factor was the concentration of vitamin B1 with 4 levels. V0: control; V1: 0.5 ml/l vitamin B1; V2: 1 ml/l vitamin B1; and V3: 1.5 ml/l vitamin B1. The results showed that the administration of vitamin B1 (thiamine) during transplanting had an effect on the growth of cayenne pepper seedlings.

Abstract

Coffee plants are one of the plantations that play an important role in the Indonesian economy. Important roles include a source of income for small scale coffee farmers, while large ones, earning foreign exchange, providing employment opportunities and other economic actors involved in cultivation, processing and the marketing chain.Indonesia is called the largest coffee producing country in the world, the main target of coffee export activities is to market coffee products produced directly by Indonesian farmers.European countries, America and Japan are the largest consumer countries for coffee exports. Progress and developments over time have ultimately led to increased welfare and changes in the lifestyle of the Indonesian people, leading to increased coffee consumption. It was concluded from the marketing analysis and consumption levels that the balance in meeting coffee needs for (export) foreign and domestic markets (national level) must be increased by national coffee production. Coffee production in Indonesia is estimated at around 1.2 million hectares, spread across Java, North Sumatra and Sulawesi.Indonesia is one of the countries where the productivity of Arabica coffee is higher than the productivity of Robusta coffee, which is starting to be popular with farmers and coffee connoisseurs in Indonesia. Arabica coffee is one of the world's high demand coffees, which has contributed to Indonesia becoming the largest coffee producer to increase the production and productivity of Arabica coffee, which has a fairly high price.In improving knowledge, skills and attitudes with the aim of increasing coffee productivity, farmer groups have begun to be embraced and formed through deliberations or seminars as a means of learning for their members so that the problems faced by coffee farmers in Talimbaru Village regarding coffee productivity can no longer make mistakes in farming and lack of knowledge in the workforce and the operation of coffee processing equipment to achieve higher production.With this background, the author conducted research on marketing analysis entering the Arabica Coffee Competition Market in Talimbaru BarusJahe Village.

Abstract

Tingginya minat masyarakat di pasaran terhadap minyak karo menjadikan minyak karo sebagai salah satu produk unggulan lokal Kabupaten Karo. Pasar minyak karo ini sudah mencapai pasar nasional dengan di pasarkannya di beberapa kota-kota besar di seluruh Indonesia seperti Medan, Jakarta, dan Surabaya bahkan sudah sampai keluar negeri ke Amerika. Beberapa kendala yang di hadapi pengusaha minyak karo yaitu kurangnya modal dan perhatian pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal apa saja yang menjadi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman bagi pengembangan usaha minyak karo di Desa Lingga Kecamatan Simpang IV Kabupaten Karo dan strategi alternatif yang memungkinkan untuk diterapkan dalam pengembangan usaha minyak karo di desa tersebut. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan penentuan lokasi secara sengaja (purposive). Metode analisis data menggunakan matriks IE (Interal Eksternal) dan matriks SWOT (Strenght, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).

Abstract

Penyuluh pertanian merupakan agen yang dapat memberikan manfaat bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat untuk mendorong pembangunan pertanian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan karakteristik sosial ekonomi penyuluh pertanian dan pelaksanaan tugas-tugas pokok penyuluh pertanian yang dilaksanakan oleh penyuluh di Kecamatan Barus Jahe. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif yaitu dengan metode pemberian skor. Keberhasilan penyuluh diketahui dari tingkat partisipasinya terhadap pelaksanaan tugas pokok penyuluhan pertanian berdasarkan skor yang diperoleh. Penelitian dengan menggunakan metode sensus yaitu dilakukan terhadap 100% dari populasi penyuluh di Kecamatan barus Jahe yang berjumlah 10 orang. Hasil penelitian ditemukan umur rata-rata penyuluh 51 tahun, tingkat pendidikan rata-rata 15 tahun, lama menjadi penyuluh rata-rata 16 tahun, tanggungan keluarga rata-rata 4 orang, dan pendapatan rata-rata Rp 3.250.000. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa penyuluh telah sangat baik melakukan 9 tugas pokok dengan tingkat keberhasilan mencapai nilai 2,95 atau 98,3%.

Abstract

Limbah kulit pisang dapat menjadi POC mengandung makro dan mkro yang bermanfaat  pertumbuhan dan hasil pada tanaman, dan di aplikasikan kepada tanaman bayam merah. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui  lama fermentasi, kosentrasi, dan interaksinya  POC  Fermentasi kulit buah pisang lilin terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil  tanaman bayam merah. Metode RAK dengan 2 faktor. Faktor I Lama Fermentasi kulit Pisang, dengan simbol L, taraf L0  (tanpa hari), L1 (1 Minggu), L2 (2 Minggu), L3 (3 Minggu). Faktor II Kosentrasi, simbol K dengan taraf K0 : 0 ml ( kontrol), K1 (15 ml),K2 (25 ml), K3 (35 ml).  Hasil penelitian lama fermentasi  POC terhadap pertumbuhan  tidak beda nyata  kecepatan tumbuh dan jumlah daun,  tinggi tanaman 7 sampai 12 HST dan beda nyata 18 sampai 28 HST,  diameter batang  7, 12 18 HST dan beda nyata  24 sampai 28 HST. Konsentrasi,  tinggi tanaman tidak beda nyata 7 sampai15, dan   beda nyata 18, 14 dan 28 HST, serta diameter batang tidak beda nyata 7, 12, 18 HST dan beda nyata 24, 28. HST. Hasil,    fermentasi 3 minggu (L3) berat kotor 103,33 g/sampel, 868,18 g/plot dan berat bersih 82,19 g/sampel, 666,27 g/plot.  Lama fermentasi 3 minggu (L3) yang terbaik,  konsentrasi pengaruh beda nyata parameter yang diujikan, terbaik menggunakan konsetrasi 35 ml (K3) rata-rata 72,81, konsentrasi 15 ml dengan rata-rata 66,82. Untuk pertumbuhan yang baik. Tidak ada pengaruh  interaksi semua parameter yang diamati adalah dengan menggabungkan yang terbaik  (L3K3).

Abstract

Tanaman bawang merah memberikan kontribusi yang cukup tinggi terhadap perkembangan ekonomi wilayah. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan produktivitas bawang merah di Sumatera Utara masih rendah, salah satunya karena budidaya dilakukan dengan cara konvensional. Perbanyakan bawang merah dengan umbi masih disukai petani karena lebih fleksibel. Namun bahan tanam dari umbi dapat terjadi penurunan produksi karena penanaman dari generasi ke generasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil produksi tanaman bawang merah dengan menggunakan beberapa varietas dataran tinggi akibat pemberian pupuk kompos Mucuna Brachteata. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Sukadebi Kecamatan Namanteren Kabupatn Karo. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Mei sampai Agustus 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode desain penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancang Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Varietas bawang merah berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua peubah yang diamati, pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah terbaik pada dataran tinggi dijumpai pada varietas tajuk. Kompos Mucuna brachteata dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil produksi bawang merah pada dosis 8 kg/plot. Interaksi terjadi antara varietas bawang merah tajuk dengan pemberian  kompos mucuna brachteata sebanyak 8kg/plot terdapat peningkatan hasil sebesar 40% dibandingkan kontrol. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan dengan melakukan penanaman pada dataran rendah kering.

Abstract

Evaluation of Soil Fertility for Horticultural Plantings in Land Recovery After the Eruption of Mount Sinabung. Karo Regency. North Sumatra is known as a center for Horticultural production (vegetables, fruits and ornamental plants) where the livelihoods of the population are primarily food crop and horticulture farming as well as mixed plantations. Karo Regency also has a volcano that is active again in Indonesia, namely Mount Sinabung. Mount Sinabung after approximately 10 years after the eruption, namely the eruption on August 27 2010, after the eruption of Mount Sinabung that volcanic material deposits within a certain period of time will experience weathering. This weathering will produce fertile soil that can be used for horticultural crops. Minerals contained in volcanic eruptions will decay and release various nutrients that are fertile for plant needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the parameters of soil fertility in horticultural cropping land in Karo District after approximately 10 years of the eruption of Mount Sinabung in increasing horticultural crop production and influencing agriculture in the future. The research was carried out from April to December 2023 in Karo Regency. Soil analysis activities were carried out at the Research and Development Center Laboratory of PT. Nusa Pusaka Kencana Analytical & Oc. Laboratory of Baringan Tebing Tinggi Gardens, North Sumatra. Soil analysis tests in the laboratory were carried out to determine the soil fertility parameter values for horticultural plantings after the eruption of Mount Sinabung. Urgency This research determines the evaluation of soil fertility in horticultural crops, in Karo District after the Mount Sinabung Eruption for land recovery and food security in North Sumatra and can identify horticultural land that requires a special strategy in its management and land management in post-eruption land recovery of Mount Sinabung. The results showed that the status of soil fertility in Tigapanah District was that the land was not affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung, namely Moderate, with the limiting factors for soil fertility being CEC with the Low and Medium categories, and soil Potassium content with very low criteria. The status of soil fertility in Nemanteran District with the condition of the land affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung is Moderate with the limiting factor for soil fertility being KB in the Low category, and soil Potassium content with very low criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran petani perempuan terhadap pengambilan keputusan usahatani kentang di Desa Barusjahe Kabupaten Karo Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penentuan sampel pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 25 orang petani perempuan. Data yang diperoleh berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh secara langsung dengan wawancara kepada sampel dengan menggunakan alat bantu kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diolah dalam bentuk tabulasi tabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran petani perempuan terhadap pengambilan keputusan usahatani kentang di Desa Barusjahe sebesar 73%. Peran petani perempuan seperti pemilihan jenis benih, jumlah benih, jumlah tenaga kerja pengolahan lahan, waktu penyiraman, jumlah tenaga kerja, penyiraman, jenis pupuk, waktu pemupukan, waktu panen, jumlah tenaga kerja, pencucian, pemilihan (sortasi), pengkelasan (grading), pengemasan, dan penyimpanan. Abstract

The low production of potatoes in Indonesia is caused by the inadequate availability of quality potato seeds from conventional methods. The tissue culture method is able to produce quality and virus-free seeds, in large quantities and in a short time. This study aims to obtain the best concentrations of NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) and BAP (6-benzylaminopurine) in various explants for the growth of potato shoots (Solanum tuberosum L.) Granola variety in vitro. The research was conducted at UPT Seed Main Kutagadung Berastagi, Karo Regency from February to May 2023. The explants used were leaves taken from potato seed sprouts in vitro. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 12 treatments and repeated 4 times. The treatments tested consisted of: A (without growth regulator); B (0.5 mg/l NAA), C (1 mg/l NAA), D (1mg/l BAP); E (1.5 mg/l BAP);F (2 mg/l BAP); G (0.5 mg/l NAA + 1 mg/l BAP); H(0.5 mg/l NAA + 1.5 mg/l BAP);I (0.5 mg/l NAA + 2 mg/l BAP); J (1 mg/l NAA + 1mg/l BAP);K (1 mg/l NAA + 1.5 mg/l BAP); L (1 mg/l NAA + 2.0 mg/l BAP). The results showed that the concentration of BAP 1 mg/l was the best treatment in producing the number of shoots, branches, leaves and nodes in intercalary meristem explants. Giving NAA (Napthelene Acetic Acid) in MS media had a significant effect. Furthermore, giving a combination of NAA and BAP did not have a real effect on all the observed parameters measured.
