Abstract

This research aims to measure and analyze the numeracy abilities of class V students in solving Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) type numeracy questions. The research design used was descriptive quantitative with a sample of 9 students selected purposively. The instrument used is the MCA type numeracy test which consists of 17 questions covering various numeracy content such as numbers, geometry and measurement, data and near distances, and algebra. The research results showed that 11.11% of students were in the low ability category, 55.56% in the medium category, and 33.33% in the high category. The reliability test was measured with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.574, indicating moderate reliability. The question with the highest corrected item-total correlation is question number 9 (0.762), while question number 2 has the lowest correlation (-0.283). These findings show that the majority of students are in the medium ability category, but there are several questions that need to be evaluated and revised to increase the consistency and validity of testing. Recommendations for improving the quality of learning include evaluating and revising questions, increasing the number of questions, providing additional guidance, and collaborating with parents. With these steps, it is hoped that students' numerical abilities can be improved significantly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) model assisted by interactive video media on the learning activities of elementary school students in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn). This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The experimental group consists of 32 fifth-grade students in Lembaya, while the control group consists of 25 fifth-grade students in Cikoro, selected using purposive sampling and random sampling. Data were collected through observation, pretest and posttest questions, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through prerequisite tests, including homogeneity and normality tests, followed by descriptive and inferential tests using t-test and Anova. The normality test was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to determine data distribution, with a significance criterion above 0.05, while the homogeneity test aimed to ensure the equality of variances between groups. The results of the analysis indicate a significant influence of the VCT model assisted by interactive video media on students' learning activities. The significant values obtained from the t-test and Anova indicate that students taught with the VCT model showed better improvement compared to those taught with conventional methods. These findings underscore the importance of integrating technology into education to enhance the quality of education and student engagement in PPKn learning. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective teaching methods in elementary schools.

Abstract

Character education is now the main focus of experts and educational institutions. Character is formed from small actions that are repeated until they become habits. To be effective, character education must be applicable and easy to understand so that students and their environment can feel the benefits. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of character building at SD Bukit Aksara Semarang City. The research method used a qualitative approach with naturalistic inquiry, and the subjects were grade 4 students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Data validity was obtained through confirmation of results and triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of character building at SD Bukit Aksara Semarang City is as follows: 1) The implementation of character building has been carried out through curriculum programs integrated with character-first education at each grade level and structured in the semester program. 2) In grade 4, the character values emphasized are attentiveness and sensitivity with indicators listed. 3) The implementation of character building is often inserted during the learning process in class, especially project-based learning, which is the school's semester program. The character of attentiveness and sensitivity is an essential aspect of character education that focuses on developing students' personalities. The impact is that students can understand and feel what others are experiencing, improve social skills, encourage responsibility, and help create a positive learning environment. Overall, the implementation of character building at SD Bukit Aksara has shown significant success, but a more holistic approach involving the family and social environment is still needed. Given the influence of external factors not described in this study, further research is required to understand how the environment outside school affects the development of students' attentiveness and sensitivity character and how appropriate solutions can be implemented to overcome these obstacles.
