Abstract

Teaching competence requires several skills in the form of real products or works, so in lectures Learning Strategies are very suitable for using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study aims to describe the effect of using a project-based learning model on the ability to find problems. This research is a pre-experimental study and uses a single group design with pretest – treatment – posttest. The design steps are as follows: (1) Selecting a group of subjects for the sample, (2) Conducting a pretest, (3) Providing treatment, (4) Providing a posttest after treatment, (5) Finding the average score and standard deviation, both from pretest and posttest compare the two, and (6) test the average difference. The subjects of this study were second semester students of the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang who took part in the Learning Strategy course (38 students). Data collection techniques were carried out by pretest and posttest. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest questions, and rubric sheets to assess students' assignments in finding problems. Data analysis for knowledge was performed by paired t test. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that tcount > ttable (31.78 > 2.02619), which means that there is a significant difference, so that the development of the PjBL model has an effect on the ability to find research problems in the Learning Strategy course.

Abstract

The weather radar is a remote sensing-based observation tool that identifies and records rainfall. Remote sensing is a technology that determines atmospheric conditions, measures rainfall, and performs other functions. However, the accuracy of weather radar products concerning rainfall estimation need to be evaluated. This research aims to investigate the accuracy of weather radar products for rainfall estimation in North Sumatra. We analyzed the raw weather radar data using RAINBOW software for data processing. We presented the accuracy evaluation between weather data and observation data using several statistical error parameters such as the Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Error (ME), and Pearson Correlation (r). The results indicate that the CMAX radar product estimates rainfall better than the PPI and CAPPI products. The CMAX product has the lowest error value and higher correlation coefficient (r), indicating its superior rainfall estimation performance.

Abstract

Barium M-hexaferite is a material which has the potential to be developed as a magnetic material which is needed in various fields of application. Various methods have been used to produce this material, but in general these methods require heating at relatively high temperatures. This research was conducted to characterize the magnetic properties and microwave absorption of barium M-hexaferrite which was synthesized using the coprecipitation method by sintering at low temperatures. Synthesis of barium M-hexaferite was carried out using BaCO3, FeCl3. 6H2O, HCl, NH4OH. The results of the coprecipitation were dried using a light bulb at a temperature of 850C, then sintered at a 3000C with variations in holding times of 1 hour, 3 hours and 5 hours. The magnetic properties of the synthesized materials were tested using VSM, while the properties of microwave absorption were characterized using VNA. From the VSM test results, it can be determined that the highest remanence magnetization and coercivity values were found in the samples sintered at 3000C for 3 hours, namely Mr 0.103 emu/gram and Hc 0.058 Tesla. Meanwhile, from testing the absorption properties of the material for microwaves using VNA, it was found that the largest reflection loss value was found in the sample which was calcined for 3 hours, which was 52.4 dB or equivalent to an absorption of 99% at a frequency of 11 GHz. From the research it was found that barium M-hexaferite as a result of coprecipitation can be developed into a good microwave absorbent material.
