Abstract

Illegal parking attendants remain a public service issue in urban transportation management, particularly on Cipto Mangunkusumo Street, Cirebon City, where high parking demand, limited official parking spaces, and weak public compliance contribute to traffic disorder and unauthorized parking practices. This study aims to analyze the implementation of parking management policy by the Cirebon City Transportation Agency in addressing illegal parking attendants, including the obstacles encountered and the efforts made to improve policy effectiveness. This research used a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The analysis was based on Van Meter and Van Horn’s policy implementation model, which includes policy standards and objectives, resources, characteristics of implementing agencies, inter-organizational communication, implementer disposition, and social-economic conditions. The results show that the policy has been implemented according to applicable regulations and standard operating procedures, but its implementation has not been fully optimal. The main obstacles include limited supporting facilities, insufficient surveillance infrastructure, inconsistent inter-agency coordination, low public awareness, and the economic dependence of some illegal parking attendants on parking activities. The discussion indicates that policy enforcement requires not only legal action but also persuasive, social, and economic approaches. This study concludes that strengthening coordination, improving infrastructure, and providing alternative livelihood strategies are necessary to enhance sustainable parking management in Cirebon City.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive chronic disease that requires long-term hemodialysis; however, this procedure often causes post-hemodialysis nausea, which may interfere with patient comfort, nutritional intake, and quality of life. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of peppermint aromatherapy in reducing nausea intensity among CKD patients after hemodialysis. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach involving two CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis in the Bromo Ward of a Regional General Hospital in Malang City on April 14, 2026. Nausea intensity was measured using the Nausea Severity Scale (NSS) before and after the intervention. The aromatherapy intervention was administered by applying three drops of peppermint essential oil to a folded tissue, which was then inhaled for 10 minutes after the patients returned to the ward following hemodialysis. The results showed a decrease in NSS scores in both patients, namely Mrs. Y from 8 to 4 and Mrs. M from 8 to 3. These findings indicate that the menthol content in peppermint may provide gastrointestinal relaxation and stimulate the olfactory system, thereby helping to reduce nausea sensation. Therefore, peppermint aromatherapy can be used as a simple, safe, affordable, and beneficial non-pharmacological nursing intervention to reduce nausea in CKD patients after hemodialysis.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion. Poor glycemic control may increase the risk of peripheral vascular disorders, neuropathy, diabetic foot ulcers, and lower-extremity complications. In addition to insulin therapy, diabetic foot exercises may support glucose utilization, improve peripheral circulation, and enhance lower-limb perfusion. This study used a case report design with a nursing care process approach involving a 62-year-old female patient diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The intervention consisted of prescribed insulin therapy and diabetic foot exercises performed once daily for seven consecutive days. Random blood glucose levels and Ankle Brachial Index values were measured before and after the intervention to evaluate changes in glycemic control and peripheral perfusion. The findings showed a gradual reduction in random blood glucose levels from 226 mg/dL on the first day to 169 mg/dL on the seventh day. The Ankle Brachial Index also increased from 0.77 to 0.87, indicating improved peripheral perfusion. These changes suggest that combining insulin therapy with diabetic foot exercises may support glucose metabolism and enhance blood flow in the lower extremities. The combination of insulin therapy and diabetic foot exercises may be considered a complementary nursing intervention to improve glycemic control and peripheral perfusion in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of student responsiveness and the role of Indonesian language teachers on the reading interest of Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 2 Kediri in the 2025/2026 academic year. A quantitative approach with a multiple linear regression design was applied. The sample consisted of 100 students selected using cluster sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire containing 30 items measuring student responsiveness (X1), teacher role (X2), and reading interest (Y). The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, including validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, multiple regression analysis, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing. The results show that all instruments were valid and reliable. Partial testing indicates that student responsiveness significantly influences reading interest (t = 6.104; p < 0.001), while teacher role also has a significant effect (t = 5.393; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect reading interest (F = 92.624; p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.656) indicates that 65.6% of reading interest is explained by the two variables, while 34.4% is influenced by other factors. These findings emphasize the importance of active student engagement and effective teacher roles in improving students’ reading interest in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

This study analyzes the hierarchy of needs reflected in Levon Cade, the main character of A Working Man (2025). The research is grounded in Abraham Maslow’s theory of human motivation, which classifies human needs into five levels: physiological needs, safety needs, love and belongingness needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with the data taken from selected scenes, dialogues, actions, and visual expressions of Levon Cade in the movie. The data were collected through repeated viewing, scene identification, screenshot documentation, and classification based on Maslow’s theoretical framework. The findings reveal that all five levels of needs are reflected in Levon Cade’s character. A total of 23 data were identified, consisting of 8 data of physiological needs, 5 data of safety needs, 4 data of love and belongingness needs, 4 data of esteem needs, and 2 data of self-actualization needs. The most dominant need is physiological need, showing Levon’s effort to maintain basic survival amid conflict and danger. Meanwhile, the fulfillment of safety, belongingness, esteem, and self-actualization needs reflects his struggle to build a stable life, maintain meaningful relationships, gain recognition, and achieve personal fulfillment. This study indicates that Levon Cade’s character development represents the dynamic process of fulfilling human needs in challenging social and personal circumstances.
