Abstract

The growing need for adobe bricks as a substitute for lead to an increase in demand for cement as brick-forming material that needs to be done to reduce their use of innovation, one using glass powder. The initial idea of thinking that the chemical elements that exist on the glass some of which are the same as in the cement, the silica (SiO2). This study uses a glass powder as a substitute against the weight of cement. Glass powder used consisted of two types of glass powder passes sieve No. 100 retained on the 200 mesh (BSKø100-ø200) and glass powder escaped sieve No. 200 (BSK <ø200) with six kinds of mixed composition of 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. Analysis of the data by using the provisions of SNI 03-0349-1989. The results showed the entire BSK qualify for the water absorption of solid concrete brick quality I by SNI 03-0349-1989. Visual examination showed BSK surfaces have angled, flat, and free from cracks. BSK0% compressive strength of 95,289kg / cm2 and the compressive strength is highest in BSK <ø200_20% of 91,422kg / cm2 and the quality I belong to the SNI 03-0349-1989. Tensile strength BSK0% of 16,268kg / cm2 and the tensile strength is highest on-ø200 BSKø100 percentage of 15% of 19,464kg / cm2. Overall it is known that BSK <ø200 persentse 20% is the percentage of the nicest to be applied next.

Abstract

Abstract

Fundamental weakness of the tank model application is so much value parameters must firstbe defined simultaneously before the model was applied. This condition causes tank models areconsidered not efficient to solve practical problems. This research is an attempt to improve theperformance of Standard Tank Model that can be applied more effectively, especially for thetransformation of climate data into the stream data. The discussion focused on efforts to completethe system of equations in standard tank model using genetic algorithms for optimization parameters,so that the resulting equation system can determine the appropriate model parameters automaticallyat a watershed in the study. Standard tank model is a system composed tank 4 series and has 17parameters. Results of research on the Konto Watershed and the Lekso Watershed show thatStandard Tank Model-based Genetic Algorithm can present relationships very well climate data andstreams data. At the maximum generation value of 500 obtained root mean square error (RMSE) of0.241 m3/sec for the Konto Watershed and the Lekso Watershed of 0.30 m3/sec.Keywords: genetic algorithm, a standard tank model, optimization, parameters

Abstract

Need for the use of reinforced concrete in housing construction will increase along with the rapid population growth. This increases the need for steel reinforcement as a major component. The increase in need for steel reinforcement will trigger a price increase so that it becomes expensive and scarce. Iron ore as a raw material for making steel reinforcement is a mineral that can not be renewed. Therefore, efforts to use alternatives to steel reinforcement in concrete. Bamboo has good mechanical properties and a high ratio between strength and weight. Bamboo has a tensile strength is high, between 100-400 MPa, nearly matching the tensile strength equivalent to steel reinforcement ½ to ¼ of iron ultimate voltage (Widjaja, 2001) and (Surjokusumo and Nugroho, 1993) showed similar results and by the Moriscos, 1996 that the tensile strength of bamboo can reach 1280 kg / cm2. Bamboo can be used as the material of reinforced concrete. This study aims to determine the capacity of the bending beam with reinforcement of bamboo, bamboo reinforced beam deflection capacity. This experiment is a concrete beam bending test. The results showed that bamboo reinforced concrete beam has a maximum capacity reached 56.61% of the maximum capacity of steel reinforced concrete.
