Abstract

Language testing was placed in the last part of teaching and learning activity in all school. It is as tool to measure students' competence to be their performance to show their capability. In other side, beside technique and method to improve and enlarge students' performance were founded, the factors in which become the reason of both decreasing and increasing competence and performance are studied. One of them is students' preference because of their personalities. This research tries to dig pupils' performance because of their differences in term of brain dominance. Grammar test is used as the ruler since it has components in language skill namely reading and listening which are use mostly in language testing such as TOEFL and IELTS.

Abstract

AbstractThe current study aims to design animaker as instructional media for teaching reading to solve students’ problems in reading descriptive text and recount text at MA Darul Falah. The study used Design and Development (D&D) research design followed by Richey & Klein (2007) and Alessi & Trollip (2001) model with four stages; those are planning, designing, developing and validating. The planning stage was finding students’ difficulties learning reading by interviewing students and observing classroom situation. The designing stage was observing syllabus and text book used in tenth grade of senior high school. Developing stage was the process of producing instructional media using animaker. The Validating stage used internal and external validation. Internal validation was the validation of animaker video by experts using questionnaire as the instrument. Besides, external validation was testing the product to students by conducting try out to know the compatibility of animaker in solving students’ problems in learning reading descriptive and recount text. The study produced animation videos of descriptive and recount text that could complete the existence of textbook when the material was difficult and boring. Students’ could understand reading text easily using animaker. Furthermore, animaker could motivate students to learn reading because animaker was designed using innovative tolls.Keywords: animaker, descriptive and recount text, reading

Abstract

The intention of this research to scrutinize the correlation Among  Self-Efficacy, Motivation, and Learning Strategies, which correlated on Academic Achievement. Every learner has Potential ability to be a success using their capabilities. In this study, the researcher used descriptive quantitative method and a correlation research design. It used multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 16.0 to correlates the most significant on student academic Achievement. 114 students were recruited. It was located in Pamekasan Madura. The researcher used a descriptive quantitative method and a correlation research design with multiple regression analysis. This study investigates the predictor variable X1 (Self-Efficacy), X2 (Motivation), X3 (learning strategy), X4 (the strongest variable Self-Efficacy, Motivation, and Learning Strategies), X5 (simultaneous correlation Self-Efficacy, Motivation, and Learning Strategies) and criterion variable Y (Academic Achievement). Abstract

AbstractThe availability of inappropriate English textbook for the first grade of elementary school students became the main problem for the students and the teachers teaching in elementary school. The existing elementary books for the first grade of elementary school students were considered too difficult for the students and it made the students not interested in learning English. This study is conducted to develop an English textbook for the first-grade students of SDN Pamaroh 1 Pamekasan. The research involves the students of the first grade of elementary school, English teacher and three experts. The development is based on the result of a need survey that shows the unavailability of the standard competence and basic competence in English for the first grade of elementary school students in SDN Pamaroh 1 Pamekasan. The procedure of the study is involving some ways: conducting a need survey, developing materials, experts’ validation, revising, trying out the materials, revising and getting the final product. The instruments in the need analysis consist of questionnaires, an interview guide, and field notes. The data from the students is calculated in percentages and those from the English teacher and from the field notes are described in a qualitative way. The data from the need survey is used as the basis for the materials development. A validation form is used to collect the expert’s judgment on the materials. The experts validate the materials in terms of the content of language and the textbook’s design. The data from the experts are analyzed and described qualitatively. The try out is conducted to know the product’s practicality and the effectiveness of the materials. The subject is the students of the first grade of elementary school students.  The final product is in the form of a textbook. There were instructions and some interesting features related to the topic in every section. It makes the teaching and learning process easy and fun.Keywords: English textbook, first grade of elementary school students.

Abstract

AbstractThis study is intended to design English supplementary material based on kinesthetic learning style, using Research and Development (R&D) method. This study carried out 30 subjects of the research, student Social Program grade 10 of Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif NU Blitar, academic year of 2020/2021. The model of research was adopted from Borg & Gall (2003), which contains several steps; the first was distributing need analysis questionnaire and learning style questionnaire, in order to find the student's target needs and learning needs. The following step was designing supplementary book, then, it was validated by material expert. The next stage was trying out the product to the students. The last step was revision, and conducting last try out. The product from this study is an English complementary book, consist of six chapters. The product is equipped with several physical activities to boost student's learning motivation. The overall activity is encouraging students to be more active during class activities, since they have more suitable learning process as their personal preference. Moreover, the product is also equipped with several assignments. Abstract

Abstact:The objectives of the study were (1) to know whether modified collaborative strategic reading (MCSR) affect reading comprehension ability of the second grade students or not (2) to know which one the students who have high and low interpersonal intelligence on their reading comprehension (3) to know whether or not there is interaction between modified collaborative strategic reading and interpersonal intelligence.This study used factorial design. The population of this study was all of the classes at second grade at the school, and the researcher chose the sample using shuffle. Pre-test and post-test and also questionnaire were being the instrument of this study. The test consisted 30 items which had been validated by the expert, and it used content validity. It was proved by the result of analysis hypothesis testing that the sig. value on sig. (2-tailed) is 0.04. Actually, the sig. value (0.04) is lower than 0.05, so H0 is rejected. It means that MCSR had significant effect on students’ reading comprehension. Then, to get the result of the second and third research problem, this study used two-way ANNOVA. The answer is that there is interaction between MCSR and interpersonal intelligence on reading comprehension. Keywords: modified collaborative strategic reading,reading comprehension, interpersonal intelligence.

Abstract

This study involved two of instruments, namely a student achievement and a questionnaire. The questionnaire was adopted from Gadner"AMTB and adjusted for participant understanding to collect data of the learners’ motivation. The data from a questionnaire were used to predict student motivation.   Based on the empirical evidence obtained,  the results of this study. Hypotesis one H1 states that Intrumental Motivation dan Integrative Motivation have significant positive influence to the Achievement. Hypothesis testing uses multiple regression analysis describe at the significance level of each X variable influences on the Y variable, toexplain that the hypothesis  is accepted . The result  shows that Intrumental Motivation has value ρ = 0,000 with regression coefficient of  0,400 dan Integrative Motivation has value ρ = 0,689 with regression coefficient 0,038, so hypotesis I accepted,clearly that it’s mean that faktor Intrumental Motivation factor and Integrative Motivation factor significantly has a positive influence on student achievement.  Instrumental Motivation and Integrative Motivation are jointly or individually gives a significant influence on the achievement of Language Class Students in MAN I Malang. From the two Instrumental Motivation research variables, the most influential (dominant), then it is necessary to increase Instrumental Motivation factors so that the student's achieve better achievements for students in MAN I Malang.

Abstract

AbstractReflective practice is the essential part of learning process, especially in the online learning during pandemic. This is become the way of teachers to assess the effectiveness of learning and figure out what the challenges hindering the learning process are in order to optimize the learning process. This study employs a qualitative approach, in which researchers attempt to explain a phenomenon by focusing on the big picture rather than breaking it down into factors. Data was gathered mostly through questionnaire. The data was derived from three teachers that meet the requirement of this research through unstructured interviews via google form. The findings of this study show that teacher reflection is used to renew teaching method methods in the teaching and learning process, resulting in a more effective and conducive classroom environment. Furthermore, the practice of reflection aids instructors in becoming more creative and imaginative in order to improve teacher effectiveness when implementing online learning in the classroom. Keywords: Reflective Practice, Online Learning, Teacher Performance

Abstract

The aim of the research is to know the significant effect of collaborative writing about the achievement of students’ writing recount text. This research was conducted to investigate the significant effect of CWT on the students’ achievement in writing recount text is effective. The hypothesis is there is significant effect of CWT on students’ achievement in writing recount text. This research is an experimental study and uses quasi experimental research design. The research subject is the students of one of second grade of state junior high school in Karangploso. This study used two groups of students, experimental and control group. Testing writing composition was used as the data collection technique and t-Test calculated by SPSS Statistic 20 was used as the data analyze technique to discover the difference between students’ pretest and posttest score of control and experimental group. The significant (2-tailed) score of posttest control and experimental group is lower than 0.05 % that is 0,001. It indicates that the result of posttest of experimental and control group were different. Then, that CWT in teaching writing of recount text is effective as the hypothesis is accepted

Abstract

Writing is an activity of communicating thought within the composed shape. The use of Flipped Classroom demonstrate may make a condition that help the understudies type in with tall inspiration. Flipped Classroom Demonstrate is an imaginative instructing methodology that reverses conventional educating instead of lecturing, teachers allot video as homework to present the subject. The display study was expecting to test whether or not Flipped Classroom Strategy was effective to progress students’ score in composing descriptive content. The research used quasi experimental plan with quantitative approach. The Populace was 8th grade of MTsN 8 Banyuwangi. The samples were 8 A class consisted of 38 students as the control group  and 8 B class consisted of 38 students as the experimental. There was outside classroom and inside classroom treatment. The data sources was gathered from the pre-test and post test and being analyzed  using independent t-test in SPSS 23. The result of the post-test was 80.32 with the standard deviation is 3.786. The mean score of conventional class was 78.45 with the standard deviation is 3.600. The independent sample t-test result is 2.205(p=0.031). Since the significance value is lower than 0.05.
