Abstract

Entrepreneurship based on culture and local wisdom plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable business models that preserve traditions while contributing to economic growth. This study explores how traditional knowledge, cultural heritage, and local practices shape entrepreneurial initiatives that balance profitability with social and environmental sustainability. Using a qualitative approach, this paper examines successful cases of culture-based entrepreneurship in Indonesia, highlighting strategies for integrating tradition into contemporary business models. The findings indicate that businesses leveraging cultural assets—such as traditional crafts, culinary heritage, and indigenous knowledge—demonstrate unique market positioning, strong community engagement, and resilience against economic fluctuations. However, entrepreneurs face challenges, including market adaptation, limited access to modern technology, and competition with mass-produced alternatives. Government policies, local support systems, and digital transformation play a significant role in sustaining these businesses. This study emphasizes that cultural entrepreneurship not only preserves intangible heritage but also fosters economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. It suggests that fostering collaboration among policymakers, educational institutions, and entrepreneurs is essential for enhancing the scalability of culture-based businesses. By embracing innovation while respecting tradition, entrepreneurs can create sustainable ventures that maintain cultural authenticity while meeting contemporary market demands.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Industry 4.0 has significantly transformed the entrepreneurial landscape, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. Digital entrepreneurship has emerged as a critical driver of business innovation, enabling SMEs to enhance operational efficiency, expand market reach, and develop competitive advantages. This study explores the role of digital entrepreneurship in fostering business innovation, focusing on strategies that Indonesian SMEs adopt to navigate the digital economy. By utilizing a qualitative research approach, this paper examines case studies of SMEs that have successfully integrated digital technologies, such as e-commerce platforms, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, into their business models. The findings reveal that digital transformation enhances SMEs’ adaptability, productivity, and customer engagement. Key success factors include digital literacy, strategic use of online marketplaces, and the adoption of automation tools to streamline operations. However, SMEs also face significant challenges, including digital infrastructure limitations, cybersecurity risks, financial constraints, and resistance to technological change. The study highlights the importance of government policies, financial incentives, and digital training programs in supporting SMEs’ digital transition. This paper argues that a comprehensive and collaborative approach—where businesses, policymakers, and technology providers work together—is essential for maximizing the potential of digital entrepreneurship in Indonesia. By embracing digital transformation, SMEs can drive innovation, strengthen economic resilience, and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the digital era.

Abstract

Social entrepreneurship has emerged as a transformative approach to addressing economic and social inequalities by empowering marginalized communities through innovative and sustainable business models. Unlike traditional business enterprises that prioritize profit maximization, social entrepreneurship integrates economic objectives with social impact, fostering inclusive development and long-term community resilience. This study explores the role of social entrepreneurship in promoting economic inclusion, particularly for marginalized groups such as low-income communities, women entrepreneurs, people with disabilities, and indigenous populations. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, this study examines case studies of social enterprises that have successfully uplifted marginalized communities through capacity-building, financial inclusion, and employment generation. Findings reveal that social entrepreneurs implement diverse strategies, including skills training programs, microfinance initiatives, and market access facilitation, to enable self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods. However, challenges such as limited funding, regulatory barriers, and scalability constraints hinder the growth of social enterprises. The study highlights the critical role of government policies, private sector collaborations, and social innovation ecosystems in overcoming these challenges and ensuring the sustainability of impact-driven enterprises. This research contributes to the broader discourse on inclusive economic development by emphasizing the need for a multi-stakeholder approach to fostering social entrepreneurship. It argues that empowering marginalized communities through entrepreneurial initiatives requires a combination of policy support, social investment, and digital transformation. The study provides policy recommendations for strengthening social enterprise ecosystems and enhancing their capacity to drive long-term socio-economic change.

Abstract

Financial technology (fintech) has revolutionized the financial sector by enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and convenience in financial transactions. One of its most significant contributions is its role in promoting financial inclusion, particularly for small entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises that traditionally face barriers to accessing formal banking services. Digital payment systems, including mobile wallets, peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, and crowdfunding platforms, have enabled small businesses to expand their customer base, improve cash flow management, and participate more actively in the digital economy. This study explores how fintech-driven digital payment systems empower small entrepreneurs by providing financial tools that facilitate transactions, offer alternative credit solutions, and enhance financial literacy. Employing a qualitative research approach, this study examines case studies of small businesses that have integrated fintech solutions into their operations, analyzing the impact on business performance, market reach, and financial sustainability. The findings reveal that digital payment adoption reduces dependency on cash transactions, increases financial transparency, and improves access to microcredit, enabling small entrepreneurs to scale their businesses. Despite these advantages, challenges remain, including digital literacy gaps, cybersecurity risks, and regulatory constraints that hinder broader adoption among small businesses. The study underscores the importance of government policies, financial literacy programs, and fintech-industry collaborations in ensuring the long-term sustainability of fintech adoption for small entrepreneurs. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on financial inclusion and digital transformation, offering policy recommendations to enhance accessibility, security, and innovation in fintech-driven financial services.

Abstract

The circular economy has emerged as a transformative framework for achieving sustainability in entrepreneurship by minimizing waste, optimizing resource use, and promoting regenerative business practices. Unlike the traditional linear economy that follows a "take, make, dispose" model, the circular economy encourages businesses to adopt reduce, reuse, recycle, and regenerate principles. This study explores the role of circular economy practices in green entrepreneurship, focusing on how sustainable business models integrate environmental responsibility with economic viability. Using a qualitative research approach, this study examines case studies of green entrepreneurs who have successfully implemented circular business models across various industries, including renewable energy, eco-friendly manufacturing, waste management, and sustainable agriculture. The findings indicate that businesses adopting circular economy principles experience benefits such as cost savings, enhanced brand reputation, regulatory compliance, and long-term profitability. However, challenges remain, particularly in terms of scalability, consumer awareness, and access to financing. The study underscores the importance of policy support, technological innovation, and industry collaboration in accelerating the transition toward circular entrepreneurship. By integrating circular economy strategies into their business operations, green entrepreneurs can drive sustainable economic growth, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to global climate resilience. The findings provide valuable insights for business leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates on fostering a thriving circular economy ecosystem.

Abstract

Verstek divorce rulings, where one party does not attend court proceedings, often result in inequalities in fulfilling the rights of ex-wives. This study explores the legal obligations of husbands toward their former spouses in verstek divorce cases, analyzing both Islamic legal principles and judicial practices in Indonesian Religious Courts. Using an empirical juridical approach, this research was conducted at the Watampone Religious Court Class IA through legal document analysis and interviews with judges and other key stakeholders. The findings indicate that while Islamic law mandates husbands to provide financial support to their ex-wives, including nafkah iddah (maintenance during the waiting period) and nafkah mut’ah (consolation gifts), these provisions are often not enforced effectively in verstek decisions. The absence of the husband in court proceedings significantly affects the judicial process, limiting the court’s ability to ensure compliance. Additionally, many women lack legal awareness, leading to challenges in claiming their rights. Even when courts rule in favor of ex-wives, enforcing financial obligations remains a major issue due to weak legal execution mechanisms. This study highlights the urgent need for improved legal frameworks and enforcement strategies to protect women’s rights in verstek divorce cases. Strengthening legal aid services, increasing judicial oversight, and enhancing post-divorce monitoring mechanisms are essential steps to ensure the equitable implementation of Islamic family law.

Abstract

Bullying in schools is a persistent social issue that significantly impacts students’ psychological well-being, academic performance, and overall development. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of bullying by exploring its underlying causes, the consequences for both victims and perpetrators, and the most effective prevention strategies in educational settings. Using a literature review approach, this research synthesizes findings from various academic sources to provide a comprehensive understanding of school bullying. The results indicate that bullying arises from multiple interconnected factors, including individual traits, family environment, peer influence, and school policies. Victims often suffer from long-term psychological effects such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, which can lead to decreased academic motivation and social withdrawal. Meanwhile, perpetrators may develop aggressive tendencies that persist into adulthood, increasing the likelihood of engaging in antisocial behavior. Moreover, bullying negatively affects the overall school climate, creating an unsafe learning environment that disrupts students' educational experiences. To address this issue, schools must implement a multifaceted prevention approach, including educational campaigns, strict anti-bullying policies, teacher training programs, and parental involvement. Establishing a supportive and inclusive school culture is essential to reducing bullying incidents and fostering positive student interactions. By incorporating these strategies, schools can create a safer and more conducive learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.

Abstract

Food security is a persistent global challenge, particularly in low-income communities where access to nutritious food is limited. Free nutritious meal programs have been introduced to enhance food access and improve nutritional intake, especially for vulnerable populations such as children and low-income families. Despite their implementation, their overall impact on food security at the household and community levels remains underexplored. This systematic review examines the role of free nutritious meal programs in improving food security by evaluating their effects on food availability, accessibility, utilization, and stability. The study also highlights economic, social, and policy-related challenges affecting program sustainability. A systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Data were sourced from academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed, focusing on studies published in the last decade. Thematic analysis was employed to identify trends related to program effectiveness, policy integration, and long-term sustainability. Findings indicate that free meal programs enhance food security by increasing access to nutritious food, reducing malnutrition, and improving educational and economic outcomes. However, challenges such as financial constraints, logistical barriers, and policy fragmentation limit long-term success. While free nutritious meal programs offer short-term relief for food insecurity, their sustainability depends on strong policy support, financial investment, and integration with local food systems. Further research should explore scalable models to ensure their long-term effectiveness in diverse socio-economic settings.
