Abstract

Breast milk is a complex biological fluid which contains all the nutrients that are useful for the physical growth and development of infants in meeting the needs of foster care (physics-biomedical), compassion (needs for affection/emotions, and sharpening (the need for stimulation). Exclusive breastfeeding is the provision of breast milk to babies from birth to 6 months of age without the addition of other food/drinks. The research method uses observational analytic research methods. Analytical research is research that tries to explore how and why health phenomena occur, then analyzes the dynamics of the correlation between phenomena, namely risk factors and effect factors with a cross-sectional approach by examining the effect of breastfeeding. The results of this study are by using Chi-Square p-value = 0.017 there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and emotional development in toddlers. Conclusion There is a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and emotional development in toddlers with a p-value of 0.017. The proportion of normal emotional development in toddlers is 62.5% while those that are not normal are 37.5%

Abstract

The early initiation of breastfeeding is one of the factors affecting uterine involution. This is due to the stimulation and release of hormones, including oxytocin, which functions to stimulate the contraction of breast smooth muscles and also causes the contraction and retraction of uterine muscles. This will result in the compression of the blood vessels, thereby reducing the blood supply to the uterus. The objective of this study is to ascertain the relationship between early breastfeeding initiation and uterine involution in postpartum mothers. The study was conducted at Ninda Clinic on 26 postpartum mothers, of whom 13 had undergone IMD and 13 had not undergone IMD. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of this study demonstrated that 12 respondents (46.2%) exhibited normal TFU, while 14 respondents (53.8%) demonstrated abnormal TFU. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) and involution in postpartum mothers, with a value of p=0.018 (0.018 <0.05). It is recommended that health workers, particularly midwives, provide health education about IMD in the postpartum period.

Abstract

The process of labor begins with uterine contractions that cause pain and discomfort in laboring mothers. The main problem in laboring mothers is pain. Pain is a single sensation caused by a specific stimulus that is subjective and different for each individual. One of the non-pharmaceutical therapies for overcoming labor pain is acupressure. The aim is to determine the effect of SP6 acupressure on labor pain during the first stage at the Midwife Clinic Nelly M. Harahap Padangsidimpuan City. This study was conducted using a quasi-experimental research method (pseudo-experiment) using a Pretest posttest only design. The number of samples in this study was 20 respondents. sampling method using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results of the study found labor pain before the SP6 Acupressure action in laboring mothers at time I with a mean of 6.65 and after the SP6 Acupressure action in laboring mothers at time I with a mean value of 3.05. This study concludes that there is an effect of Acupressure SP6 on labor pain at time I with a p-value of 0.002. It is recommended that laboring women gain knowledge and experience in the implementation of Acupressure SP6 on labor pain at stage I.

Abstract

Attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in 5–12% of children in the world. ADHD has the characteristics of difficulty concentrating (focusing), being easily distracted, not being easily tired, excessive activity, impulsiveness, decreased executive function, fidgeting, excessive talking, difficulty waiting for one's turn, and often disturbing others. External factors that play an important role in the treatment of ADHD are nutrition and diet. Various nutrition experts have stated that nutrition plays an important role in neurodevelopment. Increased consumption of sugar calories is associated with decreased activity in areas associated with dopamine (posterior midbrain, dorsolateral/orbitofrontal cortices) and taste processing areas (postcentral gyrus) during sugar consumption. The method used in this study uses study literature collected from various reference journal articles from 2007–2023 and international journal articles that are interconnected. All the articles obtained state that sugar can disrupt the balance of neurotransmitters in the body of people with ADHD, namely dopamine and norepinephrine, which will increase the symptoms of ADHD. The significance value obtained is below p 0.05, which means that there is an effect of sugar on the symptoms of ADHD. Based on several sources of journal articles, it can be concluded that consuming sugar in children with ADHD will increase the symptoms of ADHD, such as inattentiveness and impulsivity. However, sugar consumption in normal children does not cause ADHD, but it is possible to experience other diseases.

Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a neuropathy caused by compression of the median nerve that passes through the carpal tunnel structure in the wrist. If the CTS condition is not treated, complications will occur such as irreversible damage to the median nerve resulting in permanent impairment and disability, chronic wrist pain, and muscle atrophy and weakness. Currently there are various CTS therapies such as splinting , local injection of corticosteroids, oral medications such as prednisone, physical therapy such as carpal bone mobilization, ultrasound therapy , and nerve glides exercises , as well as surgical therapy. However, these various therapies have not provided optimal results and there are complications such as neuromas, hypertrophic wounds, dysesthesia, wrist joint stiffness, and the inability of various to reduce CTS symptoms. Therefore, more effective therapy with minimal side effects is needed. Therefore, in this literature review, an analysis of the effect of laser therapy on various outcomes of CTS patients as an innovative therapy was carried out. Study searches were performed on various databases such as Pubmed, ScienceDirect , Directory of Open Access Journal , Epistemonikos, and Cochrane Library . From the search results obtained a total of 389 studies. The 7 studies that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were the studies that were analyzed in this literature review. Various types of laser therapy showed better outcome results than the control group, with LLLT laser therapy showing the best results in various outcomes in CTS patients. LLLT laser therapy also shows better results when combined with other types of therapy. No adverse events were reported with any type of laser therapy in all inclusion studies. Therapy is the newest type of innovative therapy with better effects and minimal side effects compared to conventional therapy in CTS patients.

Abstract

Forward head posture refers to the anatomical alignment of the head positioned anteriorly to the shoulders. An imbalance in the muscles of the cervical region characterizes this disorder. This phenomenon can be attributed to multiple variables, one of which pertains to the length of the work period. This investigation seeks to establish the relationship between working duration and forward head posture. This research method uses a cross-sectional analytic observational study design that was carried out from February to March 2023 in Gianyar. The study employed a sample size of 60 individuals, selected by the utilisation of a basic random sampling methodology. The CVA measurement uses the MB Ruler, and the duration of work is measured with a self-report questionnaire. Data analysis in this study used the SPSS version 24 application with bivariate tests using Chi Square and Spearman's rank tests. The findings of this study revealed a statistically significant association between work duration and forward head posture, as indicated by a p-value of 0.012 (p < 0.05). The findings of this study indicate a statistically significant correlation between the duration of employment and the occurrence of forward head posture.
