Abstract

Water is a natural resource that is very important for life, especially for humans. Human needs for clean water always increase from years to years. Mineral water from the depot makes it easier for consumers to choose the quality of mineral water. This final project aims to make a drinking water quality monitoring tool with a Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) sensor that can read dissolved substances in water. The microcontroller used to store sensor data is a NodeMCU ESP8266, the data is sent to Firebase then the data in Firebase will be forwarded to Android with Internet of Thing (IoT) technology. The result of the average error percentage for the comparison of the TDS sensor with the TDS meter is 16.82%. All test results from five samples of TDS sensor data and TDS meter can be concluded that the quality of drinking water is very good, because the sensor readings are below 300 PPM.

Abstract

Power electronics is a field that studies electronics applications related to electrical equipment that uses large amounts of power, one of the subject that studied is AC to AC converters. AC voltage regulator is a converter where the output frequency is the same as the input frequency of the voltage sources, while the RMS output voltage can be regulated. In this research the number of phases that used are six phases, and two SCRs that used to chopper the AC voltage wave that arranged it in revers for each phase.The control circuit is constructed by using an op-amp which functions as a comparator and several other basic electronic components. the simulation results that using PSIM software for several delay angles including 30o, 60o, 90o, 120o, and 150o produce rms voltage that is relatively the same as the analysis by using mathematically calculations, this difference is because the SCR gate delay angle is still done manually, in general the voltage regulator The six-phase AC in this study can work well.

Abstract

As time goes by, learning media in educational institutions need to be innovated according to industry demand through curriculum development mechanisms. One of the learning media that will be developed is the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) which will interact in the PLC course. HMI is a device that connects humans with working machines displaying visualization of input output equipment connected to a PLC. This research aims to create a PLC HMI-based goods counter conveyor simulation as a learning medium in the Aceh Polytechnic Mechatronics Study Program. The results obtained were that learning media was successfully created with PLC and HMI indications that could communicate to simulate goods counting conveyors. In this module there is an average delay of 2 seconds which is caused by the unresponsive response of the HMI touchscreen. However, overall this module is quite reliable and has been applied to increase competency in PLC courses.

Abstract

Indonesia is located in a tropical area and is rich in natural resources and abundant agricultural land. The technique that can save land is the hydroponic system. The hydroponic system has the disadvantage that it requires more labor and maintenance compared to tillage. This research aims to design a tool that can combine and control air pH, air nutrients, air temperature and air flow speed on hydroponic plants through the Blynk application. It is hoped that this application can make it easier for hydroponic owners to control and monitor their plants remotely. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a Waterfall research design. Based on the research results, the results of testing the air pH sensor showed an average difference of 0.18 and testing the TDS sensor, temperature sensor and water flow sensor produced different types of air which had their own resulting values in the sensor readings. In testing the relay response, applying voltage to the relay and calculating the length of delay on the pump relay gives different times with a calculation of several seconds

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine Eco Bioplastics Packaging containing LDPE/CS. Effects content concentration of corn stalk and inclusion compatibilizer on the crystallinity and morphology of Eco Bioplastics Packaging biocomposites. It was found that the by using similar filler loading, compatibilized Eco Bioplastics Packaging has revealed higher enthalpy and crystallinity of Eco Bioplastics Packaging with MAPE. Additionally, the addition of MAPE improved the interfacial interaction between corn stalk and LDPE biocomposites, as confirmed by SEM analysis. Abstract

The research aims to develop and design a mini semi-automatic screen-printing system that can be easily controlled. The objectives of this project are to create a suitable design for the mini semi-auto screen printing system and to develop it accordingly. The type of study conducted is the development of a real project, which is the production of a mini silk screen printing machine. The development of this project involves 4 phases: design and fabrication phase, motor wiring system, mould production and testing process. In this project, a mechanical setup will be created to execute the printing process. This setup will include a conveyor mechanism to hold the paper, a lifting arrangement, a wiping setup, and cutters. To control the printing operation and semi-automate the screen-printing setup, a power panel will be utilized. The setup will encompass a control system and a motion system, which will consist of a gear assembly and servo motors. The testing conducted is the functional process of the system regarding machine operation. As a conclusion, the development of mini silk screen printing successfully develops for student in Mechanical Engineering Department in POLIMAS. Abstract

This research paper presents the design of an extrudate filament machine tailored for recycling waste Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastics into filament suitable for 3D printing. The exponential growth of plastic waste, particularly PET, poses significant environmental challenges. Recycling PET into usable filament for 3D printers not only addresses environmental concerns but also promotes sustainable manufacturing practices. The design process encompasses a thorough analysis of requirements, considering factors such as input material variability, filament diameter consistency, and production throughput. Through conceptual and detailed design phases, the machine is optimized to effectively shred, melt, extrude, cool, and wind the recycled PET material into uniform filament spools. Material selection is carefully curated to ensure durability, thermal stability, and compatibility with PET recycling processes. The machine integrates various components such as shredders, extruders, cooling systems, and filament winding mechanisms to efficiently process waste PET plastics. Furthermore, the paper explores the economic feasibility and environmental benefits of implementing such a system for local plastic recycling initiatives.

Abstract

Fluid Mechanics is a core course in the curriculum structure of the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic. The main component of this course consists of theory and practical related topics in Fluid Mechanics. The practical equipment used must be complete and meet the requirements of the syllabus. The main objective of this study is to develop a pipe friction practical kit for the Fluid Mechanics course and make an analysis to obtain the value of the friction coefficient from the developed kit. Some of the parameters that are studied to obtain the value of energy loss are changes in pipe diameter, flow velocity and pipe length. As a result of the findings, the main factor that affects the value of the friction coefficient is the fluid flow velocity in the pipe. In conclusion, this developed kit has achieved the set objectives and is a teaching aid for practice in the Fluid Mechanics course.

Abstract

Penyelidikan ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan sebuah pemampat acuan yang mampu menghasilkan pelbagai jenis acuan pastri. Objektif utama adalah untuk mengurangkan kerja secara manual dan meningkatkan kecekapan pengeluaran pastri. Melalui integrasi Pneumatik Silinder Aktuator, Solenoid Valve, dan Pengawal Logik Berprogram (PLC) sebagai sistem kawalan utama, mesin mencapai fungsinya dengan berkesan dan memudahkan operasi mesin secara lancar. Gabungan inovatif Sensor Tirai IR dan Relay Pepejal (SSR) berperanan sebagai tirai cahaya keselamatan untuk sebarang isu keselamatan yang mungkin berlaku. Oleh itu, mesin berjaya mencapai matlamatnya untuk meningkatkan pengeluaran produksi pastri.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, medical equipment is needed by all humans. One of them that is widely used as initial protection is hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is an antiseptic in the form of a gel that is widely used as a practical hand sanitizer. This final project aims to make a body temperature checking device and automatic hand sanitizer spraying, so that with this tool it can help prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus in routinely checking body temperature and cleaning hands from bacteria or germs without touching the tool. The sensors used in the manufacture of this final project consist of a temperature sensor mlx90614 as a body temperature detector and a proximity sensor as a trigger for a water pump. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) serves to display temperature data that has been detected and the speaker emits sound according to the temperature detected later. Based on the detection accurasy test, the accurasy value is 94,74%.
