Abstract

Electrostimulation has become a widely utilized method in various fields, such as medicine, sports, and research, to stimulate biological tissues using electrical currents of specific frequencies. However, commercially available electrostimulation devices are often expensive and complex, making them less accessible for educational purposes or researchers with limited budgets. This study aims to develop a simple Arduino-based electrostimulator capable of generating sinusoidal waves with adjustable frequency and amplitude. The device was designed using PWM signals from Arduino filtered through an RC circuit to produce smooth sinusoidal waves, which were then amplified using transistors and stepped up in voltage through a step-up transformer. Testing demonstrated that the device could generate stable sinusoidal waves with frequencies of up to 600 Hz. Trials on human skin revealed varying sensations, ranging from mild vibrations to muscle contractions, depending on the frequency applied. This research highlights the potential of an Arduino-based electrostimulator as a cost-effective and flexible alternative for educational and research purposes, as well as for exploring the effects of electrostimulation. With its simple design, the device can be further developed for various medical and scientific applications in the future.

SRC Nanik is a grocery store that sells various basic and daily necessities, such as food, drinks, personal equipment, and so on. SRC Nanik is located in Purwantoro, Wonogiri, Central Java and was founded in 2010 by Giriyanto. Every retail business must have transaction records of its operational activities, whether recorded manually in books or using a computer. However, in fact, this transaction data is rarely used by shop owners, even though the transaction records can be reprocessed to produce information that is useful for shop owners. One of them is by using data mining. Given these problems, it is necessary to utilize data to determine business strategies. The transaction data is processed using an a priori algorithm to provide new knowledge that can be utilized by retail owners. This study uses an a priori algorithm for efficient data processing, using association rules to reveal combinations of items that meet predetermined support and confidence values. Based on the a priori algorithm method, it can identify purchasing patterns that occur at SRC Nanik, with the associations formed it can be used to understand customer shopping habits and can be used to improve sales strategy.

Abstract

The prevalence of respiratory diseases, such as asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), continues to increase worldwide, posing significant challenges for patients and healthcare systems. Monitoring remaining doses and inhaler dose notifications are becoming increasingly scarce, becoming a major concern for asthma patients. Therefore, the Smart Inhaler is designed to provide a real-time shrinking dose counter display and notifications via devices for refilling inhaler doses. This Smart Inhaler consists of a 3.7V power supply and Force Resistive Sensor used as input, display on OLED notifications as output, and ESP32 as a processor to connect to the Internet. The Smart Inhaler uses an IoT application as a counter that connects the inhaler to devices such as smartphones. Force Resistive Sensor is used to determine the dose taken by the user, and calculations are subtracted until the inhaler dose is depleted. Notifications are sent to the device when the Smart Inhaler reaches a low dose count, starting from 50,30 to 10 doses, to remind patients to replace the inhaler. This Smart Inhaler can be enhanced with a more practical design on the top of the metal canister to facilitate inhaler dose calculation by the Force Resistive Sensor.

Abstract

One of the topics studied in the Power Electronics course is the three-phase AC to AC converter, where the output frequency remains the same as the source voltage frequency, but the output voltage magnitude can be adjusted according to the requirements, this circuit is often referred to as a three-phase AC voltage regulator. The SCR trigger circuit functions to control the three-phase AC voltage, using six SCRs in total. The components used include an LM324, which functions as a comparator, MOC3063, diodes, and several other analog electronic components. The three-phase AC voltage source in this study uses a low-voltage supply, which is also used as a reference point for the comparator circuit, therefore, a three-phase step-down transformer circuit is required. The measurement of the output waveforms Van, Vbn, and Vcn is conducted using a digital oscilloscope with SCR triggering delay times of 1.6 ms (28.8°), 2.5 ms (45°), 3.5 ms (59.4°), 5 ms (90°), 6.6 ms (118.8°), and 7.5 ms (135°). The measured waveform characteristics align with the results obtained using computer simulations. However, the differences between the measurement results and mathematical calculations are relatively small. This is due to the manual method used to determine the triggering time by adjusting the potentiometer, which introduces the possibility of errors during measurements performed by different individuals.

Abstract

In Vocational colleges, the high activity of students in the laboratory for practical activities, research, and others makes the use of the laboratory more optimal so that it is difficult to monitor its use. This results in a lack of information on the track record of laboratory use. So if the key and laboratory equipment are lost, it is very difficult to identify. The laboratory key security system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Raspberry Pi is one solution that can be used for a security system compared to the conventional physical locker key system. This system uses Raspberry Pi as the main controller to control the lock mechanism on the locker. This system aims to provide convenience and security in the use of lockers using miniature computing technology. This system consists of Raspberry Pi as a control center, solenoid lock door to move the lock mechanism, LCD screen to display information to users, and RFID as a user authentication method before opening the locker. This tool is also able to inform the day and time of taking the locker key recorded on the website. By using this system, users can easily access the locker and can more easily find out the track record of taking the laboratory key. The results of the study, from 7 users registered in the system, all of them successfully opened the locker with a success rate of 100%. The response time to open and close the locker door is a maximum of 60 seconds. Users who access the locker can be recorded on the website regarding the date and time of locker access.

Abstract

Automatic monitoring of water volume during gallon filling is a technology increasingly important in the water filling industry, particularly for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the distribution process. This tool aims to monitor the water flow rate during the filling of mineral water gallons using a Flow Sensor. An Arduino Uno serves as the controller for this system. When the water pump is activated to fill the gallon, the flow sensor measures the amount of water flowing through it by generating pulses, which are then sent to the Arduino Uno for processing and calculation of the water flow rate. The results of these calculations are displayed on an LCD screen, stored in EEPROM memory for long-term data recording, and can be monitored remotely via a smartphone. This gallon water filling tool has a system accuracy percentage of 98%.

Abstract

Digital images are essential visual representations in medical analysis, particularly for detecting tuberculoma, a severe tuberculosis complication with high mortality. This study aims to enhance the quality of MRI T1 images for identifying specific tuberculoma areas by comparing four method segmentation, thresholding, negation, and embossed. The dataset comprises T1 MRI brain scans in top and bottom positions, followed by pre-processing stages to reduce noise using gaussian blurring, median blurring, and sharpening techniques. The pre-processing results indicate all methods retain image details effectively. Further analysis reveals the Embossed method produces the clearest images with high contrast, facilitating tuberculoma identification. The advantage of this method lies in its ability to highlight structural details through a three-dimensional effect. The findings conclude that the embossed method effectively improves the accuracy of tuberculoma detection, contributing significantly to advancing medical image analysis techniques. This research is expected to positively impact imaging-based disease diagnosis, particularly in brain tumor cases like tuberculoma.
