Abstract

Introduction. Disaster is a series of events that can threaten and disrupt human life, caused by natural and non-natural factors. A flood disaster is a natural disaster that can occur due to extreme storms in the upper watersheds, climate change, and geomorphological conditions of soil slopes, erosion, and sediment material. Flood disasters will have an impact on the social situation, people's economy, health status and death. Method. A systematic review was conducted through several stages, namely making questions, identifying, eligibility, selecting article inclusions, screening, and appraisal. The selection process was listed in the Systematic review framework and 10 articles are obtained. Later, articles were summarized and rated according to The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) in each article. Result&Analysis. The data shows that the results vary according to the system, and the conditions in which the study was conducted. Increasing the role of the community in flood disaster management efforts is done by increasing community knowledge, skills and experience, related to an efficient disaster management system, with several methods, namely by giving questionnaires and conducting interviews with the community or family, special training and simulations. Discussion. To increase the awareness and role of the community in managing flood disasters, several methods are applied. The simulation method is an educational effort that can be used to improve people's knowledge, skills, and experience in conducting flood management activities.

Abstract

Introduction. Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is defined as Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT) with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. Gestational diabetes mellitus occurs in 2 to 9 percent of all pregnancies and is associated with substantial rates of maternal and perinatal complications. Women with a history of GDM have a sevenfold lifetime risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) compared with those with euglycemic pregnancies.A systematic review was conducted to evaluate the evidence from published studies on the effect of non-pharmacological interventions on the health of glycemic control of pregnant women at high risk (gestational diabetes mellitus).Method. The databases used in this systematic review are Scopus, Science Direct, and PubMed. Relevant articles were searched from 27 May to 29 June 2022. The publication year was limited to 2018 – 2022. A total of 20 randomized controlled trials were included that focused on non-pharmacological interventions in GDM women. Results & Analysis. The selected articles show that physical exercise interventions consist of moderate-intensity aerobic and resistance exercise, educational interventions include telemedicine and mobile health (m-health), and dietary nutrition interventions.Discussions. Non-pharmacological interventions can have a good effect on the control of GDM in the treatment of GDM. In general, women with GDM can improve their condition and prevent the risk of complications in childbirth. The physical exercise intervention had a significant beneficial effect on controlling blood glucose levels in GDM women, while other interventions that also had a beneficial effect were education with telemedicine and mobile health media.

Abstract

Introduction. Pregnancy is a physiological process that almost always takes place in every woman. However, there are some mothers who experience discomfort. Knowledge can be influenced by a person's characteristics including age and parity. Increasing a person's age can affect the increase in knowledge gained. Likewise, mothers who have several children generally have better knowledge because they have had hands-on experience in previous pregnancies. The incidence of discomfort in the third trimester at Clinic A was 56 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of age and parity on knowledge of pregnant women about discomfort of the third trimester at Kilink "A" Banjaran in 2022. Method. This research is an analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 85 pregnant women in the third trimester. Data analysis used multivariate analysis with linear regression, namely to test jointly the effect of the dependent variable, namely age and parity with the independent variable, namely knowledge. Result & Analysis. The results showed that the age variable has a correlation value of 0.363 while the parity variable has a correlation value of 0.041, meaning that the age factor is the most influential factor on knowledge. This can be related to the theory that the older a person is, the experience will increase and affect knowledge. this can happen because in this study most of the mothers were aged 25-35 years. Discussion. The age of 20-35 years is a mature age and has sufficient knowledge and experience both in terms of maturity in thinking and mentally to live a household.

Abstract

Introduction. Asthma is a chronic airway inflammatory disease with the characteristic of eosinophilic infiltration, mucus hypersecretion, and airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR). Lipid mediators are one of mediators that were suggested to be involved in asthma pathophysiology. Then, the pro-inflammatory mediators initiate inflammation while pro-resolving mediators are produced at later stage in the resolution phase to bring back the cellular homeostasis. Pro-resolving mediators can be produced from omega-3 (n-3), one of the essential fatty acid needed from food. Method. This research is a literature review based on some sources like books and journals with the same topic. Result & Analysis. The relation between diet, especially fatty acid, and the risk of lung inflammatory process, such as asthma has long been suggested. The metabolites of fatty acids and the fatty acid itself become decisive factors in regulating the persistence and resolution of bronchopulmonary inflammation in asthma. The high concentration of n-3 in vitro decreases production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, cytokines, and ROS that play critical roles in inflammatory process. Discussion. Since asthma is known to be mainly caused by an inflammatory process, it has been hypothesized that high intake of n-3 fatty acid may be beneficial in prevention and management of asthma.
