Abstract

PT Kebun Tebu Mas is a manufacturing company that produces white crystal sugar for the community, and refined sugar for industrial needs. In the sugar manufacturing industry, it is necessary to design the layout of the facility, especially in the laboratory section, it aims to make the work more effective and create an efficient transfer distance of the analysis process, with the hope that quality control can be carried out optimally. The obstacle faced by the laboratory of PT Kebun Tebu Mas is the layout design of the facilities which is not neatly arranged. The purpose of this research is to design an improved layout using the CORELAP method. The laboratory of PT Kebun Tebu Mas has 16 main facilities to analyze 13 core parameters, in quality control. The research was conducted using the CORELAP construction method, where qualitative data will be converted to quantitative data, as a basis and description for designing the layout of the facility. The results of this study are able to minimize the distance of 84 meters, so that the analysis process becomes more effective, where the displacement distance in the initial layout is 206.5 meters while the displacement distance in the improved layout is 122.5 meters, so that distance efficiency is 40.7% and time efficiency is 55. ,24%.

Abstract

Abstract The production process is the core of a manufacturing company's activities. Andi Jaya Group is a home industry engaged in the manufacture of wallets. Having the right amount and time to get raw materials aims to support the smooth production process and avoid shortages and excess of raw materials that can have an impact on costs incurred. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of raw material each time production so that effectiveness can be achieved using the MRP method of Lot For Lot Technique and Economic Order Quantity and knowing the amount of production scheduling for each period and knowing the total cost of raw material inventory production using the MRP method. Forecasting is an estimate of the level of demand for product needs over the next several periods using the linear regression method, moving average (MA), exponential smoothing to find out the estimated product demand. Material requirements planning is a method to determine the production process planning and raw material requirements in each component and determine the lead time for orders. From the analysis of data management carried out by the forecasting method, 50912 units were selected for the next 12 periods. The need for raw materials according to the MRP method The lot for lot (LFL) technique is the raw material for butega, lavender and 0.3 mm mica because the raw materials are always available and the total price of the wallet product is Rp. 18. 600,000. while the raw materials that use the EOQ calculation are zippers and sewing thread because they often run out of stock/delays in raw materials and the total price of the product for 12 periods of the wallet is Rp. 176,280,359

Abstract

Abstract PT. XYZ is a sugar producing company with a production capacity of 12,000 TCD (Ton Cane per Day). To be able to compete with its more experienced competitors, PT. XYZ needs a proper strategy. One of these strategies is to maintain and continuously improve product quality, as well as other aspects in all lines of the company. Constraints that occur at PT. XYZ is a low boiler efficiency level, which is in the range of 65%-75%. This value is 10% lower than the standard efficiency of boilers that use coal as fuel. The purpose of this study is to increase the optimization of the use of boiler fuel at the company PT. XYZ. By using the FMEA method and the New Seven Tools, the problems causing wasteful use of fuel can be mapped thoroughly, making it easier to understand the root of the problem, as well as looking for targeted improvement suggestions. The result is that it is known that there are 7 problems related to optimizing the use of coal fuel at PT. XYZ. Among them are the problem of 'High coal humidity' with a waste of Rp 7,036,281,797 per year, the problem of 'Steam pipe leaking' with a waste of Rp 1,323,800,301 per year, and the problem of 'Sootblow Superheater and Economizer not optimal' with a wasted cost of Rp 349,490. 375 per year

Abstract

Abstract This research was carried out to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurship carried out by students of the engineering faculty of Unhasy. The elements of cluster grouping are based on the entrepreneurial activities before becoming a student of the engineering faculty. This is to identify whether the activities have changed or not in terms of continued entrepreneurship after becoming a student at Unhasy. The processing of the data obtained shows that the program Entrepreneurship in the engineering faculty is identified based on: the alignment of the entrepreneurship program of Unhasy with implementation, the implementation of entrepreneurial practices, the entrepreneurship infrastructure that they have and want, the way to learn entrepreneurship, and the response to implementation of the Unhasy entrepreneurship program. From these variables, it shows in general that students of Unhasy's engineering faculty has been running entrepreneurship and survived until now at around 39%.

Abstract

Abstract The supply chain is a network system of several interconnected organizations with the same goal of distributing production goods and services to their customers. PT. Samudera Gemilang Plastindo (PT SGP) is a company engaged in the processing of plastic seeds, one of the products produced is HDPE T-Shirt Bag. The supply chain system studied at PT. SGP consists of a Manufacturing (Vendor) and 3 Sales Offices (SIM Jember, Depo Bali and 3S Bogor) because they often experience inaccuracies in forecasting data which causes the Bullwhip Effect phenomenon or information distortion to meet customer needs. Initially, forecasting was carried out at each level of the supply chain using different forecasting methods and inventory planning was carried out separately and not coordinated with each other. Therefore, we need an equation in choosing a forecasting method to synchronize the forecasting results and the implementation of production in each supply chain actor. This study uses the Collaborative Planning and Replenishment (CPFR) method, which is a method that combines production planning, forecasting and inventory control. The results of testing several forecasting methods, the method chosen is the Winter's Method because it has the smallest error value. Inventory control is done by calculating the optimal lot, namely Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). The results of demand forecasting and determining the optimal lot are used to calculate the value of the Bullwhip Effect that occurs after the use of the CPFR approach in the supply chain at the vendor level (PT SGP) has changed from 1.285 to 0.729, while in the three Sales Offices there has been a change from 1.321 to 0.528 in SIM Jember sales office, 1.266 to 0.602 at Bali Depo sales office, 1.377 to 0.412 at 3S Bogor sales office.

Abstract

Abstract PT. XYZ is a private sugar factory in Lamongan Regency, East Java. The resulting product is sugar, besides that the sugar production process cannot be separated from liquid waste. PT. XYZ often has problems in the treatment of WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) at the input in the BE pond (Equalization Tank). Influent in the BE pond (Equalization Tank) often occurs levels of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) that do not match the company's quality standards because the influent input is sometimes too large. The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of the influent product to match the company's quality standards with aspects of activated sludge utilization in BE ponds (Equalization Tank). The taguchi method is used as a method to improve and improve quality and analyze the factors that influence the quality of the influent, including the volume of activated sludge, the length of the aerator running, the volume of waste, the interval between activated sludge added and observed. Taguchi standard orthogonal matrix L8(27) used the objective function 'the value is getting smaller (closer to the desired 0)'. The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) obtained that the dominant factor affecting the quality of the influent was the volume of waste (C), while based on the Taguchi method, the most optimal experimental results resulted in a combination of 100 ml activated sludge volume, 5 hours aerator running time, 1 liter waste volume, the gap between activated sludge was added and observed for 5 hours.

Abstract

Industrial engineering laboratory is an important component in a high-level learning in industrial engineering study program. The university wants a correct and proper layout for the placement of various kinds of learning support tools and practicums in the laboratory for Industrial Engineering students. There are 3 laboratory rooms, namely the Manufacturing Industry Laboratory, the Service Industry Laboratory, and the Industrial Integration System Laboratory. The research focused on the placement of laboratory equipment within the limited space available. This study aims to determine the priority criteria and alternative placement of the best laboratory equipment. The method used is AHP-TOPSIS, the AHP method is used for weighting the assessment criteria, while the TOPSIS method is used to sort the location of various laboratory equipment. The researcher determined that there were 4 criteria, namely the dimensions of the tool, the level of danger, maintenance, and the mobility of the tool. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the AHP-TOPSIS method can be used as a decision-making framework in selecting the right place for laying various laboratory equipment. Placement of tools that have the criteria of tool dimensions with heavy mass and mobility of tools that are often moved are placed in the Manufacturing Industry Laboratory.AHP, TOPSIS, laboratory, decision making

Abstract

Industrial engineering is an engineering field that includes the knowledge of design, repair, and manufacture integrated systems consisting of people, raw materials, information, equipment, and energy. The laboratory is used to complete the observed research, especially industrial problems in the industrial engineering department. Based on previous research, as many as 62.5% of lecturers found it difficult to store laboratory equipment in the workspace and 81.25% suggested to rearrange the layout of the laboratory. This study aimed to design the layout of laboratory equipment by using the 5S method. The first step to do the research was reducing laboratory activities, initial identifying of laboratory layouts, grouping the machines and tools, designing the laboratory layouts, implementing 5S, and evaluating new designs by using the Self-Assessment Form. The resulting layout is in accordance with the 5S principle, the design of the wardrobe is relatively small, and the design adapts to the space and equipment stored. The results then showed that 5S performance data in the laboratory before the implementation was 0.71 which in the fair rating category, and after the application of 5S the average score becomes 1.5 which in the excellent rating category. However, it shows that there is two-fold increase before the implementation 5S method.

Abstract

Every year, the number of accident cases in Indonesia has been increased. The latest data in 2018 showed that there were 157,313 cases involving work accidents. In the fact, the laboratory is a place or room equipped with equipment for conducting experiments (investigations and so on). The manufacturing process of one of the practicums by using a machine can cause noise that is not appropriate with Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and the place is also inseparable from the potential dangers or even the risk of work accidents from the tools and practicum materials for the practitioner. There were efforts to prevent and minimize the work accidents in the laboratory, one of which is by applying the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method and increasing the knowledge of K3 (Occupational Health and Safety). The purpose of this study is to know the application of JSA and the knowledge of K3 of work accidents in the Hasyim Asy'ari University laboratory. The method of this researcher was that identifying and analyzing the risks that occur. The results showed the sequence of work, potential hazards and control efforts made from each hazard. In short, the application of this method hopefully able to make the practitioner aware of the dangers that occur if they do not comply with the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) that has been made previously.

Abstract

Satisfying service is a priority for airlines so airlines compete to create comfort. In addition, flights also affect external matters because the airline needs to minimize errors which often occur. To overcome this, it is necessary to monitor the performance of airlines. One method used is the application of a business intelligence system which can provide reporting dashboards that can provide interactive data analysis information. The amount of data from flight traffic stored in the data warehouse becomes very useful if managed properly to get various kinds of hidden insights. With the implementation of business intelligence, the data can be utilized so it becomes a tool in making decisions for the development and improvement of air traffic and the impact of air traffic. The object of this research used raw data from public data. This research method used the Business Intelligence Roadmap (BIR). The results of the study made 3 dashboards: the first dashboard showed a pattern which was almost the same as the total delay data in 3 consecutive years. This was due to a high proportion of weather conditions in America. The second dashboard depicted a positive correlation between airplane visits and economic growth. The third dashboard indicated the number of flights that were frequently used by passengers as a standard reference that the need for and comfort for aircraft facilities because the quality of service provided by the airline was very important for consumers who used flight services.
