In order to implement communicative learning activities, a teacher must be able to design various means or media so that learning process keeps running well. A teacher is expected not to stutter in designing media for various learning needs. The main purpose of this study is to examine the strategies done by teachers in designing media to implement communicative learning. This research is a descriptive research in which the data were collected from teachers of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (public Islamic senior high schools) in Pekanbaru city. The research sample was 36 teachers. The instrument used to collect the data was a scale questionnaire. The data were descriptively analyzed. Each item of the questionnaire becomes the basis and the principal of the research analysis. The research findings reveal that to implement communicative learning, the teachers designed learning media. The strategies they used are making use of e-learning and making use of various teaching and learning facilities, creating student worksheets and compiling teaching materials, and presenting slides or other media in accordance with the teaching materials. Each of the strategy is set at a very high standard. The teachers’ strategy to design media at the public schools runs well. It can be seen from the average of the strategy that is 4.48 and the average belongs to very high category. The data also clearly reveal that the teachers are creative and innovative in designing media to implement communicative learning.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of moving class learning models and pedagogical competencies of teachers on learning motivation and its impact on student learning discipline in SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Seikijang. The population of this research were 151 students of class VIII and IX. Sampling method used proportional random sampling using the Slovin formula, so as to obtain 110 students. Data collection used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used a path analysis. The results of the analysis show that the application of the moving class learning model and the pedagogical competition of the teacher have a positive and direct and indirect effect on student learning discipline through intervening variables (learning motivation). In accordance with the results of the observation, the dominant contribution to the increase in motivation and discipline of students to learn is the presence of pedagogical competence of the teacher while the application of the moving class learning model only makes a smaller contribution. This shows that the good or bad quality of the teacher's pedagogical competencies and the moving class learning model will also reduce or increase student learning motivation which has an impact on student learning discipline.

Chemistry is to study the concepts which are mostly abstract. One of them is in colloidal material. The abstract concepts are difficult to understand if only explained in two-dimensional form. Therefore, a media is needed to visualize the abstract concepts of colloidal material both in terms of both macroscopic and microscopic. This study aims to develop an interactive learning media using Autoplay Media Studio 8 that is worthy of being used as a learning media. The study used the Research and Development (R & D) method which refered to the Borg and Gall model. Data collection techniques were in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires (teachers and students). The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. The results show that the percentage score obtained from five experts (two media experts and three material experts) gained 96.74% with very valid categories. The results of trials for teachers and students each obtained an average percentage score of 87% and 92% with very practical categories. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that interactive learning media using Autoplay Media Studio 8 on chemistry subjects of colloid material in class XI SMA/MA are appropriate to be used as learning media.

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has a very big influence on education. With the enactment of the 2013 Curriculum, a technology-based curriculum, teachers as learning agents must continue to equip themselves with knowledge related to ICT. This descriptive study aims to describe and analyze self-efficacy and attitudes of the teachers of SMAN Kuansing District towards the utilization of ICT in learning activities. Obstacles faced by the teachers in utilizing ICT and the efforts that have been done to overcome the obstacles are also discussed. The research data was collected in August 2018. By using stratified random sampling technique, 55 teachers were determined as the sample. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Then, the questionnaire was analyzed through descriptive statistics to obtain frequencies and percentages. Finally, it can be concluded that the average score of self-efficacy of the teachers of SMAN in Kuansing District in utilizing ICT is 80.6% and the average score of their attitudes is 92.8%. It means that their self-efficacy and attitude are in very good levels. Although there are many obstacles faced by teachers in terms of facilities, infrastructure and human resources, the teachers have their own strategies to solve those obstacle.

Autonomy in learning is an ability required by each individual to cope all life challenges. A person with higher learning autonomy could study better and is capable of observing, evaluating and managing his study effectively and efficiently, and saving the time to accomplish given tasks. However, students’ learning autonomy (SLA) has in fact not yet well-developed up to senior high school level. Generative learning (GL) is considered able to elicit the development of SLA. This research aims to examine students’ autonomy in learning through the implementation of GL. The type of this research is quasi experiment with pretest and posttest control group design. The research used a set of learning autonomy scales as its instrument. The research result shows that GL could better enhance SLA compared to conventional learning; perceived from a whole: 0.58 > 0.51, perceived from the school category: 0.65 > 0.58 (superior), 0.57 > 0.51 (moderate), 0.51 > 0.44 (low) and students’ early mathematics skill (EMS): 0.74 > 0.69 (high), 0.60 > 0.54 (medium), 0.35 > 0.31 (low). Both control and experimental classes have moderate learning autonomy improvement. Meanwhile, in terms of EMS, those obtaining GL treatment improved moderately, and the control class has a poor increase.

This research was a classroom action research using a peer tutor learning model to improve physics learning outcomes. Peer tutor learning is a learning that utilizes classmates who have more ability to help their friends in carrying out an activity or understanding the concept of learning. The problem to be solved is the low physics learning outcomes of class XI IPA 3 in SMA 3 Bengkalis. This study consisted of three cycles, in each cycle consisting of four stages, namely Planning, Implementation, Observation and Reflection. This research involved 21 students which are consisting of 13 female students and 8 male students. In the pre-cycle process, the percentage of learning completeness was 19.05%, then after learning the first cycle using the peer tutoring model there was an increase in the percentage of learning completeness to 42.89%. In the second cycle, it increased again to 61.91% and in the third cycle, it succeeded in achieving the percentage of learning completeness of 85.71%. The results showed that an increase in student learning outcomes along with the application of peer tutoring models. Thus, the results of the study indicate that the use of peer tutoring models can improve the physics learning outcomes of XI IPA 3 students in SMA 3 Bengkalis.

This research aims to determine the characteristics of THOTSIC in class X chemistry material and to develop a valid and reliable package of questions. The results of PISA study in 2015 showed that the performance of Indonesian students was still relatively low. National Examination, as a benchmark for national standards, should consist of questions component with higher level thinking skills. Chemistry is a central science because it connects various other scientific fields. This is development research based on Research & Development (R & D) using the Plomp model. The results showed the average score of the material expert validator assessment was 99.27%. Limited trials consisted of 1 chemistry teacher and 10 students in class XI. Data analysis showed that teachers’ response questionnaires were 4.93 as a very good category and students’ were78.95% as a good category. The analysis of the reliability level of the questions was 0.62 in the high category level. The level of difficulty of the questions was 0.3 as a difficult criteria and the problem differentiator was 0.39, Dp≥0.3 = as the question was accepted.
