Magenang: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen
MAGENANG adalah jurnal kajian Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Jurnal ini diterbitkan oleh Pascasarjana Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Manado (IAKN) Manado.Tujuan Jurnal Magenang adalah menghasilkan dan memajukan karya tulis ilmiah melalui media penelitian dan pemikiran kritis analitis di bidang kajian Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen.Nama Magenang berarti berpikir.Magenang adalah sebuah kata yang diambil dari bahasa Toutemboan (sub suku di Minahasa). Kata Magenang yang dipakai sebagai nama jurnal ilmiah ini dimaknai sebagai cara berpikir kritis untuk menghasilkan pikiran yang kritis di bidang Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Jurnal Magenang diterbitkan dengan frekuensi 2 kali setahun pada bulan Juli dan Desember. MAGENANG menerima tulisan artikel yang mencakup Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Artikel yang dikirimkan haruslah belum pernah atau tidak sedang dalam proses dimuat dalam jurnal lainnya. Setiap artikel yang dikirim harus mengikuti petunjuk penulisan atau gaya selingkung yang telah ditetapkan. Setiap artikel yang diajukan ke Jurnal Magenang akan melewati tahapan review menggunakan blind review, yang berfokus pada kebaruan Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. <![CDATA[Menjalani kehidupan sebagai narapidana tentu ada beban dan dampak tersendiri. Maka sudah pasti mereka membutuhkan bantuan serta perhatian dari orang lain. Pendampingan pastoral merupakan salah satu bentuk perhatian yang juga bagian dari pembinaan yang dapat diberikan bagi para narapidana, khususnya narapidana Kristen. Oleh sebab itu, artikel ini membahas tentang pendampingan pastoral yang optimal bagi narapidana Kristen di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan kelas II B Tondano, Kabupaten Minahasa, Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa pendampingan pastoral dengan mengadakan percakapan pastoral, merupakan bagian penting dalam membina narapidana. Karena melalui bentuk pendampingan seperti itu dapat membantu mereka mengatasi masalah-masalah yang dialami dalam diri mereka, serta dapat membangun kembali kepercayaan kepada Allah agar mereka mau terdorong memperbaharui diri supaya ke depannya menjadi manusia yang lebih baik lagi.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan dan menjelaskan tentang dampak dan strategi gereja yang berfokus pada jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM) menghadapi COVID-19. Selama ini, pelayanan gereja dilakukan oleh pelayan khusus melibatkan pertemuan kontak fisik dalam satu rumah atau jejaring sosial keagamaan di gedung gereja. Namun artikel ini mengungkapkan bahwa selama pandemi COVID-19 membatasi semua orang melakukan peribadatan dalam jumlah besar sehingga muncul banyak gereja rumah. Membatasi tanpa melanggar ditindaklanjuti melalui peribadatan gereja rumah dengan menciptakan sebuah ruang kebersamaan yang harmonis. Penggunaan Pengeras suara (toa), tata ibadah, tv kabel dapat dipakai dalam melaksanakan peribadatan selain live streaming yang menggunakan kuota data internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik deskripsi. Data primer melalui wawancara dan observasi mendalam dilakukan di daerah Minahasa dan Minahasa Selatan pada empat anggota jemaat. Data sekunder menggunakan buku, jurnal, makalah dan internet. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa anggota jemaat GMIM mengikuti himbauan pemerintah dan Sinode GMIM untuk menjalankan protokol kesehatan melalui nilai kemanusiaan yang dipengaruhi faktor sosial, ekonomi, lingkungan dan budaya.]]>

<![CDATA[Christianity is a religion that can be said to be quite large and growing rapidly in the world. Since the first time people who believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior were called Christian in Antioch, the development in terms of quantity continued to increase and eventually spread to Indonesia through missionaries from the Western world. Along with the development on the field of technology and information era, this makes people consider culture as an ancient thing that needs to be abandoned. Not only technology, with the development of Western theology, makes culture lost without trace. Western theology views culture as an idol and therefore according to Christian teachings that Christians should not be involved in it. This paper will provide a new horizon where theology and culture should not be the two things that should not be hostiled to each other but both must be united so that the cultural community can interpret its faith more concretely. The method used in this research is a qualitative description method using literature study and also theories that are used as a tool to look back at theology in a plural society system. The attitude of Christians towards culture is strongly influenced by the construction of theology that is built. Therefore, it is important to look back and review the theology that develops in culture. In addition, studying the Bible's view of culture and how theology should behave is of the utmost importance. At the end of this paper, the author will contribute giving the thoughts on how theology is manifested in a pluralistic culture.]]>

<![CDATA[Based on the study and understanding that the Bible is the Word of God which is the basis of faith for every believer to be able to provide a transformative value of life to glorify Christ in church life, this article is intended to describe and formulate dogmatically the doctrine of the Bible from evangelical theology perspective. The research results obtained through the literature study approach that the Bible is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit which also inspired the biblical writers to preach the News about the Kingdom of God for every believer. In addition, the Bible is also used as a benchmark for preaching the Word of God in the life of the church community. The implication for the reformatory church is that the church must return to the Bible as the reformers thought in accordance with the Sola Scriptura motto.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is an investigation into traces of the myths and rituals of the Bolaang Mongondow people that shape the reality of their world view. The study was carried out using a descriptive method that was built from diverse and relevant scientific literature research. The results of this study show the components of the traditional culture of the Bolaang Mongondow people, namely the stories of the past and certain traditional ceremonies that shape their worldview concept, including their beliefs that have a background in folk religion with animism-dynamism and traditional social structures which is in the form of a monarchy. This then shapes their world view which continues to influence their attitudes and behaviors even though there have been social changes because time always points forward. Thus it can determine and recommend a complete service approach that is contextual and relevant to Bolaang Mongondow people, both spiritual, social, economic, educational, and so on.]]>

<![CDATA[By using a qualitative approach and historical critical interpretation method, this paper shows the story of Mark 5: 1-20 which tells about the exorcism of Satan from the body of the Gerasenes by Jesus. Jesus' actions are evidence of His power over the power of the evil Spirit. Not only that, Jesus' actions are a form of concern for foreigners, non-Jews. Jesus showed an example of hospitality towards strangers, namely those who were neglected and underestimated in society. ]]>

<![CDATA[This article examines the professionalism of Christian ReligiousEducation Teachers at the Senior High School level in Manado City. Theresearch was conducted using qualitative methods which were built fromliterature research, observation and interviews.This study begins with research on the professionalism ofteachers, both teachers in general and Christian Religious Educationteachers which are based on the example of the life and ministry of theLord Jesus Christ as the Great Teacher. Then proceed with empiricalresearch on the form of professionalism of Christian Religious Educationteachers, the obstacles faced by Christian Religious Education teachers inincreasing their professionalism and the efforts of Christian ReligiousEducation teachers in overcoming obstacles to increase theirprofessionalism.The results of the study show that there is an opinion regardingprofessional teachers of Christian Religious Education at the high schoollevel in the city of Manado which have links to formalities such as aminimum bachelor's diploma, following the teacher certification process,education and training, understanding the curriculum and alliances withfellow teachers. The obstacle for a Christian Religious Education teacherin increasing his professionalism comes from external factors such as thelimited development costs and opportunities for developing ChristianReligious Education teachers themselves. Meanwhile, the efforts of aChristian Religious Education teacher in overcoming obstacles inincreasing professionalism are also external factors such as furtherstudies, mastery of the curriculum and skills in the preparation oflearning tools.With the results of this study, it is possible to recommendproposals for Christian Religious Education teachers, especially in thecity of Manado for the professional development of teachers using theAction Research model. This model provides opportunities for ChristianReligious Education teachers to be involved and as the main actors in thelearning process, they identify and find problems, and then explore,explore and find their own answers to problems they encounter in the 3field. <![CDATA[This study traces the Inculturation and Acculturation of Bolaang Mongondow Ethnics, one of the social groups in North Sulawesi. The elements of Inculturation studied consisted of History and Social Contexts, while the Elements of Acculturation studied consisted of the attitude of the Bolaang Mongondow People to Openness and Change. This study shows that the Bolaang Mongondow ethnic group has historically originated from the background of traditional societies who have a wealth of cultural arts and then by interaction and influence from outside communities have had an open attitude towards outsiders and change. <![CDATA[This article is a literary study with a biblical study which suggests the concept of an ecclesiastical office based on 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 on the quality of Christian leaders. To describe this, the author presents various information from primary and secondary sources related to the research topic which is then presented descriptively. From the research carried out, the concept of the quality of Christian leaders based on 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 is important to be understood and demonstrated by Christian leaders today in order to be able to address various challenges in the midst of his leadership. There are five qualities that must be possessed by a Christian leader, among others; spiritual quality, personality quality, cognitive quality, social quality and professional quality. One factor that makes Christian leaders ineffective, efficient and productive in their leadership practices is due to lack of understanding and living the quality of Christian leaders based on the Bible, specifically 1 Timothy 3: 1-7.]]>

<![CDATA[This article aims to find out effective discipleship strategies in higher education through Christian Religious Education, using descriptive qualitative methods. The Christian Religious Education Course which weighs only 2-3 credits per semester does not allow for effective, efficient and productive discipleship. So, discipleship must be carried out outside the classroom. In the classroom only to deliver lecture material and continued outside the classroom in the form of small groups. Indeed, lecturers are very important to empower senior students to guide juniors so that they take root, grow and bear fruit in Christ.]]>
