MAGENANG adalah jurnal kajian Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Jurnal ini diterbitkan oleh Pascasarjana Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Manado (IAKN) Manado.Tujuan Jurnal Magenang adalah menghasilkan dan memajukan karya tulis ilmiah melalui media penelitian dan pemikiran kritis analitis di bidang kajian Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen.Nama Magenang berarti berpikir.Magenang adalah sebuah kata yang diambil dari bahasa Toutemboan (sub suku di Minahasa). Kata Magenang yang dipakai sebagai nama jurnal ilmiah ini dimaknai sebagai cara berpikir kritis untuk menghasilkan pikiran yang kritis di bidang Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Jurnal Magenang diterbitkan dengan frekuensi 2 kali setahun pada bulan Juli dan Desember. MAGENANG menerima tulisan artikel yang mencakup Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Artikel yang dikirimkan haruslah belum pernah atau tidak sedang dalam proses dimuat dalam jurnal lainnya. Setiap artikel yang dikirim harus mengikuti petunjuk penulisan atau gaya selingkung yang telah ditetapkan. Setiap artikel yang diajukan ke Jurnal Magenang akan melewati tahapan review menggunakan blind review, yang berfokus pada kebaruan Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen. Abstract

This article discusses the views and beliefs of the Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches regarding the Bible. History shows the differences or separation between the two churches, especially the position of the Bible and tradition, but in the process of the ecumenical movement in which the efforts to accept and acknowledge each other, transcending the separation is a shared understanding of the meaning of the Bible for life. The discussion of this article concludes that in the differences that exist between the Catholic and Protestant churches regarding the position and belief in the Bible and tradition, in the historical dialectic, directly or indirectly, the beliefs of these two churches are about how the divine messages must continue to be contextualized in order to still meaningful for life together.

Abstract

Cross-cultural evangelism is the duty of all believers without exception. In Acts 10 there is an interesting phenomenon related to cross-cultural ministry. In this verse it is recorded that the apostle Peter was given an assignment by God through a vision to go to Cornelius' place, to preach about Jesus. Cornelius was a Greek while the apostle Peter was a Jew. The Apostle Peter was a Jew who held firmly to Jewish customs. This shows the existence of cross-cultural services that occur. This article aims to describe the implementation of cross-cultural services based on Acts 10:34-43. The author uses descriptive qualitative research methods by analyzing data such as books and journals. From the results of the analysis, the writer finds that the church needs to introduce Christ as a God who loves everyone, proclaims that everyone has the right to receive salvation, conveys the message of peace through Jesus Christ to everyone, and conveys the message of peace through Jesus Christ to everyone. The church's awareness of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus, one of which is to implement cross-cultural services, especially in terms of evangelism.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the parenting pattern of parents in growing children's spirituality in the GMIM Imanuel Taratara Congregation, analyze the factors that influence parenting patterns in growing children's spirituality in the GMIM Imanuel Taratara Congregation and describes the efforts made to overcome obstacles in parenting patterns in growing children's spirituality in the GMIM Imanuel Taratara Congregation. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative research method which was carried out at the GMIM Imanuel Taratara Congregation. From the results of data exposure, findings and discussion, it is necessary for parents to understand the importance of parenting in fostering children's spirituality so that they can direct children to be able to grow spirituality well.

Abstract

This study aims to examine perspective of Christian leadership on the role of principals in school-based management. By using qualitative literature research methods and the source of the data is secondary data, this research is done by data analyzing, classifying and organizing the data that is sorted for later presented and concluded. Data acquisition contains the concepts of Christian leadership, school-based management implementation, and the role of the principal in school-based management. The results of the literature review are (1) theoretically, the principal requirements of Christian leadership's vocation, where according to the qualifications and competencies a person has can be determined to be the school leader, (2) practically, above theory's conformity is not intensive applied to every task and role elements, attitudes and behaviors, as well as the principal's competence. (3) the inhibiting factor of the principal's role is not in line with Christian leadership is due to work orientation that is too broad, but does not equip themselves, while the supporters are activities in the form of training, direction, and competency development that focus on the overall task and function in educational leadership.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the development of the values ​​contained in Mealtable Sharing related to the value of harmony in the family, the process of developing the value of mealtable sharing in the GMIM Bukit Sion Mapanget Congregation in relation to the harmonious relationship of love between parents and children, Inhibiting factors in the process of developing the Value of Mealtable Sharing on the Harmony of Love Relationships between Parents and Children in the GMIM Bukit Sion Mapanget Congregation, and the efforts made by parents and Church leaders in overcoming the inhibiting factors related to the development of the Value of Mealtable Sharing on Harmony The Relationship of Love between Parents and Children in the GMIM Bukit Zion Mapanget Congregation. This research method is a descriptive qualitative research conducted at the GMIM Bukit Sion Mapanget Congregation. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. From the results of the analysis and interpretation of the data obtained that: (1). Eating together and talking together "mealtable sharing" is often done by families in which there is an atmosphere to give love to each other, is a place for teaching and educating children, can strengthen harmonious relations between parents and children and can improve children's development. The values ​​found when sitting down to eat together include togetherness, respect, harmony, gratitude for the blessings that God has given so as to create a harmonious loving relationship between parents and children. (2). The inhibiting factors are the lack of parental time due to busy work and the distance that separates them, the child's lack of trust in parents, and the presence of technological developments that limit the interaction between parents and children. (3). There is also the role of parents by providing time from a lot of busy work, creating a comfortable atmosphere and teaching about wisdom in using cellphones. (4). There is also the role of Church leaders through preaching and pastoral services to be able to direct the understanding of parents to be examples and role models, take advantage of technological sophistication, introspect themselves, and rebuild trust with children. From the results of data exposure, findings, and discussion, it is necessary for parents and families to understand the importance of sitting down to eat and talk together at the dining table so that they can strengthen the harmonious loving relationship between parents and children.

Abstract

The standard of acceptance in society is one's normality. But people with disabilities are stigmatised as marginalized people and vulnerable to violence and discrimination. Such situations reflect the great danger that threatens people with intellectual disabilities (Mental Retardation). Their mental state is considered a punishment for sin and labeled as abnormal. This paper aims to formulate the role of Christian hospitality for people with disabilities (Mental retardation). This research uses qualitative approach with theological research type and social descriptive research. The result of this study is, first Christian hospitality should be one of the pioneers of hospitalization for people with disabilities (mental retardation). Second, disability must be addressed and understood from the concept of imago dei that man is created as a picture and similar to God.

Abstract

It is undeniable that the death of biological parents can affect the emotional development of children. The purpose of this study is to reveal the reality of the emotional development of orphaned adolescents at the Dorkas Sidoarjo Orphanage. To answer the purpose of the author uses a literature study research method in a phenomenological perspective. The findings of this study there are two factors that influence the emotional development of adolescents. The internal factor is the age when teenagers face the death of one or both of their parents, which greatly affects their emotional development: feelings of worthlessness, anxiety and depression arise and some even fall into juvenile delinquency who deal with the police. The external factor is spiritual development and is also supported by a conducive atmosphere full of kinship in the orphanage which has a positive impact on emotional development.

Abstract

The callenges in to day’s globalization world are increasingly surpising human’s life, especially in the end of 2019, under Corona Virus Pandemi (Covid-19). The emergence of virus namely the Covid-19 Pandemi has Caused Vavirous concerns for the world and especially for social life. Not only in certain sorsiety emerged about it, but panic is even more experienced in today’s world. From this panics the goverment in every country has made various efforts to evercome the fromlems, inclunding Indonesia. From this challeges, the author tries to frovide vavirous explanations regarding these challenges and in relation to hospitality, attitudes or interactions towords others, especially in the life or Christians. This article ofers an approach using, qualitative resears approach, that the literature in theological theory research, and qualitative descriptive research, that the applicatios of Christian education behavior in responding the challenges during the pandemic is the value of applying the faith of a Chirstian in social relations with others in the mids of chalenges during the pandemic. Tantangan-tantangan di dunia global sekarang ini, semakin mengejutkan kehidupan manusia terutama di akhir tahun 2019, dengan munculnya sebuah pandemi yaitu Virus Corona (Covid-19). Munculnya virus yang disebut pandemi Covid-19 ini menimbulkan berbagai kekhawatiran bagi dunia dan terutama bagi kehidupan bermasyarakat. Bukan hanya dalam masyarakat tertentu timbul kepanikan akan hal itu, namun kepanikan justru lebih dialami pada dunia sekarang ini. Dari kepanikan-kepanikan tersebut, pemerintah dalam setiap Negara sudah melakukan berbagai upaya untuk mangatasi masalah tersebut termasuk di Negara Indonesia. Dari tantangan-tantangan tersebut penulis mencoba memberikan berbagai penjelasan mengenai tantangan itu dan dalam hubungannya dengan hospitalitas, sikap atau interaksi masyarakat terhadap sesama, terutama dalam kehidupan umat Kristiani. Dalam penulisan ini, penulis hendak memperlihatkan bagaimana seharusnya sikap umat Kristiani terhadap tantangan-tantangan tersebut. Artikel ini menawarkan sebuah pendekatan dengan menggunakan literatur pendekatan kualitatif dalam penelitian teori teologis, dan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, bahwa penerapan tingkah laku pendidikan Kristiani dalam merespon tantangan di masa pandemi ini adalah nilai untuk menerapkan keimanan seorang Kristiani dalam relasi sosial antara sesama di tengah tantangan-tantangan di masa pandemi ini.

Abstract

This article is a study of relevant learning methods for early childhood, especially those that have been applied to early childhood education units (PAUD) which name is Kelompok Belajar, Beriman dan Bermain dan Taman Kanak-Kanak (KBTRI dan TK) Ceria Terpadu Wamena, Papua in 2016. This study was preceded by a theoretical reference on the multifaceted learning methods of early childhood education. Then followed by the results of empirical research. Theoretical references are built through literature studies, while empirical research uses qualitative methods with descriptive types built with participant field observations and unstructured interviews. The results of the study show that various PAUD learning methods have been applied by teachers KBTRI dan TK Ceria Terpadu Wamena to the students they have mentored. Various learning methods are used by teachers in conveying messages or learning materials, both theory and practice to the students they mentor. Thus the use of learning methods in order to help students to receive all the information or messages conveyed by the teachers according to the learning materials they have prepared well.

Abstract

This classroom action research discusses efforts to improve student learning outcomes through the use of discussion methods. The problem in this study is that the PAK learning process in class VII rarely or less uses the simulation method. This causes various problems in the classroom, including: lack of interest in student learning, low student learning outcomes. The benefit of this research is that it can find various obstacles as well as solutions, regarding the use of the simulation method as an effort to improve PAK learning outcomes while motivating teachers to be skilled in choosing and using methods in learning to attract students' interest in learning. The results showed that by using the simulation method there was a change in students, namely students became interested, and active and motivated so as to improve student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that teachers in teaching must be able to determine and use appropriate methods
