Abstract

This study examines Batu na Pir Sitinjak as a traditional Batak Toba art work that is rich in aesthetic, symbolic, and spiritual values. Batu na Pir not only functions as an ancestral tomb, but also as a visual representation of the Batak people's outlook on life, beliefs, and social structure. Using a traditional art theory approach, the elements of form, texture, and gorga ornaments are analyzed in relation to cosmological values that reflect the relationship between humans, ancestors, and the universe. Clifford Geertz's symbolism theory is used to interpret visual symbols that depict the structure of the upper, middle, and lower worlds. Meanwhile, Hans-Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic approach allows the reading of Batu na Pir as a living "visual text" that is open to dialogue across time and culture. The results of the study show that Batu na Pir Sitinjak is a cultural artifact that integrates aesthetic, ritual, and social functions, as well as being a medium of cultural communication that conveys the collective identity and noble values of the Batak Toba people. The preservation of these artifacts is important as an effort to maintain the sustainability of meaningful and dynamic visual cultural heritage.

Abstract

The quality of the learning process is often hampered by teaching methods that lack variety and fail to engage students, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study focuses on the development and evaluation of interactive learning media based on Quizizz as an effort to improve student learning outcomes at Raudhatul Huffaz Learning House. The research methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D) following the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluate). Data were collected through observation, documentation studies, and questionnaires. Research participants included 39 general students from Raudhatul Huffaz Learning House taking PAI subjects. Expert validation results indicate that the Quizizz learning media is highly suitable and practical. Assessments from media experts yielded an average of 3.7, while material experts gave an average of 4.0, both signifying "very practical" criteria. Trials on a small group (5 students) showed a student response rate of 90% with an "excellent" category. Subsequently, trials on a large group (22 out of 39 students) recorded a 91% response rate with the same category. Comparative analysis between pretest and posttest results revealed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. The learning completeness level before intervention only reached 18% ("incomplete"), but surged to 71% ("complete") after using the Quizizz media, demonstrating a 53% increase in learning outcomes. Thus, this study concludes that the development of interactive learning media using Quizizz is highly effective in supporting the improvement of student learning outcomes in PAI.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived parental expectations and perfectionism with fear of failure among final-year university students in Yogyakarta. Academic pressure, high parental expectations, and perfectionistic tendencies are often the dominant factors contributing to students’ fear of failure. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 231 randomly selected respondents. The instruments included three Likert-type scales: fear of failure (55 items), perceived parental expectations (28 items), and perfectionism (33 items). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between perceived parental expectations and fear of failure (r = 0.662; p < 0.05), as well as between perfectionism and fear of failure (r = 0.698; p < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the two independent variables jointly accounted for 64.5% of the variation in fear of failure (R² = 0.645). These findings highlight the importance of supportive parenting and psychological interventions to reduce maladaptive perfectionism and promote student well-being.

Abstract

The development of electric vehicle technology drives research on more efficient and environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery anode materials. This study aims to analyze the effect of composition variations of graphite and coconut shell charcoal on electrical conductivity, bending strength, and microstructure of polymer conductor plates for lithium-ion battery applications. The method used was the manufacture of conductor plates with graphite:coconut shell charcoal:epoxy resin compositions of 70%:20%:10%, 60%:30%:10%, and 50%:40%:10% using dry pressing technique with 5 Tons pressure. Testing was conducted following ASTM B193 standard for electrical conductivity, ASTM D790 for bending strength, and microstructure analysis using Olympus BX53M microscope. The results showed that samples with graphite 70%:coconut shell charcoal 20%:epoxy resin 10% composition produced the highest electrical conductivity of 187.8 S/cm and lowest resistivity of 0.071 ?. Conversely, samples with graphite 50%:coconut shell charcoal 40%:epoxy resin 10% composition produced the highest bending strength of 3.84 MPa. Microstructure analysis showed that increasing coconut shell charcoal composition reduced material porosity and increased mechanical strength. This research proves that higher graphite composition increases electrical conductivity, while higher coconut shell charcoal composition increases bending strength but decreases electrical conductivity.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the dynamics of the personality structure of the main character in the novel Project of Death by Eddie Sindunata using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic approach, which includes three main components: id, ego, and superego. The main character in the novel, Hardi Setiawan, is analyzed to identify inner conflicts as well as ego defense mechanisms that arise in response to psychological pressure. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through in-depth reading of texts, dialogue recording, and narratives that reflect the psychological aspects of the characters. The results of the study show that the dynamics of id, ego, and superego in Hardi are manifested through spontaneous impulses (id), logical considerations (ego), as well as moral awareness and professional responsibility (superego). Conflicts between these three personality structures create complex internal tensions, which are resolved through ego defense mechanisms such as rationalization and sublimation. These findings confirm the relevance of Freud's theory in studying fictional characters, as well as enriching the understanding of literary works as a mirror of human psychological conditions. This research is expected to contribute to the development of the study of literary psychology in Indonesia, especially in interpreting the complexity of character personalities through a psychoanalytic approach..

Abstract

This study employed a descriptive quantitative cross-sectional design to assess the prevalence and characteristics of depression among pregnant women receiving Antenatal Care (ANC) in a rural region. A total of 51 participants completed the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), and normality testing revealed p = 0.09, confirming that the data distribution was suitable for parametric analysis. The results indicated that 15 respondents (29.4?%) exhibited symptoms of depression during pregnancy. Additional demographic analysis revealed that the majority of these women were between 20 and 35 years of age (80?%), were in their second trimester (53.3?%), and had experienced previous pregnancies (multigravida) (66.7?%). These findings suggest that nearly one-third of pregnant women in this rural setting are at increased risk of depression. Accordingly, the study emphasizes the importance of integrating routine maternal depression screening into ANC services, with a particular focus on high-risk groups, such as multigravida women and those in their second trimester. Establishing such screening as a standard component of care may serve as an effective early intervention strategy to prevent adverse outcomes, including preterm birth, low birth weight, and disruptions in the child’s physical and mental development.
