Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship of worker characteristics, safety knowledge and attitude of using personal protective equipment with the incident of work accident. Methods: This study is a quantitative research with cross sectional approach. Subjects in this study were all workers of informal alcohol industry amout 42 people. Data were analyzed using Chi- square. Result this study that significant between occupational safety knowledge with occupational accidents (p < 0,05) and this study have significant attitude of using personal protective equipment with occupational accident (p < 0,05). While the variables of education, year work, age there is no correlation with work accident (P > 0,05).  Workers less knowledge of occupational safety affects workplace accidents not due to education level. Workers with the attitude of using personal protective equipment such as boots and gloves have not become a habit so work accidents still occur in informal alcohol industry. Conclusion There is need for training and understanding of the types of accidents ranging from mild to severe and how to control the risk of danger to the working environment independently, as well as increasing the contribution of the community to provide self-protective equipment that has good standards. Regular monitoring provides space for the informal industry to improve production quality

Abstract

Purpose: Explore the meaning of adolescent’s experience and social support needs from health staff in pregnancy.Method: This research was a qualitative research with phenomenology. The study was conducted in three catchment areas of Puskesmas Jetis, Gedongtengen and Umbulharjo 1 from 6 May to 7 July 2017. The selection of participants using the technique of maximal variation and the number of participants adjusted to the varied place of study and the variation of participants and the number of participants was 6. The research data was collected by using in-depth interview technique with semi-structured interview guide. The data were analyzed with Collaizi technique analysis.Results: There are 5 themes in this study that is, the experience of adolescents at the beginning of their pregnancies, differences in the reasons adolescent maintain their pregnancies, the form of support that adolescent have gained during pregnancy, adolescent perspectives on the behavior of health staff during accompanying pregnancy and social support needs of adolescent pregnancy from health staff .Conclusion: Adolescent acceptance of pregnancy occurs as pregnancy progresses, support from optimal health staff increases teen motivation to maintain and run pregnancy well and informational support from health staff is a key requirement for teenage pregnancy.

Abstract

Tujuan: Studi ini bertujuan memberikan berbagai  alternatif dalam memecahkan masalah terkait krisis air bersih di Provinsi Jawa Barat. Metode: Data diperoleh dari studi literatur, wawancara dan laporan ahli. Metode analisis adalah deskriptif. Hasil: Perubahan iklim berdampak pada adanya cuaca ektrem. Sebagai negara kepulauan, Indonesia sangat rentan terhadap dampak ganda perubahan iklim. Ini tantangan baru untuk disinergikan dalam pembangunan nasional. Faktor terkait perubahan iklim pada ketahanan pangan, yaitu: curah hujan, temperatur, produksi beras, serta aspek akses terhadap pangan. Perubahan iklim berpengaruh pada kenaikan temperatur, curah hujan, dan permukaan air laut; ketahanan pangan; kekurangan air bersih; dan meningkatnya penyakit tular vektor. Kesimpulan: Sebagai solusi mengatasi krisis air di Jawa Barat dapat melalui dua pendekatan, yaitu: (1) Pendekatan kampung iklim, berupa: pengendalian kekeringan, banjir dan longsor; peningkatan ketahanan pangan; penanganan atau antisipasi kenaikan muka air laut; pengendalian penyakit terkait iklim (pengendalian vektor, sistem kewaspadaan dini, sanitasi dan air bersih). (2) Penciptaan desa konservasi, berupa kegiatan: rehabilitasi hutan & lahan partisipatif; pengembangan ekonomi; menyelamatkan lahan untuk mata air; pembentukan desa wisata untuk pengembangan ekonomi; dan penanaman pohon endemik.

Abstract

Food garden as a community-based strategy to meet consumption needsPurposeThis study aims to assess the Kebun Gizi program which has been running for two years.MethodsThis descriptive study involved 80 heads of family. Sampling method was simple random sampling. This study was conducted in December 2014 in Kebun Gizi, Jebres Surakarta. Instruments used were in the form of questionnaire. The data were analysed using descriptive method to find out the benefit of Kebun Gizi felt by the community, especially which was related to the eating behaviour of vegetables/fruits, planting behaviour and motivation and cost saving aspect.ResultsThe results showed all respondents were participants of Kebun Gizi. Among the respondents, 96% had willingness to invite others. Another impact was that it could be a joint movement to plant vegetables in the yard, as was mentioned by 88% of the respondents. There were 68% of respondents argued that Kebun Gizi could be one form of food security and 67.5% already felt that following the program could save the cost of household expenses. The average saving of household expenses on 67 families was Rp. 3.350.000,- per month and Rp. 40.200.000,- per year.ConclusionKebun Gizi has a positive impact, especially which is related to the participation in nutrition fulfillment efforts in the community.

Abstract

Mothers experience dealing an adolescent with premenstrual dysphoric disorder symptomsPurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore mothers experience dealing an adolescent with symptoms of the premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). MethodsThe research used quantitative and qualitative methods. In the quantitative method used with a cross-sectional design using the PMDD symptom questionnaire according to DSM-IV in adolescents, while in a qualitative method using in-depth interview technique on the mother of the adolescent. Data analysis on a quantitative method using descriptive analysis while on qualitative using method of data analysis Colaizi (1973). ResultsThis study showed that 23% or 52 of 226 adolescents had PMDD symptoms and found five themes: 1) the mother knew and felt the symptoms of PMDD experienced by the child, 2) The attitude and the limited time of mother and child affected the delivery of PMDD symptoms of the child to the mother, 3 ) Diversity of the mother's response when the child is facing symptoms of PMDD, 4) The handling that the mother gives to the child when the child has PMDD symptoms is sourced from the past, 5) Mother seeks information about the handling that can be done when experiencing PMDD symptoms. ConclusionMothers play an important role in helping adolescent deal with PMDD symptoms. mothers can provide support, be it instrumental support, assessment, emotional and informational. Mothers should have adequate knowledge of PMDD symptoms so that the support provided can be maximized.

Data collection was performed by in-depth interview method and using a semi-structured study guide. Research was conducted at health centers of Jetis, Gedong Tengen and Umbulharjo 1 in May - June 2017. The participants were 7 adolescent (18-19 years old) mothers who had a 2 weeks - 12 months baby. The sampling was conducted by purposive sampling and recorded by a tape recorder. Data analysis was done manually by using Colaizzi method.ResultsFive themes emerged from the results of data analysis: 1) variation of feelings experienced from pregnancy up to delivering the baby, 2) freedom from routine of baby care, 3) early experience of baby care, 4) social support from significant other and midwives, and 5) improved confidence in baby care.ConclusionThe variety of experiences by adolescent mothers is accompanied by social support providing increased confidence in caring for their baby.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Infeksi Menular Seksual (IMS) merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan utama di masyarakat, terdapat 340 juta kasus baru IMS yang dapat diobati seperti chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis. Salah satu kelompok masyarakat yang rentan terkena IMS yaitu remaja. Remaja hanya memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang HIV/AIDS tetapi tidak mengetahui jenis IMS lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan siswi SMA tentang IMS yang bisa disembuhkan di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswi SMA kelas III di provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan jumlah sampel 425 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara proportional stratified random sampling, simple random sampling dan consecutive random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat, bivariat dan multivariat. Hasil penelitian: Mayoritas pengetahuan siswi SMA negeri dan swasta pada kategori cukup (76,6% dan 52,6%). Pada SMA negeri, karakteristik responden yang secara signifikan memengaruhi pengetahuan siswi tentang IMS yang bisa disembuhkan yaitu peminatan atau jurusan (p<0,05). Pada SMA swasta yaitu usia, peminatan atau jurusan dan pendidikan ibu (p<0,05).Kesimpulan: Semakin tinggi usia pengetahuan semakin baik, siswi dari jurusan IPA mempunyai pengetahuan yang lebih baik dari siswi dari peminatan IPS, siswi yang mempunyai ibu dengan pendidikan tinggi mempunyai pengetahuan yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Infeksi Menular Seksual, Siswi SMA

Abstract

Factors associated with adolescents psychosocial problems in the Code riverbank in YogyakartaPurpose: To identify factors related to adolescent psychosocial problems in the watershed of the Code River in Yogyakarta.Method: The samples are 173 adolescents aged 12-19 years who were selected by consecutive sampling technique based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instruments used were questionnaire of respondent characteristics, Pediatric Symptom Checklist-Youth Report questionnaire, Child And Adolescent Social Support Scale questionnaire, and residence environment questionnaire. This study used univariate analysis, Chi square test, Fisher test and logistic regression test.Results: A total of 11.6% of adolescents in the Code riverbank area experienced psychosocial problems. Level of education, parental support and the fairness of residence are associated with adolescent psychosocial problems, with level of education as the greatest factor.Conclusion: Adolescent psychosocial problems that occur in the watershed of the Code River in Yogyakarta are related to educational level, parental support and the fairness of adolescent residence.

Abstract

Health education on transmission prevention and use of masks in families with tuberculosis patient: the experience from Johar Baru, Central JakartaPurposeThe objective of the activity is to educate TB patients and families of TB patients about how to prevent TB transmission and the correct use of masks and the use of masks.MethodActivity targets were 35 people from 20 families of TB patients in Johar Baru area, Central Jakarta. Activities carried out were socialization, counseling about the use of masks, giving masks to respondents, and evaluation activities. The extension media used were posters on "5 Ways of TB Prevention" and posters about wearing the correct mask. The counseling was conducted in three visits, ie on February 9, February 10, and February 14, 2017. The counseling was conducted to all families of TB patients who were targeted for the activity.ResultsThe result of the activity shows the education can increase the knowledge of the respondents about the prevention of TB transmission by 85.7%. In addition, it can improve the respondents’ knowledge about how to use masks and practice of mask use by 100%.ConclusionContinuous activity needs to be carried out so that good knowledge can be maintained and is expected to form a positive attitude and later expected to form good hygiene personal behavior.
