Abstract

This research was motivated by hyponyms and hypernyms contained in the Riau Post Newspaper. A hyponym is a relation of meaning whose meaning is more solemn or whose meaning is considered part of another expression while a hypernym is a relation of meaning whose meaning is more general or whose meaning represents another expression. Formulate the problem in this study, namely, (1) how is the use of hyponyms in Riau Pos newspaper? (2) how is the use of hypernyms in Riau Pos newspaper? This study aims to (1) describe, analyze and interpret the use of hyponyms in Riau Pos newspaper (2) describe, analyze and interpret the use of hypernyms in Riau Pos newspaper. This type of research is qualitative research with content analysis methods. The theory used in semantic research from the books Chaer (2009), Djajasudarma (2012) and Tarigan (2009). The research approach is qualitative type library. The method used content analysis. The results of research from the analysis of the use of hyponyms and hypernyms in the Riau Pos newspaper are hyponyms there are 20 data, one of the data citations in which there is hyponymous data is "Indonesian technology company, Gojek officially integrates its application in three other countries, namely Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand". The word 'Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand' is a hyponymous data. Hypernym there are 14 data, one of the data quotes in which there is hypernym data is "The education sector in the village of Marga Mulya is quite advanced, because from all levels of education already exist, ranging from PAUD, KINDERGARTEN, ELEMENTARY, JUNIOR HIGH, HIGH SCHOOL, Ponpes and MDTA". The word education level is hypernymous data.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the similarities, resemblances, and differences between the vocabulary of the Malay language in these two dialects. The approach used in this research is qualitative with data analysis methods. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings show similarities, resemblances, and differences in the analyzed vocabulary between the two dialects. The implications of this research enrich our understanding of the variation of the Malay language in the Pulau Panjang and Lebuh Lurus dialects in Kuantan Singingi Regency. By understanding the similarities, resemblances, and differences between these dialects, we can better understand the dynamics of language and local culture in the region. The practical implications can be used as a reference for researchers, language instructors, and the general public in understanding and preserving the diversity of regional languages and cultures. Additionally, this research can serve as a foundation for efforts to conserve and develop the Malay language in its local context.

Abstract

Character education plays an integral part in shaping human personality and behavior, with its values often found in literary works. Literature serves not only as a form of entertainment but also as a platform for conveying deep moral and ethical values. This research examines the values of character education in the novel "Lelaki Pembawa Kain Kafan" by Griven H. Putera. The focus on this novel is chosen due to the diverse range of character values it presents, such as religiosity, respect, compassion, responsibility, and discipline. Qualitative methods are employed in this study, involving steps such as defining the research project, formulating research questions, collecting data through observation and analysis, and an iterative process to draw conclusions. Descriptive methods are also used to depict the phenomena of character values in the novel. Data is drawn from the novel "Lelaki Pembawa Kain Kafan" published by the Department of Culture & Tourism of Riau Province, focusing on five main character values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, justice, and compassion. The research findings indicate that this novel reflects a variety of character education values through characters such as Pak Jupen, Pak Guru, Nantan, Pudin, Bahri, Ncik Soma, Pak Imam, and Pak Wali. The dominant character value is religiousness, as evidenced by the attitudes exhibited by the main characters, particularly Pak Jupen. In conclusion, this novel illustrates the importance of character values in shaping human personality and behavior, especially within the context of traditional society.

Abstract

This study describes how students' abilities in writing rhymes. Writing activity is a process of one's activities in pouring ideas or thoughts, and feelings into a written language with the development of a mindset in the form of literature. The author's reason for taking this research is to find out how the level of students' ability in writing rhymes. The purpose of this study was to describe, find out, improve students' ability to write rhymes and find out what causes the lack of ability to write rhymes for class VII students at SMP N 1 Kepenuhan Hulu for the 2022/2023 academic year using a learning model approach to students. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with this type of classroom action research. So the researcher can conclude that the Ability to Write Pantun for Class VII Students of SMA Negeri 1 Kepenuhan Hulu is in a very good category. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average student test score of 94.82 in the interval score range (91-95) with a conversion result of 3.66 or with very good criteria. Most students have understood how to write rhymes according to the conditions. Thus the ability to write rhymes for class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kepenuhan Hulu for the 2022/2023 academic year is in the very good category (94.82).

Abstract

The researcher formulates the problem in this study based on the psychological aspects of the character's superego in the play Prostitute and the President in dealing with conflict and the description of the form of inner conflict experienced by the character. The purpose of this research is to analyze literary psychology by examining the psychological aspects of the character's superego, and to describe the form of the superego psychological aspects experienced by the character. The problem examined in this research is, how are the elements of the character's personality related to the Superego in Ratna Sarumpaet's drama script Pelacur dan Sang President? The method used in this research is descriptive method and content analysis technique. The type of research is literature with a qualitative approach, the data collection technique is the hermeutic technique and the data source uses the play script Pelacur dan Sang President Karya Ratna Sarumpaet. The results of psychological analysis research in the play script Pelacur dan Sang President by Ratna Sarumpaet there are 15 data (sample 7 data) contained in the character Jamila, Mrs. Ria discourse there are 92 participants, the results (ends) in the discourse aim to provide information on events related to law and crime, the occurrence of criminal acts, providing the results of the trial verdict and so on, the mandate (message) is to provide a message or message that varies from each of them not to commit criminal acts, be more careful about criminal acts and so on, the way (key) is conveyed in a convincing, fiery, firm and demanding manner, the means (instrument) uses written language, the norms (norms) are lectures and discussions, the type (genre) is CNN Indonesia news portal.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of development of basic potential in humans to become individuals who think and behave well, especially for students in the field of education. By using a qualitative approach and descriptive methods, this research data is in the form of clauses, sentences and paragraphs which contain educational value obtained from the novel “Tuhan Mengapa Kau Memberiku Wajah Ini?” by Isa Alamsyah. The data collection technique in this research uses hermeneutic techniques. The results of the research show that there are educational values in the form of aspects of faith and devotion, aspects of caring, aspects of intelligence, and aspects of toughness. This research can be used to enrich the reading experience and model character education for students.

Abstract

In folklore there are moral educational value which refers to three dimensions named responsibility, conscience and obligation. The problem in this research is: what are the moral educational value that related to the dimensions of responsibility, conscience and obligation in Putri Pinang Masak folklore by Afrizal Cik and the relation to  educational realm of Bloom's Taxonomy? The aim of this research is to describe and analyze data regarding the moral values of education related to responsibility, conscience and obligation and the relation to educational realm of Bloom's Taxonomy contained in Putri Pinang Masak folklore by Afrizal Cik. The theory for this research is Salam’s theory. This research is included in qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data collection technique in this research is a hermeneutic technique. The results of this research found moral educational value in dimension of responsibility, which can be seen from the tireless attitude of a young man in searching for the whereabouts of his family. There are moral educational value in dimension of conscience, which can be seen from the attitude of Juragan Tiung who decided to stop by his ship for safety. There are on the moral educational value of the obligation dimension, which can be seen from the attitude of all the ship's sailors who always say prayers and give thanks.

Abstract

The value of moral education is a value related to a responsible human person. The value of moral education aims to appreciate and respect humans as humans and treating humans as humans is the human obligation of every human being. Darmadi (2012: 51). Problems in this research: 1) What are the values of moral education and their relationship to the educational realm of Bloom's Taxonomy in the aspects of responsibility, conscience and obligation contained in the novel Harga a Confidence by Tere Liye. The theories used in this research are Bertens (2001), Kusniati (2012), Moleong (2018). The method the author uses is a descriptive method using content analysis techniques. The data collection technique was carried out using hermeneutic techniques. The results of this research show that the value of moral education in the novel Harga a Confidence by Tere Liye which is related to aspects of responsibility contains 15 data, for example; "He, like other lowly sailors, was tasked with preparing food, cleaning the ship and washing clothes, getting a share in the narrowest room." There are 30 data aspects of conscience, for example; "You're really good at playing it. Can you teach me?” The girl stared with sparkling eyes, just like a child who hopes for the promise of playing around." There are 7 data aspects of obligations, for example; “Girls must comply with arranged marriages. The marriage was carried out to strengthen relations between families." If the value of moral education is linked to the educational domain according to Bloom's Taxonomy, there are 32 examples of data in the cognitive domain; "A too brave nod from an orphaned young man, poor father, raised by the love of benefactors, uneducated, and too weak to dare to make decisions in life." 15 pieces of affective data, for example: "He, like other lowly sailors, was tasked with preparing food, cleaning the ship and washing clothes, getting a share in the narrowest room." Psychomotor 5 data examples: "Jim swallowed hard. Then he began to tell about his past of being poor, uneducated, weak and cowardly in the most beautiful city. Tells about his work as a violinist. The weddings he attended.

Abstract

Not only that, the creation of literary works also leads to high thoughts that are not only formed from mere daydreams. Based on this fact, the author conducted a research with the title "Analysis of Character Characterization and Internal Conflict in the Novel Me And My Broken Heart". The problems in this study are: How is the characterization of the characters and the internal conflict of the characters in the novel Me and My Broken heart by Wulanfadi? The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the characterization and internal conflict of the characters in the novel Me and MyBroken Heart by Wulanfadi. The theory used in this research refers to the theories of Mana Sikana (2005), Minderop (2010), and Burhan Nurgiyantoro. The data in this research are words and sentences in the novel Me and My Broken Heart by Wulanfadi. This research approach uses a qualitative approach, the method used is descriptive method using hermeneutic techniques and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study conclude that there are 7 characters, including: Mika, has a jail character, friendly, angry, snappy, witty, brave, talkative, flirtatious, afraid, wise. The internal conflict that occurs is Mika feeling guilty to her best friend for liking Luna.

Abstract

The central component of education is the learning process, which includes a variety of components such as the curriculum, instructors, and learning theories. The purpose of this study is to explain and detail how Indonesian language instruction is being implemented at SMP Negeri 01 Kabun. Descriptive qualitative research methodology is used, with an emphasis on the opening, core, and closing stages of the learning process activities. Techniques for gathering data include documentation, questionnaires, and observation. The data analysis method includes forming conclusions, displaying the data, and reducing the data. The findings show that media and other learning tools have not yet been properly utilized in the implementation of Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 01 Kabun, which has resulted in less participatory and engaging learning experiences. This study emphasizes how crucial it is to keep assessing and refining instructional strategies in order to raise the standard of instruction at the institution.
