Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the performance of agricultural extension workers in carrying out horticultural extension activities, (2) determine the income earned by horticultural farmers. This research was conducted in Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, which was carried out from February to July 2021 with a total of 22 samples determined by proportional random sampling using the Slovin formula. The data in this study were analyzed quantitatively. The data from the research show that (1) the performance of agricultural extension workers in Wua-Wua District, Kendari City still needs to be improved, especially at the stage of implementing agricultural extension (2) the income earned by horticultural farmers in Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, which is IDR 2.598.000/ planting season, for kale, mustard greens, and spinach, the income is below the average salary of Kendari City's UMR.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) Determine the performance of agricultural instructors in lowland rice, (2) Determine the productivity of lowland rice, (3) Determine the relationship between the performance of agricultural instructors and productivity of lowland rice. This research was conducted in Poleang Utara District, Bombana Regency, which was carried out from January to February 2021 with 61 respondents who were determined by proportional random sampling, the data were analyzed descriptively and correlation analysis of Spearman rank. The research data showed that (1) The performance of agricultural extension workers in North Poleang District, Bombana Regency still needs to be improved, especially at the implementation and evaluation stages of agricultural extension. (2) The productivity of lowland rice in North Poleang District is 4.29 tons/ha. This productivity is still below the productivity of lowland rice at the level of Southeast Sulawesi Province, which is 6 tons/ha (3) The relationship between the performance of agricultural extension workers and lowland rice productivity in North Poleang District, Bombana Regency showed a strong relationship, meaning that the performance of agricultural extension workers and lowland rice productivity It is obtained those farmers support each other.

Abstract

Extension workers have a very important role in agricultural development, thus requiring extension workers who have adequate competence. This study aims to analyze the responses of farmers to the role of extension workers in improving the dynamics of farmer groups. The research was conducted in Kasimpa Jaya Village, South Tiworo District. The determination of the research location was carried out using the purposive sampling method. Analysis of the relationship between farmers' responses to the role of extension workers in improving the dynamics of farmer groups using the Spearman Rank Correlation Method. The results showed that the response of farmers to the role of extension agents was low, the dynamics of farmer groups in Kasimpa Jaya Village were good, and the relationship between farmers' responses to the role of extension workers in improving farmer group dynamics was low.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to see how efficient agricultural extension workers were in communicating with farmers during the Covid-19 epidemic on lowland rice farming in Sulemandara Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency, knowledge of farmers in lowland rice farming during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sulemandara Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency and the relationship between the effectiveness of the communication between the extension worker and the knowledge of the farmer in lowland rice farming. From November to January 2022, this study was done in Sulemandara Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency with a population of 128 people and a sample of 32 respondents. Sampling in this study used a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used quantitative descriptive data analysis method with the formula of similarity of meaning. Communication between agricultural extension staff and farmers was found to be inefficient, according to the findings, namely that there were differences in meaning in communication between extension workers and farmers.

Abstract

Business Feasibility Analysis and Business Development Strategy for Oil Patchouli Refining (Case Study Pak Safaruhin' Distillery in Langku-Langku Villa, Tiworo Tengah District, Muna Barat Regency). Under the leadership of Mr. Musaddar, S.P., M.P. my counselor and Dr Ir. La Nalefo, M.S. as a matron, ii.This study aims to determine the business productivity and development strategy of owner Safaruhin patchouli oil polishing business in Langku-Langku Villa, Tiworo Tengah District, Muna Regency West. This research was published in September 2021. The object of this research was Mr. Safaruhin as a business owner and as many as 29 farmers who participated in the success of patchouli oil polishing. The results of this study indicate that (1) Mr. Safaruhin's oil patchouli refining business could be clarified, because it has a B/C value of 1.14, (2), and there are 4 plans that can be developed by Mr. Safaruhin's patchouli oil developed. included the expansion of the land share of farmers, the expansion of the nuclear plant traders, the expansion of the patchouli oil embellishment plant and the expansion of the patchouli oil market.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of social capital on the economic empowerment of lowland rice farmers in Labulu-Bulu Village, Parigi District, Muna Regency. Determination of the location was carried out deliberately in that this village is one of the villages that applies social capital in cultivating lowland rice in Parigi District. The population in this study were 350 farmers and the sample was taken at the 10% level so that the sample of this study was 35 respondents, and was carried out in October 2020 until it was finished. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 20. The results showed that there was a simultaneous influence of social capital, namely trust, network, social norms and participation on the economic empowerment of lowland rice farmers in Labulu-Bulu Village, Parigi District, Muna Regency. Based on the results of the simultaneous calculation of the effect of trust, network, social norms and participation on the economic empowerment of farmers, at the 5% significance level, the Fcount value is 8,058 with the Ftable value of 2.49.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the important sectors in national economic development. Participation of farmers both individually and in groups with full awareness and responsibility in the field of agricultural business is indispensable to create changes that can improve the welfare of farmers. To increase farmers' participation, the role of agricultural extensionists is very important. This research aimed to knowed the level of communication skills of extension workers, the level of participation of farmers and to know the relationship of communication skills to the participation of farmers in rice paddy extension activities in wonua monapa village pondidaha district konawe. Sampling is determined randomly or simple random sampling with the number of samples as many as 43 respondents rice paddy farmers. The techniques of data analyzed used to determine extension communication skills and farmer participation are measured using a likert scale and then analyzed using a class interval formula and to find out the relationship of extension communication skills to farmer participation using spearman rank correlation formula. The results showed that the communication skills of extension workers with a moderate category with a percentage of 76.74%, the participation of farmers with a moderate category with a percentage of 58.14%. Rank Spearman's correlation test results showed that extension communication skills with farmers' participation in rice paddy extension activities showed significance or Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.030<0.05, so Ha was accepted. That is, the improved communication skills of extension workers, the participation of farmers will also increase.

Abstract

This study aims: (1) to find out how the behavior of farmers in hydroponic farming in Kendari City; (2) To find out how the application of sustainable agricultural innovation in hydroponic farming in Kendari City; (3) To find out how the relationship between farmer behavior and the application of sustainable agricultural innovations in hydroponic farming in Kendari City. The population in this study using the census technique, namely the entire population of 25 people identified at the Kendari City Agriculture Office. This study was analyzed descriptively with a quantitative approach using the interval formula and quantitative inferential with the Spearman rank correlation formula. The results showed that; The behavior of hydroponic farming farmers in Kendari City it's classified as moderate. This show that farmers have sufficient knowledge, attitudes and skills in hydroponic farming in Kendari City that they still need to be improved, especially on the aspect of nutrient solution provision and planting indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of social media Facebook hydroponic farming community in Kendari City. This research has been conducted on the Hydroponic Farmer Community in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The selection of the research location was done purposively. This research involved 40 hydroponic farmers in Kendari City. The research was carried out in August – October 2021. The types and sources of data used in this study include: primary data and secondary data. The technique in this research is survey, interview. The variables in this research are: Social Media, including: Context, Communication, Collaboration, and Connection. The type of research is quantitative. The first data analysis was conducted to determine the use of social media for hydroponic farming communities in Kendari City and analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis methods which were processed using class interval formulas. The results showed that the use of Facebook Social Media Hydroponic Farmer Community in Kendari City was high in terms of the use of context, communication, collaboration and even connection. This shows that hydroponic farmers dominate the use of social media facebook as a source of information.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the characteristics of farmers; (2) Knowing how much income is obtained from vegetable farming and (3) Knowing the relationship between farmer characteristics and farmers' income. This research was conducted from January to March 2021. The sampling technique used was the census method, and the data analysis used was descriptive, income analysis, and Spearman Rank Correlation. The results of this study indicate that the level of education of farmers is dominated by farmers who are junior high school graduates (SMP), the largest vegetable farming experience is more than 10 years, the highest land area is 0.5-2 Ha and family dependents of vegetable farmers are included in the family category. small with dependents above 2-3 people. Based on the Spearman Rank Correlation analysis, the relationship between farmer characteristics and income of land area shows a significant category, meaning that there is a relationship between land area and income of vegetable farmers. Meanwhile, for the category of education level, experience and family responsibilities are included in the insignificant or unrelated category.
